Next month, PlayStation Plus will reach its 4th year milestone. PS Plus has evolved a lot as a membership since then. We’ve provided our PS Plus members with numerous exclusive discounts, access to betas, demos and even select games early, and of course,free games to play through our Instant Game Collection. As our members have grown with us from our introduction on PS3, PS Vita and now PS4, together we have built a strong community of gamers around the world.
The excitement around PlayStation 4 has been tremendous, and it has been exciting to see how quickly our dedicated community has rallied around the system, adopting and engaging with its features and spreading the word about what makes PS4 the best console available. PlayStation Plus has been an essential part of PlayStation 4, providing access to next-gen online multiplayer and a steady stream of great games including Resogun, Outlast, Don’t Starve and Mercenary Kings. Since we are always looking to continue evolving PS Plus to be a service that really serves our community, we are excited to provide a more balanced set of games introduced each month with PS Plus. As you’ll see below, starting in June, members will have access to two titles per month for each of our platforms.
Since we’ve seen how excited many of you are to download Instant Game Collection titles as soon as they’re available, we’ve decided to adjust the length of time each title will be available. Starting in July, every title in the Instant Game Collection will be available the first Tuesday of the month, and will be free for the month, until the first Tuesday of the following month, taking the guesswork out of how long the game will be available for free. In the coming weeks, you’ll see that several of the titles that have had a nice, long stint in the Instant Game Collection will be phased out, so if you’re new to the service and haven’t had a chance to download all of the titles available through PS Plus — or if you’ve been thinking about subscribing but haven’t yet — now is the perfect time to get all the great games available with PS Plus.
Protip: you don’t have to download the game to your hard drive (or memory card) to gain the entitlement — you can also go to the web store, add them to your cart and check out. Once the game says “Purchased” below it when you’re logged in, you’ll be set for the future as long as you’re a PS Plus member.
Members have a lot to look forward to in the coming months, including the Destiny multiplayer beta (for members who have pre-ordered the game), Driveclub PS Plus Edition, Secret Ponchos and more.

Okay, now that you’re all up to speed with PlayStation Plus, let’s go over the games you’ll get this month. Buddy up, because your two PS4 games are best when experienced with a friend (or two). Trine 2: Complete Story is a puzzle platformer set in a gorgeous fantasy world, where you’ll switch between heroes (a thief, warrior and mage) to complete your journey. Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate merges the campaigns of Pixlejunk Shooter 1 and 2 and wraps them up in fancier visuals, plus some extra perks like cross-play and cross-save.
On PS3, Plus members get NBA 2K14 — just in time for the NBA finals. The latest in the franchise features a new Path to Greatness starring the reigning NBA champion LeBron James. Sly Cooper and pals are back in Thieves of Time — since it’s a cross-buy title, Plus members will get both the PS3 and Vita versions next month.
Finally, PS Vita owners get Terraria and Mutant Mudds Deluxe. Terraria is a procedurally generated sandbox game where you’ll build crazy structures and fight insane boss monsters, while Mutant Mudds Deluxe is a spin on the traditional 2D platformers of years past – they’ve got the art style and chiptune tracks down, but you can also hop into a third dimension with a nifty jetpack. Jetpacks are cool.

Not a big fan of the game choices. If you’re only choosing 2 per console, can’t they be better than this?
While I am disappointed in this month’s lineup (I had really hoped Sony would pull out some heavy hitters to beef up the lineup like they usually do around E3 – and a port of a years old game already given away on Plus is no heavy hitter) I am glad to see Sony is taking steps to improve the service.
Imagine if both PS3 games were indie titles. I imagine that would stir people the wrong way.
That’s the point where I would roll my eyes and think it was a disappointing month. BUT I already got my month’s worth with multiple games already, so I’m not worried about that circumstance.
I respect everyone’s opinion, but with all due respect, I only signed up plus for the free games, and I’ve been disappointed this entire year. I don’t dig indie games, I think they should only be given discount, not offered as “free game”.
I would love to see more titles like Dragon’s Dogma.

Yes, I also understand PS4 doesn’t have a lot of titles right now, but PS3 lineup should have been a lot better.

So those of you selfish enough to proclaim this month (and multiple months before that, hilariously enough) the worst PS+ offering yet, maybe you should consider that it can and possibly will get worse at some point.
Instead of being self entitled children and voicing your negative opinion, be open minded. Check out NBA 2K14 and play a few games with the Chicago Bulls. Or play some Sly. Or get some Vita or PS4 gaming in. It doesn’t matter. Just stop seeing the negative.
The more you whine and complain, the more the Plus team won’t care in the future to give out games that we really, desperately want. Because you can’t make these whiners happy unless you give people Watch Dogs along with a complimentary $100 added to their wallet. I can assure you that it’ll just make them more compelled to throw indies games at you though. Beggers can’t be choosers.
If you don’t like what they’re doing, ignore the offering, and let your sub end. And go become a Steam user, or a Microsoft gamer. I personally don’t care, but those options are open to you. I sincerely hope you enjoy whatever it is you are looking for.
Also, please feel free to check out Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) on Netflix. It is the best show since Game of Thrones.
And Sony, if by chance you stopped to read this post, and made it all the way to this point, I will give off my left nut and name my first born and second born child a name of your choice if you add some AoT avatars to the store. As well as announce a Playstation exclusive Attack on Titan game at E3. I won’t get my hopes up about the latter, but I’m telling you that would make my blood jump higher than LeBron James dunking over Jimmy Butler.
I’d like to say I am disappointed. I felt like a kid on Christmas every Tuesday after work coming home to get my “present”. Now all that joy is lost. ><
I would also say that dropping a game like NBA2K14 for only PS3 is an extreme turn off. I would prefer it if you are going to "give" us a cross-gen title that either make it for both systems or not at all. I saw the game's logo and thought "cool!" and then I see its PS3 and was bummed to no end.
To re-ask a question that you think you answered but did not… Are we going to see the "yearly" swap out or all those yearly games going the way of the dodo as well? It would be a great shame to see this, so I hope the real answer is no.

I wonder how they will handle ps now and ps plus. will games move over like a ps3 game free allowed to be played on the ps 4 via now for free as well. rental discounts? purchase disoucnts? on ps now. some very interesting options. I heard rumors that ps now might come to the computer as well… I could be fantasizing but I thought… cheers sony, again!

Concerning the games are received together this is a great victory. Europeans plus members receive “dragon’s crown” in playstation vita. I’m not motivated to reactivate my subscription.
Would this titles apply for Mexico too? Because on May I saw that Fifa 14 was going to be available but instead of it was Sly Cooper, so, would we have another game instead of Sly?.

What an awful approach. I was hoping that the removal of 3 PS3 titles would allow you to do what you did last year and the year prior: Which up the IGC. I guess not.
What a shame. I feel sorry for VITA owners. Two very overhyped awful indies. The only thing worth playing is Sly Cooper. The rest are pretty lame, and with Uncharted 3, LBP Karting and others being removed from IGC and replaced by… these… there is no excuse.
I cannot wait to see EU’s plus so I can confirm that SCEE treats their Plus users better than SCEA.

Well, well, what happened to pay to play ps4 online? I guess this one ups the ps+ service for the ps4, (2 ps4 games and the ability to play online) which is the natural way of the business; to progress to the newest system. Most of the comments I read agrees that this is fair balance, I don’t see it looks like the table just tipped to ps4.
Keep up the quality of the games on ps3 SONY or you will loose ps3 players.
Despite what everyone else thinks I personally like this update for ps plus which are incredible games. For those that are not happy about this stop buying games so early and be easy.

The new line-up of titles for June dont really interest me and Im a little disappointed that a title like Uncharted 3 isnt being replaced by something of equal quality. Honestly it would be nicer if PS+ had some awesome Day-1 discounts for games. The free games are cool for the subscription, but lately the titles have been just updated indie ports that I havent gotten interested in. I find I mostly download some of these titles, play em for a few hours and never come back. Limbo has been enjoyable for the first hour but I cant see myself spending so much time with it like I have with Uncharted Golden Abyss.
Actually this is a great month for vita, we get terraria, mutant blob, sly cooper and pixeljunk shooter ultimate!!! Nice month!!

Maybe next month Sony can release triple-A Econ 101 simulator where you play as a mighty warrior who has to learn about supply and demand and how giving away your best products right after they come out isn’t a sound business strategy.

The yearly titles are being taken off and aren’t being replaced by anything. So we’re actually getting six fewer games per year now.
Very nice. I especially like that a lot of these are cross buy, so even more games for my shinny new Vita, which i think has replaced Steam/PC as the place to play my indie games.
Free games are always welcomed, sometimes I don’t dare to buy indie titles, ps plus offered me a chance to play indie during past 6 months I figured out i am playing indie titles most of time and I find them more satisfying and creative.
Most of AAA games for big companies are either prequel or sequel which is repetitive, websites like IGN help to market these big players create a hype, I am bored with new battlefield and cod every year.
There is small wave of change, indies are gaining strong foot hold, I appreciate their effort and sony support.
This is just… awesome.
Trine 2 was something I’ve wanted to grab since the demo, the 3D is awesome.

PS4 selection is not good but it doesn’t have enough games to make a good selection. PS3 selection is not good either but we had way worse recently, but Vita selection….Wow I couldn.t pick two games I had less interest on the store if I wanted to. This entire year of plus on Vita was a waste. The only plus game I played was Metal Slug and that is a psp game.
As for the changes, they are not good for ps3 owners, make no difference for Vita owners and are a improvement for ps4 owners so not much to comment on that other than its bad we’re losing yearly games for nothing. Hopefully E3 brings better news for Vita but I have lost all hope of sony announcing anything good on it.
Im not a big sports fan but Im excited to get nba 2k14 Im sure it’ll be fun, I hope they round out their sports offerings, like next month baseball then foliowing month football… Just cause i don’t play sports in real life doesn’t mean I wont enjoy the game. Thanks sony…

Don’t be fooled everyone. You will get ALL THE GAMES the very first Tuesday of the month true. But this sure as hell doesn’t mean 10 PS3 Games 6 Vita Games and 1 PS4 game.
This is a MASSIVE reduction in the benefits of plus and I for one am FURIOUS.
You are destroying what Xbox offers why in the hell would you backpedal when you know they are going to improve their service?
This is unacceptable I strongly hope this is a temporary measure until there are more PS4 games released. I repeat again this is unacceptable in every possible regard.
Every time you have added new benefits to plus I have worried you are going to increase the price but the service keeps getting better at no added charge. What has NOT improved yet is the online gameplay. I suspect that is going to happen more around when PS3 is phased out and PS4 becomes primary platform. This is not ok. I will be very vocal about this everywhere I possibly can and I know I am not the only one. There is no excuse for this.

1 Extra PS4 game is not a fair trade to lose 8 PS3 Games and 4 Vita games. The community needs to speak up here. This is Sony saying “Ok now that PS Plus is mandatory for online Pay we can get away with scaling back on the benefits. How can we announce this in a veiled fashion to make it look like we are increasing benefits? Let’s say something about you get EVERY GAME every first week of the month! Then quickly slip in the fact that you lose all of them the next month. They will be too excited about not having to get one or 2 every week to see what we did!
WRONG. As a diehard advocate of plus since you first started Instant Game Collection (though I have actually been a member since the first week it was out) This is unacceptable!
There are currently 22 titles across the three platforms in the IGC. In the near future, there will never be more than 6 titles across the three platforms in the IGC.

Well, I guess it doesnt really matter for current subscribers, but the incentive for future subscribers is going to straight up plummet.

Games are going to be added and removed more frequently this means anyone who buys a vita for plus will have far less to choose from when they first get it. This means retailers mentioning “hey sign up for PS Plus and you can play X amount of free games RIGHT NOW! won’t really apply.
The ONLY benefit here is an extra PS4 game. Though that is nice and all the recent trend has been to only put the single player or multiplayer portion of a full retail title on and if a game isn’t cross buy but is available for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita they can offer one of that same game 3 times in that year. You have very clever marketing speak here. This is a huge downgrade. If the community speaks out it will change. I enjoy Playstation Plus don’t get me wrong but this is the first time in quite awhile that a huge downgrade has occurred like this.
