Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection Out Today on PS Vita

Greetings, doods! Your humble Prinny David here, and I’m drawing on years of singing telegram experience to sing some good news into your face — the idol simulation Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection is out today in both retail and digital formats for PS Vita!

In this game, you find yourself summoned to the familiar environs of Gamindustri in order to help your favorite CPUs… turn into idol stars?! That’s right, you’ll be seeing Neptune, Noire, Blanc, and Vert (maybe even a few other familiar faces) in a whole new spotlight as they sing and dance their way to idol stardom. As the CPU’s perfect producer, they’re gonna need all your help to skyrocket their idol careers, raising your shares and keeping the public out of idol group MOB-48’s peppy grip!

In this idol simulator, you’ll get to know your favorite CPU as you manage every aspect of their career. Day in and day out you’ll be choosing how they spend their time — putting them to Work will garner them new fans through all sorts of activities. Having them train in Lessons will improve stats like Trust, which affects how events and story will unfold. Or Rhythm, which determines how much your audience will like your performances.

However, just like any performer, you can’t have them working too hard or else their Stress level will reach 100% and then it’s curtains for their career! You don’t want to have a CPU diva meltdown, do you?

All this training and hard work of course leads to the really flashy part, which is the concert. Before putting on the concert, you can pick what song to perform, where the idol goes on stage, and even plop down some familiar enemies onstage to have them bounce around behind you.

Did I mention that the more you play, the more costumes you’ll unlock for your characters? You can go the Gaga route and put on the most outlandish combinations (Mustache accessories and a flowery eyepatch, anyone?) — all the stage garb is totally up to you!

Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection

Once the concert’s been set up, you’ll direct the whole show — operating cameras to get the right angles at the right time, adding some crazy special effects, and even activating HDD under the right conditions! Putting on an awesome show for the audience will guarantee you boost your idol’s career! Did I mention that if you play your cards right, you might even be able to form an idol group? Look out, nation, ’cause this CPU might just turn into a 3PU.

So you ready to take these CPUs to idol superstardom in Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection? Train ’em, work ’em, and make them dance to take all the shares! These wacky characters are gonna need your producing perfection skills if they want to take over Gamindustri.

Now if you’ll excuse me, this Prinny’s gotta jet to live the idol lifestyle. Prinny out, dood!

I hope you’re not classifying me as one of those two haters. ‘Cause I was defending myself (and others who legitimately enjoy the game) and hating the haters.

  • I’m not too interested in this game personally but i’m looking forward to Rebirth. I’m hoping it plays more like MK2 and V, as well as have a better story than the first game originally had. I’m also hoping its priced appropriately at $29.99.

  • i been playing this game since i got it saturday.(shipped friday recieved saturday.) been enjoying every minute of it. i also been getting the error synching trophies. Neptunia Fans assemble!! going to get rebirth when idea factory releases it.

  • @Ryumoau

First off, nice avatar :). Also, I’ve seen most retailers price Re;Birth at $39.99, unless you’re in Canada then some places have it at $44.99.

  • You know what’s ironically funny and sad?
When someone has a different opinion (and good arguments) you just treat them like s*** and call them “haters”.
    What gives?

  • @50
lol nah I wasnt your comments were more along the lines of “taking the hate with stride” I just didnt refer to them directly because I dont feed trolls XD nor are people who justdont like the game or “it wasnt for them” categorized as haters just people who are jerks about it ^^

  • @54
Sir in my opinion your first comment expressing why you didnt like it wasnt hating it was legit criticism. However when people rebuttaled your oppinion with why they do like it (politely) you became defensive and rude especially in regards to Tjoeb. Thats when I recategorized you as a hater/troll. Still not quite as bad as a certain someone else who showed up jus to hate and thats it but still come on you had legit complaints others had legit rebuttals there was no need for an argument.

  • You call Conception 2 for 29$ a sale? really? Isnt 3 months in a row getting indies on IGC enough? Where are the real sales like we had in january?

  • There was an article about an rpg flash sale that was briefly displayed on ps blog a couple minutes ago but then suddenly vanished. Whats the deal?

  • Meh. Sony needs to have more games like Infamous, another Uncharted for Vita, Syphon Filter and other games like that. Get big name games like GTA and Resident Evil. Heck, NBA has yet to make an appearance on the Vita. Yet, we continue to get games like this one.

  • Loving the game so far and appreciate it for what it is, unlike a certain someone that keeps digging himself/herself deeper with what looked like a proper critique then later became an argument. Ah well.

Only thing is NISA forgot to include my micro fiber cloth from the LE bundle from their website. It hurts not having that around after all the touching, I mean playing…

  • @Viewtiful_Gene Good that you are trying to help, but don’t be such a brat about it. And since you have an avatar of Neptune and you’re asking people not to buy this game, it makes me not want to listen to you and proves that you are lying. I already bought the Limited Edition and no brat like you is stopping me from doing so. You should be lucky that this game actually got localized here, I honestly thought it wouldn’t.

    @SeanStrange So are you, dipstick.

  • @ Viewtiful_Gene Shut up! there’s no way Im not buying a Neptunia game, I have been playing it for some hours now and Im totally loving it!!

  • Thanks to NISA for bringing these games!

I pre-ordered the LE, but it’s taking a bit longer to arrive since I live outside the U.S.A.

Even if IFI ends up picks up the main Neptunia series, I hope that at least NISA can keep bringing the spinoffs like this, Neptunia U and Noire’s game.

I’m still disappointed that IFI doesn’t seem to be going to release a LE of Re;Birth1, but at least we will get a retail version. Sadly I can’t say the same about our fellow fans on europe who will only get a digital release.

And unlike what the Neptunia haters say, there are reviews that show that the game is well worth it:

  • Just waiting for my LE. ;3

  • @47: Sometimes new games have that problem, give it a few days and it should be fixed. I think it has to do with Sony not updating their servers with the data or something.

@32: You aren’t trying to help. You’re being a troll. You already stated your piece multiple times yet still challenge anyone willing to still play the game. Or even worse, you say people who DO enjoy it are just deluding themselves into think it so they don’t feel bad about “wasting money”. That’s a hater. You are a hater and a troll. And Sony should ban you for it, but they don’t moderate at all apparently so… we’re stuck with your nonsense.

  • @61 Hey now. I respect the people that are buying the game and the fans of the series. But to me, it looks like utter trash. No need to call me names, dude. I’m simply expressing my dislike towards the game itself. People can go out and buy it. Nothing’s stopping them. Personally, if they’re happy about their purchase, then so be it. I, as I said, just dislike the game and the series itself, but I’m glad others enjoy it more than I do.

  • @66 Saying you don’tlike the game and saying its utter trash are two very different things. It’s like if I was going around Street Fighter forums saying that USFIV is a shamelesss money grab for mindless sheep (which I think it is).

For me SFIV is the definition of utter garbage, but I’m not going to head to every SFIV blog post and “warn people” about it, cause I respect the people who do like the game, unlike what you and Viewtiful_Gene are doing.

  • @68: I don’t know what the heck you’re talking about. I’m not trolling any game. Your reading comprehension skills are at level 0. Go grind it out dood.

  • @68: I think, either you got the number wrong or there was a comment awaiting moderation that was approved, knocking up everyone’s numbers after that.

So, ignore my last comment. :p

  • @Elvick: I’m sorry, the comment numbers got bumped up, my comment was directed at SeanStrange (at the time of this comment #67).
