The Drop: New PlayStation Games for 6/10/2014
The Drop

Robert Hawkins is an American in quite the dangerous spot. Trapped within Nazi territory during the horrors of World War II, Hawkins must fight to survive a devastated Europe in CI Games’ upcoming first-person shooter Enemy Front on PS3. This project comes from the developer’s desire to showcase the impact the war had on their own Warsaw, Poland — a location less frequently traversed in modern FPS.

But if a more family-friendly game is in order, consider How To Train Your Dragon 2, based on the upcoming animated film. Choose a Dragon Racer and sail through the skies through uncharted territories. Mysteries, adventures, and fierce tournaments await.

It’s a light lineup this week due to E3 2014, so please enjoy the show — and read on for the rest of the Drop!

  • Sony is remastering Demon’s Souls for PS4???

  • BEYOND!! Really hope that The Last Guardian wasn’t cancel and its just a rumor.

  • @Wario64 Lvl Cap Interactive! Believe!

  • lol, 3 games. I’m sure there will be more in the actual store update, but we probably have to wait for surprises in Sony’s conference to find out what.

Hey Ryan, did you get DROPPED off at the convention center? XD

  • can’t wait to hear from all 3 companies, Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft. It’s GONNA BE BIG!

  • Will there be an E3 sale during E3 week?

  • I hope to hear good things from Sony, specifically about Vita and PS4.

  • Spill all E3’s dirty secrets now Ryan, I can’t wait another 33 hours.

  • oh and of course Beyond!

  • Yes! Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2! I was hoping for this. Now i can maybe finish it this time. :D

  • Sharp_andPointy

I am Down Right Spiffy, and I want lots of Vita info. And maybe some delicious sodak.

  • I’m absolutely loving all this Shin Megami Tensei love. You guys don’t even know.

However you know what would be better? Seeing Digital Devil Saga 1+2 and Nocturne all on one card for an HD Collection on the Vita.

That’s one HD Collection I could honestly spend all year playing.

  • I know there is something up with the ps2 wild arms games, but I’d easily pay 20 bucks for each of them.

  • hey ryan any idea if we are going to start seeing sony’s ps2 classics on the store? i have been dying to play rogue galaxy again. im sure others are wanting to play the dark cloud series. and hey square enix… if you are reading this give us ff12 on the store… pretty pretty please =)

  • Hey i have a great idea; put prices on this post!

  • *cricket*

  • When is Dragon Quest 8 getting a release on the network? I see they released it for iOS and android, but who the heck wants to play it on a small screen like that?

  • e3 sales on ps4?

  • Hope the lack of decent sales the last month and the lack of any real games this week, combined with the importance of E3 means we’ll finally see a good sale on the PSN store this week.

No good sales lately, mostly just pay to win type of games, no new games this week, and no E3 app for anyone outside of the US…

I truly hope you are able to correct this trend and stop limping into E3.

  • Hope you guys have some special E3 deals and surprises, because that’s a pitiful store update.

  • Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2

  • Ryan Clements? I didn’t know you were working for the Playstation Blog, when did this happen? I still remember when you first started working for IGN and listening to you on your first Podcast. Congratulations on the job!

  • You know what would be good for this E3?
Final Fantasy Type-0 release for Vita in the US.
Do it Sony, for the Vita.

  • Wow not much this week. Here’s hoping for a good sale in celebration of E3!

  • How to Train Your Dragon 2 is being released on that other handheld. While it is not a system seller, it is another game that skips Vita altogether. Sony needs to work on making sure that the whatever 3rd party games get released on 3ds, also get released on Vita. Spongebob, Regular Show, Resident Evil, Pac Man, Monster Hunter and more have been on the 3DS, but not on Vita.

  • Kind of a small drop…. :/

  • I plan on being at the E3 Theater Experience in Oklahoma City.

    HYPED!

  • All I know is E3 is tomorrow and I better see Beyond Good & Evil 2 at someones conference otherwise Brock Smason and his Murderflies shall rain down upon Ubisoft

    *Its a Venture Bros reference

  • Someone come play Terreria on PSvita

  • Enjoy E3 Ryan :)

  • Hope, You enjoy E3 Ryan ^_^

  • Have Fun at E3 Ryan ^_^

  • hey Clements, Is it as pretty as they say it is?

  • Any word on Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition? I heard that Devolver put it in for classification last month…

I know I’m one of the few that’s looking forward to it, but still…

  • They need PS2 classics to be playable on Vita.

  • Need more games for Vita to remain competitive and retain interest of users.

    Also agree with #29.

  • I’m really looking forward to E3 this year. I’ll be on the show floor, so I’m hoping to get my hands on Destiny and The Order, and Rogue Legacy on the Vita! I’ll take lots of pics!

  • Wow, that was fast. I didn’t expect Digital Devil Saga 2 to be released so soon. Guess I can finally get around to playing the first one now.

  • Aside Monster Hunter and Resident Evil, I don’t care much for those other titles.

Leave the kiddy stuff to the competition. What made people bought the PSP in stroves was that it was Hardcore and not focused on kiddy games…. like Vita Pets.

Know your demographic. Focus on more hardcore titles.

I’m not saying you should stop making platformers, but the Vita really needs some solid Mature/Teen rated games for your main audience.

BTW; Parents, they buy a cheap portable device for their kids because they’re cheap, and the Vita is the most expensive of all portable device. If the price point were reverse, things may be differently.

But, since it is more expensive; Then your target audience are more mature individuals with a passion for high end portable gaming… yet they’re left out in the cold in terms of games that might interest them.

And your competitor has gone into your territory with Resident Evil and Monster Hunter. Show them you’re no push over!

    www(dot)vgchartz(dot)com/platform/43/playstation-vita/

This chart seems to back up your main claim that AAA “hardcore” experiences sell best on Vita, especially in the U.S.

I think with games like Vita Pets, they’re trying to compete directly with the “other” handheld. They’re going after the more affluent parents and children with big allowances.

But frankly, Nintendogs sold well among youngish and middle-aged women (and plenty of men). The point being that not all consumers of “kiddy” stuff are children. Many will buy it, especially if there’s little else being released right now.

In turn, more people buying their device to play these other games will allow Sony to lower the price. Then even more people with tighter budgets can join the fun.

Or these are all bad ideas being thrown at a dead system.

Just my own 2 cents worth of speculation.

  • A small drop! E3 Hype Train is ongoing…

  • Yakuza series in PSN. Please”. Please”

  • Have fun Ryan!
    Beyond!!!!

  • man there is nothing good coming this tuesday. :(

  • Very interested in Enemy Front! With all of these recent historical WWII memorials and programs, it’s good timing to release a WWII game. Hopefully the developers added a strong 1-player campaign to properly tell the story and facts about Poland during that time.

  • So…did anyone actually BOUGHT SMT: DDS 2 or not? I want to know if with the whole emulation and all that we can still LOAD OUR DDS1 SAVE into DDS2 or not. =\
Please? Someone have mercy on me! Pleeeeeaaaseee! (yeah, ok, it was a bit too much xD )
