Hello everyone! On behalf of Deep Silver, producer Carsten Lindner and I are extremely proud to announce Dead Island 2. Right after the release of the original Dead Island, we started working to create a true sequel of our beloved franchise to bring the shared open world survival experience with its visceral close combat, amazing setting and the awesome four-player co-op to a whole new level.
After the first outbreak on Banoi in Dead Island 1, the world has moved on. Zombies are known and everyone feels safe and prepared. Companies are selling vaccines and the latest zombie survival kits and people believe that the disaster that occurred on a small island in the middle of nowhere could never happen to them.
But they were so WRONG!
Suddenly, a string of brutal outbreaks occur in California and the government puts a wall around the infected area – leaving California as a “Dead Island.” Dead? Not entirely, because let’s face it, a zombie apocalypse has its upsides as well: No boring job, no traffic jams, and no bills to pay.
This new zombie California invites you to become the ultimate hero of the apocalypse to explore a dynamic, bright, and beautiful open world where you and your friends fight endless zombie hordes with your handcrafted weapons. The combat system of the game has been redone from scratch to provide a more visceral experience and control than ever before, and you will need this control to overcome all the dynamic challenges and new enemy types the game will throw at you.
But the element we are most proud of is the seamless, social multiplayer. Here is where everything comes together to create a shared survival, dynamic open world — experience! Eight players are constantly sharing a world and it is up to you if you want to cooperate, compete or simply coexist. This creates the ultimate zombie playground where you can live this second chance in life.

Not sure why, and by the trailer it will continue.
Way to teach kids bad attitudes.
Giving buyers what they want is not always a good choice.
I love Resident Evil, and if I have to shoot zombies, the prefered choice.
Can’t wait to play this game love this series.
Maybe downplay the “zombie” exaltation.
And throw in a few scenes of the cleanup crews.
Anyway.
Awesome trailer, just like the one you did for first Dead Island, so surely Dead Island 2 will be just as terrible.

Wait, was that Jack Black at the end as the guy who picks up the shoes? It sounded like him plus the stuff he was wearing on his wrist are something he would wear.
The guy in the van who says “C’mon dude, time to split” sounds a lot like Aaron Paul. Anyways, this was THE game I was hoping to hear about and I am really excited for it. I would love to be a part of the bets for this. :)

Definitely NOT buying day one…… I’ll be watching reviews. Hope this isn’t as glitchy and stupid as the first one.

Meh, I’ll rent it. Dead island & Dead Island Riptide was plagued with bugs and glitches it made the game a pain to play. I hope it’s not the case with this game We shall see

@Rezolution77 To be fair this game wouldn’t get into the hands of children to teach them anything as long as a parent does their job and doesn’t buy them the game. I know that’s not going to happen in most cases, but it’s not the developers job to police who is able to get their hands on a game. If people had a little more common sense the problem would disappear. Hopefully this game won’t deliver la soggy turd like the first game did.

I have a very good question for the person who wrote the article or Sony themselves/representative, if the game escape from dead island is only on ps3 or old gen consoles and dead island 2 is only on ps4/Xbox 1 and you get a beta code for dead island 2 from preordering escape from dead island, will the beta be on ps3 also or only on next gen consoles? Just wondering? It would be good to know. Thank you
