  • @100 Haskell420 — That’s not a pricing problem, just a display problem (one they’d solved, or at least improved on, about a month or so ago and then abandoned, but ah well). The base price is $10, the base sale price is $5, and the Plus sale price is $2.50.

  • Really curious who is dumb enough to spend 60-70 dollars on a Preorder for a DIGITAL copy of a game coming out almost a year away? any takers?

  • Frodomec, I feel for you. I do. I’m not happy that Type-0 isn’t being released on Vita either.

But spamming the heck out of the PS Blog is no way to go about getting your voice heard. All you’re doing is annoying people. And not the people you’re trying to annoy either.

  • What a scam on the Canadian pricing. :(

  • Kinda blows my mind to have full-price pre-orders a year in advance. There will be so many pre-order deals offered at retailers before the release of the games, seems crazy to me.

  • PLUS is really useless for Vita,i’m happy to kill it forever.

  • Considering all the weird stuff your competition has done, why not just let people play music and media they own on PS4?

  • If this was really best of E3 2013 sale, then Infamous Second Son and Killzone ShadowFall would be in it too. But looking at other PS4 titles, the discounts are joke. PS+ members already have Contrast and Outlast. Discounts for NFS Rivals and BF4 are minimal and we’ll see MGS Ground Zeroes as a free game offer eventually in the future. So, the trend of showing no love to PSN continues.

  • Correction to @110: I meant no love to PS4.

  • LOL at canadians complaining about 5$ in europe they raised prices from 60 euros to 70 euros that is now $95 for the same psn download you guys get…

Remember sony is not your friends or for the gamers its FOR THE INVESTORS.

  • just added 10$ for MGS and now is 13 for ps3…great just great -__-

  • After watch the E3 conference, I only know one thing: ps vita is dead

  • Geez, there’s no reason to have PlayStation plus unless you want to play online if you have a PS4 absolutely nothing for the PS four week after week.

  • Oh man, barely even a week since I bought The Impossible Game at full price without ever hearing of it before (totally worth it, by the way), and here it is now on sale. Clearly Sony was waiting for me to purchase it before dropping the price, so you can all thank me now. I read all PSN messages, promise!

  • What’s up with Lego Marvel Superheroes, it doesn’t show up as discounted, neither for PS3 nor PS4.

  • Ready to jump on LEGO Marvel, but the discount hasn’t shown up.

  • So true about LEGO Marvel…

If I were interested in that game, I’d contact Sony support. As many of us have seen for several years now, this is a decent place to chat with other gamers but not the place to go for getting things done.

Nothing for me except to add Sly via the web store. Already have it on disc. Great game, though. Highly recommended to newcomers and veterans alike. And, you know, it costs nothing above your subscription cost (which you already paid).

  • I prefer digital vs physical but best buy, future shop and Amazon have all preorders at 30% if you preorder 3..

  • Metal Gear announced for a price and sold for another. I’m feeling aggrieved.

  • Rofl, first the FF Type-0 thing, now the Canadian pricing? Can you guys please tell me what would please you so you can stop all the whining and complaining?

  • @122 Remmy8199, man the FF Type-0 thing is silly. But the complaints for the jump in price is understandable considering we went the entire last generation without having to pay that much, and you’d probably be “whining” a little bit if you had to. Stop being such a nut hugger.

To the Canadians, you don’t seem to understand how these things work. One, prices are always eventually going to go up. It’s called inflation. Also, with the fluctuations of the Canadian dollar recently, combined with the strengthening of the US dollar, Sony needs to make sure they maintain the same profits for their games. And they’re not about to start charging $65.37 for a game that also sells in retail stores. They have to go with an even number that matches in both digital and physical versions. Otherwise nobody will buy the physical copies.

When it comes to taxes, they should not even be mentioned here. Your government controls that and Sony is not going to adjust how much they charge for a game based on taxes. That’s just ridiculous. Yes, it always sucks when prices go up, but you have to accept that it’s going to happen eventually. The games are only $5 more than what we pay in the us. It’s really not that bad. Just be happy we aren’t paying as much money for games as we did 20 years ago.

  • Sports Champions 1 and 2 is a steal at $2.50 each!

  • @123 lol, nut hugger? That’s a new one. Still, You have a point. I do feel bad for Canadian’s, Europeans, Americans (which I am), and Brazilians. They’re always getting the shaft when it comes to games.

  • Just 5 discounts for PS4 ?
    Sony doesn´t care for PS4 owners…..

  • @124 I get what you are saying, but the exchange rate is still only 0.9162, which doesn’t account for that high of a price jump. but it’s not just 5 bucks, if you look up most of those prices are 10 dollars more than what u are paying. And just us to “accept” that is kinda silly, and I’m not one for these kinda uproars, and maybe it is in part of the government being douches, but this is something that we shouldn’t roll over on. If those points you made were actually the case, then why aren’t all the other games for the ps3 going up too? Why is Far Cry 4 for ps3 the same price in the US as it is in CA?

  • After watching what Sony thinks of the Vita… Vita has died.

Indies are good source of support, but that cannot be the only kind of games a console has. Neither ports.

Sony created the best handheld ever made, for what?? To run Android and IOS?
For streaming a bigger console games that I’ve plugged to a 42′ LED in the other room???? USELESS…… NO POINT AT ALL….

I was thinking on buying the PS4, but after the seeing how they killed the Vita by neglecting it, I’m not so sure about supporting any more consoles from Sony.
For what I know, as soon as many people get the PS4, they’ll start working on PS5 and stop supporting PS4… I won’t get caught in that loop.

  • wow I just start messaging and my comments are now getting moderated? nice

  • @129 you can’t call someone a nut hugger without being modded. Lol..

  • that last one wasn’t moderated….. #128 is though, i think because i said “maybe it is in part of the government being d****es”

  • yeah, totally not being modded for that lol, none of those messages are getting modded

  • being canadian i dont like the price change in games. u can buy games like i have been buying. i buy a US psn card on line, think its like 2 bucks more. log into a US account and buy the game. then log back into ur canadian account and play. easy as 1 2 3.

  • maybe I’ll just reiterate a lil’
@124 I get what you are saying, but the exchange rate is still only 0.9162, which doesn’t account for that high of a price jump. but it’s not just 5 bucks, if you look up most of those prices are 10 dollars more than what u are paying. • that worked

  • MGS: Ground Zeroes for the (best of 2013 sale) advertised price was $14.98 I noticed the price changed to $18.89 why? Was it a mistake? :-/

  • Someone at Sony please explain the price differences between US & Canada?

Because there is no freaking reason whatsoever for a $10 difference NONE other than to be greedy and rip off your loyal customers in Canada! The fact that you raised the price of the PS4 and all it’s accessories was bad enough but now the games??? I’ve been a hardcore loyal Sony fan since the beginning you are about to lose me as a customer and others I’m sure also.

  • So how about that LEGO Marvel Superhero discount? Still not showing up in the store. Sony, pls.

  • It looks like the MGS Ground Zero’s $14 price has been removed from the original blog post and “corrected” to the current price of $18. So now they don’t have to come here and say “sorry guys, we made a mistake”, they can just pretend like it never happened, as usual.

It’s mind boggling how bad Sony is at social media. It’s all a one-way communication, they never respond to anything on the blog, Twitter, etc. Unless you post about how awesome they are, then they’ll respond. The more I read this blog, the more I see them ignoring customers, the more my opinion of Sony drops. At this rate, I’ll be picking up an XBox the next time there’s a “next gen” console released.

Anyone ever expecting Sony to actually respond to customer questions or complaints here is wasting their time. Might as well go yell at a wall, you’ll get the same response. Their blog team must be living in some dreamland where everything is sunshine and roses, or more likely they just don’t give a crap.

  • Is it true Sony confirmed no audio cds, mp3s, 3d blurays, dlna, and bluetooth remotes for the ps3 ar e3? Or is it, as some suggest, an active decision to ignore these features in lieu of Sony’s paid services?

  • Lego Marvel Super Heroes is not on sale. It shows full price.

  • By the way, for Canadians who might be interested, Amazon.ca currently has an E3 pre-order sale on. Almost all of the games listed in this post are $59.50 plus you get up to 30% off when pre-ordering (although it looks like it averages out to around 18%). You don’t pay until the game ships and you can cancel your pre-order and/or return the game unopened within 30 days if you wish.

A much better deal than paying $70 for a digital copy, having your credit card charged immediately, and not being able to get a refund unless it’s “required by law”.

Also, for those who have trouble with math, $69.99 is $10 more than $59.99 so Canadians aren’t complaining about a $5 increase. If anything, these games should be $64.99 if Sony wanted their pricing to be more in line with exchange rate differences.

  • Also very disappointed that the MGS: Ground Zeroes PS4 price changed from $14.69 to $18.89. I woke up this morning all ready to purchase at the advertized price and now I cant. I may not get this at all now. I know $4.20 doesn’t seem like a lot of money but I def feel jipped. Please correct this!!!

  • So no PS3 E3 app ! Thanks Sony !

  • @143, that’s how I’m doing my pre-orders from now on

  • As a Canadian….I really don’t care about the prices. Eventually they are going to get reduced….I will only get them all cheaper anyways.

Never bought a day 1 game for PS3(have too many in the backlog to play anyways), or PS4.

However for Vita so far I bought at least 10 day 1 purchases physically. Probably because it is 20 dollars cheaper and how much I game handheld in comparison to console.

  • @Canada,

IF you disagree with the price hike. Do not buy. Wait until it is on sale, or at a lower MSRP after 120 days. Your money talks louder than your typing on a blog. I don’t agree with the EU price either.

I realize that the US $60 is cheaper than other regions. But I won’t buy at $60 either. I wait, they always hit $30 in 6 months. I just wait it out. I know, not playing the hot game with the in crowd isn’t great. But I’m paying the price I want and telling game companies what price I want.

    @Sony

Nice fine print on the terrible pre-orders. You put up a pre-order for a game that isn’t coming until 2015. I expected it in Holiday 2015, but based on Pre-order, I wonder if it is march for UC4.

  • smoothboarder540

@142 Swotam I don’t know if you’re referring to me but I never said it was a $5 increase. I also don’t believe that is what other people meant either. Obviously it is a $10 increase. What I’m saying is that you are paying $5 more than what we are paying when comparing the values of both dollars. Now why Sony picked $70 instead of $65 is because they need a consistent number that they believe will cover whatever profit margin they are going for. These games are coming out way in the future. What if the value of the Canadian dollar drops even more by then? Some experts say that will happen. And Sony can’t just start charging whatever the current exchange rate is. That would turn into a mess and will probably bring more negativity than this change does. If they charge $65 now and the value of the Canadian dollar actually goes up, should the people who buy the game at launch get to buy the game for $60? Every game would be a different price.

  • smoothboarder540

Now I haven’t paid any attention to what the price of games has been in Canada, but if it has been $60, then you guys have had it easy over the last few years. When looking at the exchange rate over that period, you have been paying less than the US for the most part.

Sony is in the business of making money, not being people’s friend. If they see the possibility that they wont make as much money as they planned, they will take actions to counter that. $70 games in Canada is the result. If the value of the US dollar starts to tumble, you can bet Sony will raise the price in the US too.
