Farming Simulator 14 Out Now on PS Vita

Hi PlayStation readers, this is Thomas Frey Art Director from Giants Software.

Today is the release day for our new handheld version of Farming Simulator on PlayStation Vita. To celebrate the coming launch, we’re excited to share with you our launch trailer!

Some of you might already have played the PC or console versions of Farming Simulator, and thanks to your support, this franchise has become a multiple-million-seller worldwide!

We answered the community call, developing from scratch this handheld version so that you can bring your farm wherever you’re going and farm whenever you want!

In Farming Simulator 14 on Vita, you face the challenges of a modern farmer, raising livestock (cows), growing crops, selling produce, managing, and developing your own farming complex in a vast and colorful world. As you progress in the game, you will unlock a vast array of new machinery and agricultural vehicles, faithfully reproduced from actual vehicles from major manufacturers, such as Case IH, Deutz-Fahr, Lamborghini, Kuhn, Amazone, Krone and many others.

You will control new vehicles and machinery to develop your farm on a brand new map. Cultivate your fields, manage your livestock and sell your produce in a dynamic market to acquire new equipment, vehicles and fields, and to hire workers to help you in your daily tasks.

  • This is the stupidest idea for a video game ever. The price is way too high and the whole deal is a slap in the face of vita owners.

  • @yowzagabowza, you may want to look at that note to the right: OPEN TO EVERYONE, BUT DON’T BE A JERK. You may not care about the game, I know it’s not my thing, but, you know, don’t be a jerk.

  • FARMING! F**K YEA!

  • @yowzagabowza You sir, are insane.

  • Thanks for making games for the vita!

  • The dubstep farming simulator videos on YouTube would’ve sold this game better than the trailer shown above. ;)

  • PS Vita finally has its killer app. That’s the happiest family in the world.

  • Wasn’t last year’s version $9.99…?!

Platinumed that one, but not dropping an extra 20 bones this year.

  • If it is as easy as the last one to Platinum…..the trophy lovers will go bonkers.

  • That trailer was pretty awful

And @yowzagabowza, just so you know, the 2013 edition of this game was actually pretty popular

What I personally would prefer though is Euro Truck simulator. Reminds me of ‘Cross Country Canada’ a game they made us play in school here. And I say ‘made’ us play but it was incredibly fun.

  • I got no words

  • WOOOOWW FARMING…..YOU PEOPLE HAPPY OVER A FARMING GAME MEANWHILE THE VITA IS NOT GETTTING NO AAA GAMES…AND BARELY ANY NEW GOOD GAMES…..

  • @12 Really? Was that worth your time? Anyway, impressed by the 2013 demo, always meant to pick up the full game.

  • Regardless of the type of game, but I’d rather pay $3.36 on the tablet version of that $30 for the vita.

If they will make ports, would be good to not overdo your price.

I’m not saying you have to be the same price, $ 10 still think it would be fair, but not 10 times more

  • Just some feedback. I’d be interested in this a lot more if it included more animals. Just cows? That’s not very appealing at all. You gotta have more variety, and ways to utilize them in game (Bulls, horses, goats, sheep, chickens, etc.). The more the better.

  • Wake me up when you announce Euro Truck Simulator on PS4. Then I will listen.

  • This hits retail shelves but Soul Sacrifice Delta does not. Anyway does this game have a platinum trophy?

  • If this is what your are going to do with the vita, then just stop selling them.

  • So, can I bring a save from Farming Simulator PS Vita to Farming Simulator 2014?

  • Howzabout a badass PS4 version? I’d definitely be interested. Also, I would LOVE to see a Euro Truck Simulator on PS4. I logged countless hours into ETS 2 on Steam and loved every bit of it. Driving all night, listening to the internet radio. Such great stuff.

  • I think ETS 2 on PS4 would get me to buy a PS4. I’ve gotten way too good at parking those trailers to let the skill go to waste.

  • No thanks, I’d rather play Harvest Moon.

  • @Giga_Gaia

Can you drive tractors in Harvest Moon? No? Didn’t think so. I much prefer this game over the Harvest Moon.

  • Thanks for bringing this to Vita. Just in time for summer.

  • Will there be a “Colorado” DLC so we can farm the good stuff? ;-)

  • @PanTheMan16

    Agreed.

    @Ratchet426

Was that comment really neccessary? And what purpose would that “DLC” serve? I would think that corn would be far better than what you’re calling “good stuff” Certainly a lot more uses, and productive ones at that.

  • The Vita needs more games and less simulators; unless it’s goat simulator. (no not on ps4)

  • They should at least consider the price on Android market is 2.99. Why is this game 10 times more than playing on my 10″ tablet? What is different about it to justify the price difference?

  • Sounds boring like another farming game that starts with harvest and have moon in the title somewhere so zzzzzzz

  • I won’t bash the game for the concept because I haven’t played it, but seriously Sony this is pathetic. I was going to get a ps4 before all of this bull but you obviously don’t want to support your systems anymore and cramming every dev into a handful of games on ps4 is just going to make for inefficiencies in game development and disconnects in the final product that make people think “What the hell were they thinking?”.

  • This is relatively unrelated to you as a publisher.

But it’s so frustrating that this game can get a retail release, while Tecmo Koei refuses to put out Atelier at retail, even Sony refuses to put it’s few first/second party games at retail. Even limited. Even retailer exclusive… even limiting physical to preorders, ala; Class of Heroes 2G…

    Ugh.

  • @31: lolwat, all their first party developers are on PS4. Plus 2nd party partnerships and of course 3rd parties with the best versions of multiplats on consoles.

    Shoo with your derpness.

  • @Giga_Gaia:
Thanks for reminding me, havn´t been playing Harvest Moon for ages.
And it´s 6$ for Harvest Moon: Back To Nature

  • This is a chicken-egg type deal. On the one hand, I want to support the Vita, but I’m not willing to pay $29.99 for the game when I can buy other versions on other portable platforms for significantly cheaper. I guess I should be grateful for the $29.99 price point since the publisher’s online store sells the game for $10 more!

I would consider the digital version if it was cheaper, but it is also listed at the same $29.99 price point, which is ridiculous considering that the advantage of digital media means cheaper production costs, and no possibility of lost sells via flipping the game as pre-owned.

If I do not buy the game, and the game does’t have good numbers, this will just be another reason that the Vita is not a sold platform to publish games. This is a frustrating situation because the Vita is a solid platform, but Sony does’t want to support it and really does’t know how to work with their partners to price games such as this one.

  • This is a Nightmare, please Sony wake up before it’s too late!

  • Your_crazy_uncle

It’s ridiculous that this game will be hitting the shelves but Soul Sacrifice Delta was never given a chance. Why won’t you release that game in a physical format? I don’t want to buy a game that at some point in the future may be taken off the store (like Marvel Vs Capcom 2).

  • Thanks for bringing it to the Vita! I enjoyed the previous version. Gonna be honest: $30 is a little steep, I’ll wait for a sale/price drop

  • Please guys, stop insulting the game developpers. There are plenty of people that love these type of games (although I’m not one of them, I know someone who clocked in more than 400 hours on the PC version). The problem is not with the developper who actually chose to do a Vita version. The problem lies with SONY that don’t want to support the Vita anymore with first or second party titles. It is NOT the fault of GIANTS software if Sony chose to abandon the Vita and turn it into a PS4 accessory instead.

I agree that this isn’t the type of games that will make the Vita sell more units. But localized japanese games aren’t either, btw. They are niche titles, but far from being “system sellers”.

Sony should take a cue from Nintendo. They also have a system that is selling well (the 3DS), but lately, they’ve been putting a lot more effort into their home console to boost sales.

Anyway, people, it is NOT cool to shout at the developpers of Farming Simulator while the problem lies with SONY. Not GIANTS Software.

  • Whoohoo farming.

Maybe put in the ability more like Sims, and a wife with daisy dukes encouraging you on the farm and you might get popular.

I agree with the Harvest Moon statement.

  • Are there any uses of Vita-specific features, like rear touch, rear/front camera, AR cards, etc?

I don’t mind paying a bit more for a Vita version of a game if it takes advantage of the hardware, but just having physical controller support isn’t enough of a value-add for a $20 boost in price.

  • Please, Sony, publish Rock Watcher Simulator 2 for Vita

  • How I wish this was a Harvest Moon game for the vita. I got my start with Harvest Moon for PS2 and I’ve loved it ever since.

  • GOAT SIMULATOR FOR PS VITA Please!!!
