Q. I’ve already redeemed my Destiny Beta code on Bungie.net. Now what?

On July 10th, you’ll be able to visit your profile page on Bungie.net and select the platform of your choice. For PlayStation systems, you’ll also need to select a region.

On July 17th, we’ll begin emailing PlayStation players their Destiny Beta codes.

On July 23rd, we’ll begin emailing Xbox players their Destiny Beta codes.

Destiny Beta codes will also be visible via your Account Profile/Redeemed Codes page, secured behind your login credentials.

I would really like to upgrade from PSN Pre-order to Digital Guardian Edition or Limited Edition. Is there a way to do this and just have it shipped? I don’t want to have to fool w/ the disc but I would like to have the disc to this game as a keepsake if that makes sense.

If you pre-ordered Destiny digitally through PSN on PlayStation 4 and are wondering where your Beta code is, fear not! We now have official word from Bungie and Sony that you are being looked after.

When the Beta draws nearer (July 17th if you didn’t know), you will receive an email or direct message through the PlayStation Network with details on how the Beta will work. Keep in mind, you will NOT receive a Beta code through this pre-order method. When the time comes, your Beta access will be provided automatically as a reward from your digital pre-order.

In short, do not fret. You will all be able to access the Beta come July 17th.

Wow, people surely are downvoting the post.

All I have to say is: if you want additional content post-release, you’ll want to get the Limited Edition.

I wish there was a way to get the Ghost Edition with a digital copy of the game.

I imagine myself playing Destiny a lot, and not having to worry about the disc always being in the drive is a big deal.

Dear Bungie

This is from behalf of all the destiny fans. Alot of people have pre-ordered your newest game destiny. But theres a problem, we have bought the game a while back and now the limited edition and the ghost edition are out and there is no refunds on the game and there no option to upgrade to a different edition of the game and so the people that want the limited edition/ghost edtion cant get it. So Bungie if your reading this please consider the following.

If you already pre-ordered Destiny digitally from the PSN Store a while ago would it be possible to upgrade it to the digital deluxe edition????????

There needs to be an option for those of us that pre-ordered this game through PSN to upgrade to the Destiny Digital Guardian Edition for $30 since that is the difference in price. To not offer that as an option though would be a horrible slap in the face to the people who are being loyal both to Sony and Bungie for pre ordering so early.

This will be my favorite game of the year with The Last Of Us Remastered. Not a fan of FPS unless it’s FC3 or Deus Ex. This one look fantastic much more than a FPS too.

@PrettyMuchEveryoneWhoHasPostedSoFar

This is yet another great example of why Digital pre-orders from a store that refuses to offer refunds, never offers pre-order discounts, and charges you immediately is a bad idea. If you had pre-ordered from pretty much any other retailer you would be able to cancel or upgrade your order. With Sony, you’ll get to beg and plead and maybe they’ll do something. Maybe.

I would try to be surprised that Sony didn’t anticipate everyone asking about this and have an answer prepared, but somehow I’m not surprised at all…

As someone who *just* pre-ordered the digital edition last week, it would be great if Sony and Bungie could let us know how we could upgrade to the digital guardian edition.

76

+ Swotam on July 7th, 2014 at 12:52 pm said:

@73 Casshern14 The Playstation exclusive content will be included in-game, probably via a download code inside the case. At least it will be if they do it the way pretty much every other PS-exclusive offer is done.

If you order digitally it should added to your download queue when the game is released.

I’m with so many others in that I already pre-ordered the game on the PSN and would like to upgrade. Please make this an option sometime soon and let us know as soon as it is possible. This is my most anticipated game of the year so far and I’d feel cheated if I didn’t have the option to get all the extras just because I was too excited for this game already and pre-ordered.

84

+ wjang on July 7th, 2014 at 1:33 pm said:

I’m guessing they’ll make the digital deluxe edition content available at a 59.99 dollars off for people who have already pre-ordered the game on PSN. If not, then WTF.

If I can’t get a refund of the regular version and am unable to upgrade for 30 to Digital Guardian Edition I will no longer be pre-ordering items from PSN.

Not worth the hassle of being charged immediately and not being able to get a refund if you change your mind.

Pay as much as a physical disc, we take your money now, and you can’t ever get your money back… great idea!

+ sheltont30 on July 7th, 2014 at 1:47 pm said:

Well…I was hoping to see an answer from the comment around 10:30am this morning but still no news at 4:45pm. I bought MLB: The Show on PSN and had trouble getting the game to download. I felt like Sony fixed everything in the end and was satisfied. I decided to try again and hold out hope that we can upgrade the purchase. I’d rather be able to get the Limited Edition w/ the special case as a keepsake…and not have to worry about the disc at the same time but that’s just wishful thinking. Sitting, waiting, wishing. I’m sure Sony will come through though. They have learned a lot through the years and I’ve been very impressed so far.

I would be shocked if Sony and Bungie didn’t expect that people would want to upgrade to the digital CE, so I’m looking forward to seeing if there is anything in place for those of us wanting to do so. I’m not gonna wait terribly long though, because a long wait without comment will mean that they goofed up. At that point I will contact customer support and ask them to cancel the pre-order, put the money in my PSN wallet, and use it to pre-order the digital CE.

+ gold_og_roger on July 7th, 2014 at 2:25 pm said:

The special edition looks sweet. I wish this was available with the digital versions or available for PSN pre-orders. I’ve been avoiding buying discs for a while now. Anyhow, I’ll be getting the PS3 Ghost edition from Amazon, since I can gift the disc version, to a friend that does not have a PS4 yet. Bungie, will the DLC and expansions be Cross-buy for PS3/4? It should be done. ( I can’t believe the PS4 Ghost edition already sold on Amazon, in under three hours !?)

Upgrades for digital pre-orders are an issue that isn’t going to go away. Much like pre-loads, it’s an expected feature for a digital pre-order. I understand if the process isn’t perfect for Destiny, but you’ll need to find some sort of temporary fix before launch, and come up with something more permanent that you can implement later this year or early next.
