  • @zepified You’re not missing anything. If people are excited to play this new Oddworld on their vita they probably should have kept up with the news of the game. If people get mad, they should only be mad at them cause it’s there own dang faults.

    Rage over. :)

Semi, not really excited for R&C. For no physical. I’ll need to see the size, price and how the game holds up. Still glad Americas got it.

  • *Only be mad at them cause…

  • They also delayed the release (Maybe for a retail release?!) to the 29th.

“Update: Ratchet & Clank Collection on PS Vita will launch on 7/29 as opposed to 7/22. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

  • Sony has made me regret buying a Vita. I love the system but those #$^$#@^ing MEMORY CARDS…..WTeFF? There is no reason on the planet why Vita memory card is so dang expensive. Just keep ignoring us Sony. Keep up the bad work.

  • Ok. you got an extra week to put that ratchet and clank inside a plastic cart and put that cart inside a case and on the shelves.. get to it…

  • No Ratchet and Clank now? Booo. My wallet remains unopened to Sony this week.

  • “Sorry for the inconvenience”, well, to make up for this inconvenience Sony, you must listen to your customers and release a retail copy for ratchet and clank on vita, only then will you make us happy!

  • No, they won’t release a Ratchet and Clank vita retail version, SCEA is incompetent when it comes to the Vita. They’ve given up after they charge us $100 for a tiny 32 GB memory stick, release a third of the games on only PSN, then delay a game that got zero publicity the night before it was supposed to be released. Thanks SCEA.

    ***Speculation***

Some retailer called them out on releasing the game digitally before the retail version could be sold. So they’re releasing both next week.

    ***End speculation***

Of course I made that up, but it makes sense. Would be nice for those wanting a retail version. Not so much for those wanting to play digitally later today.

Either way, next week’s Drop is likely the next time we’ll find out anything (on this site, anyway).

  • WHAT IS WITH YOU AND YOUR STUPID DIGITAL ONLY NONSENSE.

Not only did you never announce R&C Collection (Vita) in North America. Despite it being a series brought into the world by a developer in NA, published by SCEA. It’s a SCEA property. It’s one of Sony’s biggest IPs. It’s getting a movie next year.

Yet this game can’t even get a retail release? What the hell Sony? Why do you keep doing this to Vita?

Stop it. With this crap and your higher ups constantly talking like Vita owners should be happy with zero first party AAA games, indies and niche Japanese games*. It’s just enough. Plus with you not producing enough units to actually sell.

    STOP IT. Do better.

*I love indies and love niche Japanese games, but I want more games like Killzone: Mercenary and Uncharted: Golden Abyss… and apparently, we’ll never see them.

  • I really only logged in to say one thing and I hope someone from Sony reads this…but the VITA memory cards is why the VITA is FAILING. The price of the VITA memory cards is absolutely horrible. I absolutely REFUSE to buy anymore VITA memory cards until the price is reasonable. a 64gb micro sd card for my phone is $37, but for my Vita its $100 ….how is that even remotely reasonable. Do you know how many games I have NOT bought because of these ridiculous prices. I’m tired of deleting and reinstalling my games. So basically i just stopped buying games i play what i have and when I finish, if I even care about the game anymore..then I buy it. But guess what…9 times out of 10, I don’t buy it because my interest has shifted to something else. So sony if you want me to continue to support my VITA, you need to severly slash the price of the memory cards. Becaues THIS guy isn’t paying $100 for a 64gb card.

  • i notice that eu has treasures of montezuma: arena for vita now for a few weeks. any chance of this game coming to NA store anytime soon.

  • well, we’ve been waiting a good while for the ratchet and clank trilogy to come out in the US. but, i’m just happy that we finally got a release date in the US. I just hope that the 29th is the ACTUAL release date. But i’m just happy that i KNOW that the R&C trilogy is actually coming to the US. :)

  • Part of me is glad that the Racthet & Clank collection for the Vita is getting released at all over here. I mean, it’s one of Sony flagship franchises, made by an NA developper, yet, there was no official annoucement, no release date, no one at Sony trying to build some hype for a title that many Vita owners were waiting for. It was released a couple of weeks ago in europe in australia, and yet, not a single word from SCEA about it. At some point, I tought it would never get release over here.

So in a sense, I’m glad it’s getting released over here.

I just hope that it’s going to get a physical release, and that the postponing of the release date has to do with SCEA being messed up and not being aware that it’s going to be released in physical format next week, and not wanting the digital version to be out before the physical one. I hope that’s the reason behind the postponing.

Which brings me to my next point… SCEA, please, please, please, please, please… fire your marketing and communications heads and hire competent people that actually care about your customers.

  • I’m in the UK and it’s 16:30 but Oddworld doesn’t appear to be available for download yet. Thought it was supposed to available from today?!

  • OH YES thank God Ratchet & Clank is being delayed one week! As much as I wanted to play it today I’d much rather play it bug-free and physical… PLEASE Sony? Can you do this for us? Just PLEASE put the game in a cartridge like SCE of Europe did. Everyone wants that and now you have time to do it! For all your fans, this is what we want the most right now. Please.

  • Need a retail version of Ratchet! That’s it I’m importing one of those 64 gig cards. Has anyone had any problems with those?

  • Putting aside my comments and those of others…

The decision to release R&C physically would need to have been made months ago in order for the game to be on store shelves a week from now.

There’s no evidence that there will be a physical release next week (or any other time really), but we can still hope. :)

@The-Dealer: This is the NA Blog. Our store updates at roughly 2pm Pacific Time (U.S.). It’s possible to access it from the UK, but I assume you mean the EU store. That doesn’t update until Wednesday. (Not sure about the time.) Check the EU Blog for further updates.

  • @shadow15972

so shadow, buddy… if I and everyone else should have “kept up with the news,” why is it that everyone else like me assumed the Vita version was coming this week. I’m not the only one who thought all versions were coming at the same time. Those of us who are very VERY excited about this game have been following all of the news about it for a long time now. In fact, for heckuva it, I just did a search on Google to pull up all the news released about Oddworld going a few months back and nowhere did I find a different date given for the Vita version as compared to the PS4 version. What I did find was everything I’ve already seen and read a hundred times… nothing about different release dates. Look, the fact is there was no different date given for the Vita version… go check for yourself. Even the OT over on NeoGaf didn’t know about the different release dates… they found out around the same time as the rest of us.

  • ^^^^continued from above^^^^

Honestly, I don’t really care now about a different release date for the Vita version (and PS3ver.)… I’m a patient person. However what I do care about, AND what I don’t like is someone pointing their finger at me telling me it’s all my fault that I didn’t know something that wasn’t announced or officially known to the public.

So next time before you go “raging” at someone, make sure you actually know what you’re talking, or sorry, raging about. Or at least provide some proof to back-up your so-called “raging” so that you don’t look like a complete fool!!! Thanx for your time & have fun with the masterpiece that is Oddworld: New n’ Tasty!!!

  • @zepified Okay, first. Don’t tell me I’m a fool when you are looking like a fool yourself and telling me I’m pointing fingers. I was merely saying you should have kept up with the news. And if you were “following it for a long time” you probably should have been interested in the pre order since you would get ‘bonuses’ for getting a game you were gonna buy at launch most likely anyways. Two how about you read what was posted on July 14 on the blog.

“We’re still trying to launch the PS3 and PS Vita versions as soon as possible after the PS4 version. Until then, we’ve ensured that Remote Play from PS4 to PS Vita works perfectly, and the game really shines on Vita’s screen.”

Does that sound like it’s coming out the same time? Didn’t think so. Since you want stuff to “back-up” what I said go up to tags on the right side by the rating and click on “Oddworld new n tasty” and look at “Oddworld: New N Tasty pre order bonuses detailed” it’s the second to last line.

    Good day.

  • It needs to be discussed and NOT IGNORED that what Poster 111 said hit the nail in the head. The Vita is FAILING because of SONY and their inhumane memory card prices. Making everything digital then expecting you to pony up for a 32 gb or making you delete and reinstall is dumb. WHY IS THIS NEVER ADDRESSED?

  • Hope Ratchet & Clank gets a retail release! Tired of this joke with PS Vita fans! I don’t want to import European R&C Collection because the Boxart is terrible and my HD Collections look really cool with the same pattern!

Unhappily if Ratchet & Clank doesn’t get a boxed release I’ll not buy it!

No Physical release = No sale!

    Sorry SONY!

  • And I can’t find Ratchet and Clank in ANY store. None of the retailers like walmart or gamestop, best buy or target have even heard of the game coming to vita and couldn’t even be preorderd AND it’s not even in their inventor. Sigh…
