Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition

The first major content update for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition is coming today! We’re so excited to deliver patch 2.1.0 to PS4 and can’t wait for you to venture into The Vault, explore the murky corners of The Cesspools, level up your Legendary Gems, and find out just how far you can push your hero in Greater Rifts.

So, what’s new and improved in patch 2.1.0? Let’s take a look!

The “What’s New” Screen

A “What’s New” screen will now appear whenever a player logs into the game (and presses “Start” at the Main Menu) after a new patch has been installed. As the name suggests, this screen will provide a quick overview of new features included in the patch.

The Vault

Whenever Treasure Goblins are defeated, there’s now a chance they will spawn a new type of portal through which players can enter. Inside this mysterious new realm known as “The Vault,” mighty treasures await… along with Sanctuary’s newest boss: the Baroness Greed.

For more information about The Vault, click here.

Please note that portals to The Vault can only be accessed in Adventure Mode, and that they will not appear inside Nephalem Rifts or Greater Rifts.

The Cesspools

When adventuring in Nephalem Rifts and Greater Rifts, players will have a chance to encounter a new randomized environment: The Cesspools. Originally designed as the sewers of Westmarch, this festering, dank underworld is ready to explore and plunder!

Greater Rifts

Greater Rifts are a special type of timed Nephalem Rift. There are an infinite number of Greater Rift levels, and each level will be progressively more difficult than the last. Upon completing a Greater Rift, players will be able to choose between one of two rewards: a chance to upgrade their Legendary Gems or (if they complete the Greater Rift level within its allotted time) the opportunity to move on to the next Greater Rift level. Players can continue progressing through Greater Rift levels so long as they complete the current Rift level before its timer expires.

For more information about Greater Rifts, click here.

Please note that Greater Rifts can only be accessed in Adventure Mode.

Ramaladni’s Gift

Ramalandni’s Gift is a new Legendary item that will allow players to add a socket to any weapon that does not already have one. This item can drop randomly in the game world and will be consumed on use.

For more information on Ramaladni’s Gift, click here.

Legendary Gems

Legendary Gems are a new type of gem that can drop in Greater Rifts and The Vault and will offer powerful abilities when socketed into Rings and Amulets. Players will have the opportunity to upgrade their Legendary Gems over time by completing Greater Rifts.

Good luck, nephalem. We wish you fortune and glory in your continued adventures across Sanctuary!

Shame there’s no proper hard saving in this. Having to repeat sections in 2014 is unacceptable.

…….you mean you haven’t figured out how to force a save yet?

Looking forward to it! But is there any chance that the patch will drop for PS3 in the near future as well?

Nope. I see the blue save icon occasionally, but when I power off and come back at a different time I have to crawl through the tedious respawning creatures and work back down through the dungeons.

I’ve been looking to trade it back in while it’s still new, but amazon over here aren’t accepting them yet :(

So the legendary Blizzard support shows itself on the PS4! Amazing update and support. DIIIRoSUEE is right up there with Shadow of Mordor for my favorite PS4 games of 2014! Keep up the great work and thanks for an exceptional game!

blaackstarr7 said:

@moog all you have to do is press the option button and quit and it will save your game for you right there.

+ moog

You don’t even know what you are talking about.

If you mean story mode… end bosses dont respawn but normal enemies do.

If you mean adventure mode, enemies always respawn.

The game is about loot not spending time clearing every enemy in the game. You probably don’t know what you are doing.

Just now finding out that will Blizzard will not be supporting the PS3 version with patches, only next Gen. Not cool Blizzard, would not have bought this game if I’d known that.

moog said:

October 7th, 9:06 am

Thanks blaackstarr7, but I always quit through the menus, and not simply bailout through the OS.

@Johnson, I shouldn’t have to reach a boss and kill it before saving state in story mode. Working through various dungeon levels should not need to be repeated when I’m following the story. If that’s how the game is, it’ll be gone soon enough.

@moog

You clearly haven’t played Diablo before. Diablo is a grind it out, rinse and repeat type of game. You should be happy to continuously kill the same monsters over and over… THEY DROP PHAT LOOT!

so, any chance of the PS3 users seeing this or will i have to rebuy the game for the ps4 just to see the content?

should offer the upgrade for a nominal fee like minecraft and the launch ps4 titles. (black flag, battlefield)

Any idea what time this update will hit?

PS3 won’t get the update as it and xbox360 don’t have the cpu to run it correctly.

Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss I’ve been sooo addicted to this game lately, I LOVE it! Thank you for the update!

@moog
This hack and slash action rpg game, it’s a diablo game, all diablo clone games (torchlight1-2, path of exile, grim dawn, marvel heroes 2015 online) work the same way, you have infinite amount of monster to slay with various difficulties and you have enormous amount of loot, the story is just a theme a flavor. After you’ve done with it, people are playing this game for hundreds or thousands of hours.
This the whole point of the game, that’s why it exists. How the heck did you pick it up even, without knowing what you would buy, do some research before, or you could have played the demo.
I’m playing it on pc too, http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/IchigoMait-2875/career close to 700 hours of playtime.

I haven’t played a Diablo game this much since Diablo 1 on PC. Keep the updates a-comin’!

djsaiyan said:

October 7th, 10:36 am

Well I was going to explain to you how to force a save moog but you clearly don’t like Diablo if you think working your way through mobs is tedious, so you’re probably better off trading it in.

jimmyfoxhound said:

October 7th, 10:39 am

djsaiyan could you tell me how to force a save? I’m interested to know. I usually exit to the menu screen before quitting the game but I want to be sure, it makes me nervous!

Rezolution77 said:

October 7th, 10:48 am

If there is no patch expected for PS3, it shows why so few games I purchase are Day 1.
You clearly want rentals / exchanges instead of actual buyers.

So glad I waited.
Maybe when its alot less, when I am almost done with my PS3.

Rainwater said:

October 7th, 10:49 am

No patch for PS3/Xbox360 sucks, but I get it. Thanks for an amazing last gen console game anyway.

PSN_Tokeio said:

October 7th, 10:52 am

You can force a save by modifying your banner.

djsaiyan said:

October 7th, 10:53 am

Port back to town and change your banner. As long as you change one item, it’ll force a save.

However the map changes and all enemies (aside from story bosses) will respawn, because it’s Diablo and that’s how Diablo rolls.

MTJohnson1977 said:

October 7th, 10:56 am

+moog

No. There are a million objectives on the way to the boss fight. Once they are complete they are done. It auto saves as you complete objectives on the way to the boss. Do you have to rewalk to the boss? Of course, but not very far.. They don’t just slap you in front of the boss room.

I think you need to read more about the game because you aren’t making sense unless your autosave is turned off somehow.

Benstamania said:

October 7th, 10:58 am

@Moog is this your first Diablo game or something? No one really gives a crap about the story in Diablo, it’s all about the grind And getting sweet, sweet gear.
