The Drop

This week, Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami’s latest effort in horror comes to PS4 and PS3, courtesy of The Evil Within. As Detective Sebastian Castellanos, fight for survival amidst a deranged world filled with vile creatures and deadly ghouls. Navigate a city gone wrong, where every scavenged bullet and patch of shadow can save Sebastian’s life. Upgrade his abilities, endure horrific visions, and unravel the evil forces plaguing Crimson City.

But if you scare a little too easily, don’t worry: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel launches this week on PS3. Witness the origin story of Handsome Jack with four new Vault Hunters and a seemingly endless stream of sweet, sweet loot. Use the low gravity of Pandora’s moon to gain the high ground, and obliterate your enemies with new laser weapons and ice bullets. And Claptrap. Always Claptrap.

Oh, bonus news: Minecraft is coming to PS Vita. For a full list of new games hitting PlayStation this week, read on. And enjoy the Drop!

Evil Within Pre ordered. Cant wait for that. For anyone wanting to know it is a midnight EST release on digital. I do wish Borderlands was current gen :( if it is really good I will get it for my PC but would have loved a PS4 version for co-op and trophies.

Drive Club is the most broken game ever produced from an SCE studio. Online doesn’t work at all, chronic messages that bug the user while playing standalone, and features that were meant to be a draw to the game are constantly hindered.

I love how the game feels and drives, but even with the full product I still feel like I’m playing a demo with a half baked AI. Why didn’t Sony stress test this game like Uncharted Multiplayer or Killzone Multiplayer? What happened to that Sony drive for quality in Sony games? Granted this more of an exception than the Rule, but I feel like Sony really dropped the ball with this one. I’m kind of hoping those of us who invested early will get some sort of consolidation for buying a broken product.

Hey, Ryan,

we got noone else to ask…

When can we finally expect to get long promissed Oddworld New n Tasty (crossbuy) for ps3 and vita?
PS3/Vita version were said to come “right after” ps4 release.

Also, Teslagrad was said to be submitted for approval to sony some 3 months ago, ps3 version only. Still no game.
Soon ps4 and vita versions will be done. I hope ps3 users dont have to wait for other platform versions to get finished.

How long does it take to get those games out if they are ready and waiting?

+ RoxinoShadow on October 12th, 2014 at 8:55 am said:

Yay for Senran Kagura.

Though I wish I had a PS3 for Presequel and Tears to Tiara 2. Oh well

I’m thinking if I should get Sleeping Dogs for the PS4 since I already have it for the PS3. I enjoyed the game on the PS3 immensely.

Is the walking dead season one going to have a platinum?

Will lone survivor be a cross-buy?

+ Macello on October 12th, 2014 at 9:05 am said:

I can’t get an answer for this out of Ask Playstation or on the blogpost, but the FAQ for the PlayStation TV says that it supports two-way party chat while in remote play even though the vita does not. Since I’ve asked into places and then ignored, it would be a pretty big breach of consumer trust if that was a typo and had not been addressed. Can you ask someone about that?

The original release of The Walking Dead Season 1 had a Platinum, there’s no reason for the PS4 one not to.

First of all, prices, please. So silly not to have them.
Second, Pac man 2 is digital only?

I’m thinking about getting Sleeping Dogs for the PS4, but I already have the game for the PS3 and I’m really wondering if it’s worth it. Also, I’m excited for Senran Kagura.

Anyway, Nidhogg is the only thing this week that interests me. Good thing too because I need all the money I can save for all those games coming in November.

Borderlands and The Evil Within for me.

Might jump on Minecraft PS3+PS4 upgrade just so I can get it on my PS4/Vita, but that’s not urgent and it’s getting to be a very busy time of year.
