The Drop: New PlayStation Games for 10/28/2014
The Drop

Goblins, ghouls, ghosts, and gremlins fill the streets. Candy flows like a river of sugar. People willingly terrify themselves. Halloween is creeping around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with a shambling host of new games coming to PlayStation?

First up, Freedom Wars, coming to PS Vita. In the not-too-distant future, humans are born into incarceration. Fight for your freedom and wield insane weapons against hulking monsters. Team up with other players online, customize your character, and select a city to represent in your fight against imprisonment.

Not spooky enough for you? Not a problem. Costume Quest 2 hits PS4 and PS3 this week. This adorable RPG sequel has tricks and treats in abundance, with new environments to explore and even a Sackboy costume to use!

And if you’re just feeling a little overwhelmed by all this Halloween horror, belt out a few of your favorite tunes in SingStar, which launches this week on PS4. And you don’t even need a mic, actually. Just download the free SingStar companion app and turn your smart device into a glorious conduit of performance art. Or embarrassing karaoke. Either way.

  • WHEN WILL PS2 GAMES BE ON PLAYSTATION NOW?????????????

  • Zooted, what complaints exactly?

That I don’t want to support half baked effort for a game, because it may continue?

    Where is your logic?

  • -table flip- I didn’t realise freedom wars came out this week xD

  • How about the last game being Killzone (of course I may have missed something)
And it can’t even have English unlike the first two.

This is what we waited a year for? Really?

No wonder people consider such high prices for Indie shovelware/IOS ports, and games with quality of already past systems that would be a greatest hits price.

And yet that’s complaining, instead of valued consumer feedback.

  • Whats NOT to complain about?

  • Anyway, my credit is going towards SAO.
It may not have English, and may be a HD PSP port, but got to put it towards one of them, when the discount makes it practical.

  • I hope that for my birthday they finish the update quickly this week. I really want to buy a new game tomorrow.

  • @157 Happy Birthday.

Don’t forget your wallet is a good place for possible sales.
Usually between Nov-April are the better sales. But they know how to keep you waiting, and are hard to predict.

  • Which ones are you thinking about?

  • @Rezolution77
You are aware that there are import reviews right? People played the japanese demo? Countless youtube videos? People already know what’s good and bad about this game. But no you don’t. You are extremely lazy not to research a bit about a game but is quick to call off at others saying their hype is fake and what not. I am amazed. You are officially tge biggest troll I’ve ever met. Congrats. Btw you can say jerk and nothing happens but if I say it your whole world collapses doesn’t it?

    @147
You are right. He complains too much and if anyone says anything to him (even if it is not insulting) he’ll go crazy.

  • I’m personally looking forward to freedom wars. I’ve pretty much been torn between that and Demon Gaze.

I mean, I liked GE, but since GE2 isn’t coming anytime soon, Freedom Wars is fairly similar (though I doubt it will have any of the absurd customization that I loved-I really enjoyed making my ‘windmill’ bullets and my support bullets. I could easily burn through a full set of MP? recovery items in a single run with players.

But freedom wars looks like it would help curb the desire until hopefully someday they add in the ability to have multiple accounts on the Vita or straight out allow us to buy foreign games (like from the PSN store of JP/EU/NA while in another region). Even if at an additional cost (due to import laws and everything).

  • Oh maaaaannnnn, waiting for the PS store to update so I can get Freedom Wars…Its killing me, what time is the update likely to occur?

  • @Syn_v3 probably in about 12-13 hours. I got mine from amazon, to be honest. Downloading it now.

  • My world hasn’t collapsed alvie, I ‘m still standing.
Even after the barrage of insults from five various ID’s that Sony made disappear like a secretive blanket party, they disavowed knowledge of.

And why, because I am an honest consumer, with feedback they don’t like but say they ask for.

Worst yet, the lack of general discussion without inuendo, or vague details.
(I mean they can’t even get prices right some of the time, and dodge every legitimate question.)

I never once said if you want Freedom Wars,, your making a bad choice.

And yet you and others like you feel the need to place words in my mouth, and make snide comments as if I were Sony and you were paying me, instead of the other way around.

I said its a game that wasn’t fully developed as well as their last two, and I do not want to suppport it if it’s what will continue just because its the one game that took a year to get here and they may not do it again.

Instead of making my Vita the machine its capable of being.

  • Any word on the GTA San Andreas Remaster instead of this shovelware? Thanks, Johnny.

  • @161
    Hope its what you wanted/expected.

I know I wore out Unit 13, but unfortunately, Zipper Interactive is no more after some of my favorite games on PS.

*When you played as many games as I have (over the years), you can start to see the trends in gaming*

But Vita isn’t new. It runs an older system, just smaller.

No excuse we shouldn’t have better made games. 11 million is still quite alot of potential.

  • What time usually are the games posted on the psn store?

  • Great week Pumped for Costume Quest 2,Freedom Wars as well as Singstar

  • Any word on a price for SingStar? I can’t seem to find information anywhere!

  • will there be a demo for freedomwars

  • Where’s SingStar? Is it in the same limbo as the PS+ version of DriveClub?

  • Where Is Singstar I can’t find it.

  • Everything’s up where is singstar

  • Singstar should be free you have to pay for the songs just like the PS3 version.

  • Where is singstar?

  • Was there a rescheduling ot SingStar, or some update issues? It’s nearly the 29th here and I still can’t see it, and apparently other people couldn’t earlier today. Has someone managed to get the game?

  • Where is Singstar?? Why no update?

  • @164
Ah Rezie. Your world certainly has collapsed. And who’s placing words in whose mouth again? Firstly you say people buying FW are doing so based on hype and has no idea about it. Secondly you called them “paid advertisements”. And now you are saying I placed words into your mouth that “buying FW is a bad idea”. Wow you are such a joke. Also if you don’t like the service then don’t pay. No one’s forcing you to. Gaming is a luxury not a necessity.

  • Did Sing star not make the cut this week? I don’t see it anywhere in the PS Store?!
