back in the day, when then indie thing started, we had small teams of people, crafting really cool games, that looked good, played well, and were amazingly good fun…..then once it was demonstrated that indie games were financially viable, it kinda took off, and now the market is flooded with garbage like “flappy bird”, and clones of android and IOS games, and ports of android and IOS games, and really just any junk people think they can make money with….so now “indie” has become synonymous with “crap”..it’s become the spam of the gaming world…

there are still people out there making decent indie games, but they’re vastly outnumbered by the junk….like i said before, actually like indie games, and i have quite a few of them….but it’s so hard to separate the crap from the really good stuff….

in any event, these indie titles that are on IGC this month don’t interest me at all….i MIGHT try frozen synapse, because i do enjoy strategy games….but based on the gameplay video, it looks like it might not be a whole lot of fun…i guess i’ll find out if i decide to give it a shot…

  • If I have already purchased a game do I get a credit? I beat steam world dig months ago.

  • I also bought escape plan a while back…

  • Hey guys, look what I have found! Its for everyone who are having problem trying to play Frozen Synapse Prime http://double11.co.uk/frozen-synapse-prime-ps3-boot-crash-workaround/ I tried play the game without the update and worked.

  • Ps4 users get hosed for the 12th month in a row. They are still giving us App Store games. This is beyond frustrating.

  • Sony can’t just select any game and offer it for free. They have to make an agreement with the publisher that makes it worthwhile. PS4 is only a year old and has a small catalog. Requesting retail games is crazy and most of the best reviewed games for the system have been indies and part of PLUS. We get some pretty great selections for the Vita every month and it’s awesome that Sony still offers games for the PS3 and expect that if they continue, we’ll start to see some very cool titles soon. Meanwhile, Microsoft was late to the party and their free titles have been much weaker (not that I’m complaining). Can we all just appreciate how awesome Sony is? Patches occasionally cause errors. Games sometimes have launch issues. Sometimes you’re given something you already own or don’t have much interest in. There are so many companies out there more than happy to offer a subpar product for too much money. Sony does it right. They need to make money, but they think the best way to do that is to make great products at reasonable prices and to reward customers. As always, thanks for providing me with some of my favorite pieces of technology and entertainment. I wish there were enough hours in the day to play everything.

  • Finally helped me to decide to not renew my PS plus subscription until I get a PS4 a year from now, since there are also no games that have made me buy it yet. At least put some of the classic gems back into the PS3 plus perks, indies are not worth it. That’s 3 months in a row with no real value.

  • You can’t find this page from the PS blog, you have to Google “ps plus november 2014” to get here. Gee, wonder why that is? Sony getting tired of all the negative feedback for their crap offerings?

Remember that Sony brought this on themselves. They created an awesome thing with PS Plus, then systematically began killing it. Complaining gamers are not being selfish. They are not asking for anything that wasn’t already established by Sony. At least December and January look more promising…

  • @EeHh_AaRoN (#333 right now):

    1. Once you’ve “acquired” a free game, it’s yours for the duration of your subscription. Also, if your subscription lapses your list of freebies will reappear as free once you resubscribe.

But…you do have to grab each game while it’s available. I find that the web store is the best place for grabbing games from all 3 systems. No need to download them right away. BTW, this is doable even in cases where you don’t currently own the system a game is for.

    2. The game you mentioned is apparently available as a separate download for Vita.

But…you’re right to ask the question. Sometimes they goof and post the wrong info. Other times a game isn’t free on all systems. So it’s good to ask questions and check the store once it updates (generally by 2pm Pacific/5pm Eastern).

  • @VeritableHero (#395 right now): Loved that suggestion. Would give more people what they want. Even an extra $1-3 off something would be nice for someone uninterested in the “free” games.

Personally, my recommendation for people who don’t much like indies (and whose subscriptions are about to run out) is to consider a 1- or 3-month subscription next time. That way they can try the newly announced AAA games on PS4 (for December & January), maybe put a bit of play time into them if they so choose, and not bother renewing if next year turns out to be the indie-fest 2014 has been.

I like some indies, but not all of course. This comment section is chock full of intelligent remarks about indies, pro & con. I like getting good ones via Plus, but I respect the opinions of those who don’t. Even the ones who won’t try them. We’ve all been asked to give feedback, and that’s theirs. While some of them have been rude, others have trolled even the respectful ones for doing exactly what was requested of them.

  • Please no more indie games!!! Am I the only one that feels like they are taking away the spotlight and taking over. I feel deprived of original gaming and with indie games every month the free games are kinda worthless to me. I want to see games being released that people would enjoy going back and playing or getting that chance to play a game they never could then.

  • I didn’t think the lineups could get worse, but I’ve been proven wrong. This is a disaster.

There’s not been a good reason to have PS+ since the Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen freebie.

  • @The_LEGENDx4 You’re not alone, I really hope this indie fad dies once and for all. I didn’t buy a ps4 to play this bull**** 2d indie crap. Gimme some REAL games not crap that’s suitable for the ipad or facebook

  • So glad I only got the 3 month ps plus subscription . As a ps3 user I got some pretty fun games in the past few years, but ps+ is nothing but crap now, not even good discounts. I will just spend full retail on my games from now on, ps+ is dead to me

  • Good thing I let my plus subscription go this month. Was waiting to see what we were getting before I renewed. Sooo glad I didn’t renew. This “we’re gonna give you a buttload of indie games that aren’t worth crap” thing is getting old. It’s bad enough they cut our 4 games a month for ps3 down to 2 games, but we keep lousy getting the axe more and more. First it was some lame-o sports title as one of the free games, then it was a giant lie about Driveclub for ps4, then games that look and play like they came out of a time machine.. like the lame D&D title from last month, then it was an Ancient game.. arkham asylum. Now it’s more of the same. Crappy sub-quality indie trash. I won’t be renewing until I see some games that are worth my time. Games with more than 12 lame trophies and graphics and gameplay from THIS decade.

  • I already own Escape Plan and that is the only tittle that interests me in this months lineup. I usually download all my new plus games the day they come out free and this month I won’t be downloading any of these titles. Ps plus has consistently been worse each month and I recon for the days when plus gave you so many games you couldn’t even at them all in a month. I rather have PS 1 classics then these tower defense, RPG and indie titles. We already have tons of indie titles and to be honest I’m sick of them. I rather you have us Avatars or themes like you used to back in the good old days of plus. If this keeps up I will not be renewing my plus membership

  • surely, you guys would have an easier time licensing titles published by SCE….like the infamous series(i’ve never played infamous 2), the killzone, wipeout, and ratchet & clank franchises….you guys have a lot at your disposal….and it’s good stuff too.

c’mon guys…..we understand if you can’t get us the hottest hotness for PS4, but that’s no excuse to crap on PS3 and vita….

  • This is complete garbage. Either someone needs to try harder, or someone should be fired for this month’s lineup. PS3 users have 2 games to choose from?!?! And they are both “D” games. Just absurd…

  • All of these games are terrible, I used to be a big playstation fan, but since the PS4 is so lacking in features and the plus games are dwindling down to terrible indie games that aren’t even as good as some of the free flash games I play, I think I’m just going to have to get a badass gaming pc.

  • so we have this weak lineup, AND the store on ps3 has been down for almost 3months im feeling like you guys have taken my money and done nothing in return right now.

  • Is it just me or does frozen synapse prime freeze every time it loads up

  • “Swipe as if your life depended on it in this exclusive survival-humor game for the PS Vita system.”
    And yet.

Anyway, I’m fine for “indies”, though I can understand the desire for at least something that takes advantage of the hardware we’re subscribing on. For Vita, I’d see that more as for the touch/gyro/portable aspects, but for PS4 it’s gotta be the graphics (if not the Twitch integration shenanigans, which I’d love to see more of.) Isaac is great, but is can be had almost anywhere. Plus needs to also provide that which can only be done (or had, in the case of exclusives) on PlayStation.

Perhaps a return to evergreen titles, or similar hangers-on?

  • I just have to go on record as saying that this is definitely one month that I’m not proud to be a playstation plus subscriber. These games are all old news and IF there were people here who were interested in that genre, they would have already bought or played them. I am not interested in the indie genre at all (outside of my laptop computer) and have no clue why Sony decided that its amazing bit of technology would best be used as a giant screen cell phone gaming platform.

    Step up your game, please.

  • the hungry mob looks interesting I can’t find it in the store, can I have some help?

  • I’ve never had PS Plus before, and I’m considering getting it. If I got it later (like, December), would I be able to download these games, or is it one of those “you have to download it this month or not get it at all” deals?

  • Music Unlimited. I used my 30 day trial during the PS4 launch but there were problems that I’ve since read have been fixed. Any chance for a deal for PS+ members like you’ve had in 2012 and 2013?

  • Just logged onto my ps3 for the first time this month and the games arent even available for me. Under free games, it only lists the free Vita games. I don’t get it.

  • Well, I guess Playstation plus now thinks my ps3 is a Vita. I was able to download the Hungry Horde demo. Of course it didn’t install properly though. I wonder if this is due to the 4.66 update that was recently installed. This sucks.

  • Is it me or does it suck to be a PS3 owner, the free games have totally sucked, but if own a PS4 you have gotten some really good games, HELLO!!!! Playstation we all cant afford a PS4.So how about given us broke people some good games for December
