The Drop: New PlayStation Games for 11/18/2014
The Drop

Bright lights, big city. It’s time to head back to Los Santos and drown in a life of luxury and crime. Grand Theft Auto V hits PS4 this week, ushering Rockstar’s colossal open world into a new generation of gaming.

In Grand Theft Auto V, players follow the intersecting lives of three criminals struggling to survive in a city soaked with fame, fortune, and violence. Jump between them and explore one of the most intricately detailed open worlds ever created. Amass a fortune, silence the competition, drive exotic cars… or just play some golf. GTA V welcomes it all, and invites Grand Theft Auto Online players to carry over their progress from PS3 or Xbox 360 to PS4.

But that’s just the start of the spectacular lineup this week. LittleBigPlanet 3 hits PS4 and PS3 and introduces a cadre of new friends for Sackboy. Far Cry 4 opens the gates to a Himalayan open world oppressed by the rule of a psychopathic tyrant. And Dragon Age: Inquisition tells the sweeping story of a hero cursed by dangerous magic.

  • Dragon Age Inquisition time for me. Just waiting for it to preload today? Do you know when preloading starts for Dragon Age Inquisition. If you can answer that then Kudos for you!

  • Holy crap. So much goodness in one week! My head a ‘splode!

  • There are simply too many games coming out this week. I have no idea what to play first.

  • I never played GTA 5, so i’m glad i waited on the PS4 version after i had heard rumors of its development.

  • Hey there,
How about some legit classics for a change of pace. Other than that its good to see good variety for digital gaming on the systems.

  • Any chance for a Disgaea sale soon?

  • Disgaea 2 to be more specific.
Anyways, LBP3! Hopefully it’s as good if not better than the other 3. (LBP, LBP2 and LBPVita)

  • been saving for Farcry ,GTA and Dragon Age. Can’t wait. Need more hours in the day to play them all.

  • shadow15972 – are you related to shadow15379 ?

  • Looking forward to Dragon Age as well as Hatsune Miku Project Diva f 2nd for Vita
Needless to say, I’m going to be busy for a while
Wish I had more money for games lol

  • Thanks Ryan,

Nevermind it’s downloading now. Thank God. I have been waiting all day for this. So it looks like I will be watching movies today until it finishes!

    • Oh good! Sorry I couldn’t help. I usually don’t have easy access to exact Store timings when the Store team is not in full operation on weekends.

  • 18th of Nov 2014 will forever be known as the best day to be a video game enthusiast, ever. Getting them all. Sigh. No sigh. Just bliss. Was hoping to start pre-loading already because, well, I’m getting quite a few of these so yeah.

  • Dragon Age: Inquisition, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f 2nd, The Jackbox Party Pack, Rollers of the Realm, and possibly Monopoly… Seems like this Tuesday will bring enough games to carry me into the next year!

  • Unfortunately, PSN connection in Brazil is a joke. I can buy the games online, but cannot download it. Sony don’t seem to respect much outside of US and Japan.

  • *I mean, PSN for PS4.

  • Wow, the biggest week of 2014!! :D

I have FC4 preordered and excited to try out this preloading on ps4!

Also excited for the indie game, Never Alone :)

  • You should really consider an option of adding a wish list to PS Store, so many games I wish to purchase for later, yet keep forgetting their names due to their numbers.

  • Worst week ever to release an indie game.

  • So many games over the next 6 months and so little money lol

  • Mother of god that’s a lot of games. Far cry 4 and never alone for me :D

  • Wait, there’s a new You Don’t Know Jack?! Whelp, adding that to the pile I must buy.

  • Whats the difference between a demo and a trial?
And for the love of god, prices!

  • No GTA here; not a fan of games that only know how to treat women as background decorations.

This is a great week, regardless. LBP3 and Never Alone look wonderful.

  • Looking forward to playing Dragon Age. Been waiting a long time on that one. I am also going to pick up Rollers of the Realm this week.

  • I didn’t see Little Big Planet in the List.

But i’m going to Dragon Age myself, should consume me for a good while. at least till black friday

  • this will be epic on my new 50′ inch tv :D can’t wait to cop the ps4 bundle (: here i come ps4 !

  • Will Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd be compatible with the PlayStation TV? I hope so! I bought Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F for the PS vita while it was on sale and it said some features may not be compatible with the PS TV so I bought it and downloaded it and it didn’t work. So I hope the 2nd one is compatible!

  • @24 A demo is a piece of code, a section of the full game.
A trial is a 1 hour acess to the full game, with all his content. After that, the trial expires and the game need to be purchased, if you feel like it.
Oh, and of course, while a demo can be played multiple times, a trial has a limit of 1 hour, 1 time, and that is that.

  • Dragon age I’m coming home. Tried to mentally prepare this week. Getting Dragon age, grand theft auto tomorrow at midnight at GameStop. Then renting far cry 4 also Tuesday. My god 3 Triple A titles for ps4 in one day for me. LBP not sure I’m getting. Never played the first 2 yet. Good thing I can ask relatives for a few titles I missed this last couple months.

  • Currently pre-loading LBP3 on my PS3. I cannot wait!

  • There are a ton of NEW games out this week so why is the majority of the opening of the Drop, going on and on about GTA, the REMADE OLD GAME?

There’s no reason to spend 80% of the time hyping the one game everyone already played on other systems.

Great week for games, too bad the Drop posts first two (and only long) paragraphs ignore that…

This is the Weekly Drop, not the GTA Hype Blog.

  • Great week, i hope great sales too. I want to spend money.

  • @Opikal Nope. Never new anybody was near my PSN id. I just pressed random numbers to get this Id. :P

  • I got the big 5 paid off. Gta5 fc4 lip 3 wwe 15 and dai. Just put a 2tb drive in the ps4. I’m ready for winter

  • Far Cry 4 and Miku on Tuesday with Little Big Planet 3 coming in the mail, great week for me! I want to try Never Alone as well. Beyond!

  • The Jackbox sounds good but all it mentions is other hardware options.

Does anyone know if the Jackbox pack will still work with the normal console controllers?

  • If I already own Fibbage will there be a discount for the Jackbox Party Pack?

  • MXGP is right up my alley. Sadly no retail version for the Vita so looks like that will be an import for me.

  • ….TOO MUCH, haha wow i’m going to really have to wait for my pay check to come in for all of this. Thank you sony

  • *Knew. Wow. Can’t believe I didn’t catch that.

  • I wish I knew which games were remote playable for PS Vita to PS4… Please include this detail when posting new games either here or in the store publishing… It’s a big factor in the games I buy for my PS4. Thanks

Btw is GT V Remote Playable?

  • Great week, but I will not be able to buy anything because in my country (BRAZIL) the credit card does not work, so I had to buy vouchers cards. However, two weeks ago vouchers stopped working, so we no longer have to buy anything from PSN! YES, unfortunately the division PSN Brazil is going from bad to worse…

  • Add me on ps4 – ty1109

  • Grand Theft Auto V next gen! Far Cry 4! Dragon Age: Inquisition! LittleBigPlanet 3! oh my, what a wonderful week indeed!!!
oh, and Ryan, you forgot to mention that Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor launches this week on the 18th on the PS3 (retail and digitally)

  • Dragon Age: Inquisition, Far Cry 4, a PS4 copy of LBP 3 for me, and a PS3 copy for my girlfriend for Christmas (who only reads the store update posts, and only when I remind her to, so, no risk of spoilers here).

Decided to pass on GTA 5 PS4 as I’ve got a strong feeling it’s going to find its way on sale either on Black Friday or Boxing Day.

Oh and I’m grabbing that other game on Friday but we won’t talk about that here.

  • Oh, I also have an interest in Escape Dead Island, but I’m waiting for reviews…….and to see if they follow through on that whole “we’ll do a Vita version if there’s demand for it” comment.

  • See only 2 good game its Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd and WWE. GTAV is joke, yes i’m playing it on PS3 but PS4 users like us should get PS4 version for $10-20 upgrade offer then paying not worth the value of the game again.

I’m gaming on PS3 and PS Vita until Dec 24-25, i’ll be on my PS4 then.

  • GTA5 is preloading now!! yeah baby!
