It’s Vita Time! 3PP Bringing More Titles to PS Vita

Hey PlayStation Fans,

Throughout 2014, the Third Party Production team has been working with our partners across the game industry to bring all kinds of exciting, diverse and fun titles to our favorite portable powerhouse.

During the PlayStation Experience keynote in Las Vegas, we announced some terrific new titles for the Vita: the legendary classics Suikoden I & II, the single screen competitive chaos of Towerfall: Ascension, the gorgeous Tactical Strategy RPG The Banner Saga, the ludicrous suburban Octopus simulator Octodad: Dadliest Catch, the craziest time traveling shooter of all time, Super Time Force Ultra and the latest entry in the legendary shambling zombie franchise, Resident Evil Revelations 2. All this and that’s not even including all the other great Vita content we announced, like, Bastion, Darkest Dungeon, Severed, Shovel Knight and Broken Age: the Complete Adventure.

Whether you’re into twitchy arcade action, deep strategy games with epic tales, or clumsy mollusks that have trouble with the most basic of tasks, there’s never been a better time to own a Vita. Check out more about the exciting games coming to my favorite video game machine Q1 2015

Super Time Force Ultra (PS4/Vita)
Are side-scrolling platformer/shooters too difficult for you? Too bad because Capy Games’ Super Time Force Ultra isn’t going to hold your hand through its bite-sized but intense levels. Luckily, you can rewind time, bring back fallen characters, and add their previous runs to your current one for absurd extra firepower (or just a little help to get past timing-based obstacles).

The just-announced Vita edition comes with bonus content like extra playable characters, including our very own Shuhei Yoshida, president of Worldwide Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment.

Towerfall: Ascension (PS4/Vita)
Perhaps shooting your friends in the head is more your style? In Towerfall, up to four players compete in arena-based combat, launching super-powered arrows at each other until only one (or one team) survives. It’s fast and addicting, and on the Vita! Along with Towerfall Ascension the new Dark World expansion content with new characters, levels, and power-ups will also be available for both Vita and PS4!

The Banner Saga (PS4/Vita)
The critically acclaimed strategy role-playing game is coming to the Vita. The Banner Saga features beautiful, hand-drawn art and animations; deep, tactical combat; and an epic story influenced by Viking legends that players can shape with their choices.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch (PS4/Vita)
Our eight-legged — and intentionally difficult to control — hero is back for the Vita, sloppily knocking over everything in his path as he attempts to complete normal, everyday tasks (like mowing the lawn or going grocery shopping). Octodad just wants to be a normal guy, after all, and live peacefully with his human wife and kids in this lighthearted and hilarious adventure.

Broken Age (PS4/Vita)
The Complete Adventure is a love letter to the classic adventure games of the 90s, written by the creator of some of those famous games, Tim Schafer. The tiny title that became a Kickstarter juggernaut features two characters in independent, parallel stories—Vella, a young woman destined to be sacrificed to a giant monster and Shay, a young man coddled and overprotected on a mysterious space ship. Both Vella and Shay attempt to change their fate, but doing so sends their respective stories on a crash course into each other.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 (PS4/Vita)
Famous series protagonist Claire Redfield returns (and goes portable) in the latest release in the Revelations Franchise! The Vita version is being produced and digitally published by Third Party Production

Darkest Dungeon (PS4/Vita)
Darkest Dungeon focuses on the humanity and psychological vulnerability of the heroes and asks: What emotional toll does a life of adventure take? It is a game about hard trade-offs, nearly certain demise, and heroic acts. Prepare to experience an RPG like nothing you have played before.

  • People still complaining when things will continue to stay the same with ps vita. Looks like all the whining about ps vita is paying off not Lol.

  • Looking forward to Suikoden 2. I am also looking forward to Broken Age for the Vita. I don’t have much of a modern PC, so I’ve had to sit that game out.

Just something to consider and I hope what I’ve had to say can make a change and inspire you guys to do something yet again “For the players”, as it would truly be a real dream come true for me and many other harcore Vita fans, just the thought of replaying through my favorite GTA ever made “Vice City” on the PS Vita with proper dual analog controls and possible trophies sends shivers up my spine, a man can dream.

    Thank you,

Here’s an idea or something for you and the rest of the Third Part Production Team and anyone else in charge of bringing content to the Vita to consider: If you are looking for new and interesting titles to bring to Vita that are guaranteed to sell well and move units, it would be wise to get “Rockstar” on board for a “Grand Theft Auto” title whether it be an exclusive game, or my personal suggestion and more feasible a port of the three IOS and Android versions of Grand Theft Auto all packed together in a “Collection” or “Trilogy” which could be sold at the regular price of a console game and I, as well as many others would buy it instantly on a whim without even thinking twice, you cannot disagree with the fact that the GTA series not only sells the software itself like crazy, but moves hardware insanely as well, to put it plain and simple Grand Theft Auto is a system seller.

    Hello Mr. Gio Corsi,

it is amazing and astonishing news to hear that Resident Evil will actually be coming to my favorite platform of all time, this is a dream come true for me! The Vita is my absolute favorite handheld or specifically “technological gaming device” ever to have been concieved and its great to see more Tripple A console quaility titles coming to it as it is what the Vita was built for and meant to do, to privide a console quality portable PlayStation experience in the palm of your hands anywhere anytime, and what I’ve loved it since the day I picked up my Launch Edition bundle for,

  • ^^^^ incorrect fomation due to the limited space per one comment, but if read from 1-3 in proper order I think I can get my point accross haha.

  • Games I would love to see on the vita:

    SKATE
    A real MotorStorm
    Uncharted Golden Abyss Sequel
    Killzone Trilogy
    Killzone Mercenary 2
    Tearaway 2
    Gravity Rush 2
    Sly Cooper 5
    ATV Offroad Fury collection

  • All of these look great! I love to see the support for the Vita, whether it be ports, indies, or new titles. It’s a fantastic handheld, and worthy of the support!

  • As long as that Resident Evil Revelations 2 game is Physical then im all good :D

  • I will give credit to Sony for at least acknowleding that the Vita exists and sincerely hope that the upcoming Resident Evil game actually sees the light of day unlike a certain Bioshock game that never did.But yet again, almost all of the “new” games announced are games that look like they have been transported through time from the 1970s. It’s 2014, time to move on and show us games that look visually appealing – and not Commodor 64 quality.

    As for questions:

    (1) The “Vita TV” was never mentioned during the Playstation Experience keynote nor in any other presentation. Why?

    (2) Is Assault Android Cactus, a gorgeous looking shooter, by Indie developer Witch Beam, ever going to see the light of day?

    (3) Looking back on the last two years, does Sony still view its pricing structure for its memory cards as a solid strategic move that enhanced Vita sales?

    Still waiting on greatness here.

  • SUIKODEN 2!!! Thank you so much for making this happen, been waiting for this moment for more than 6 years, best christmas present ever!

  • Games i really want on Vita have already been announced.

    Broforce
    Helldivers
    Galak-Z
    Nuclear Throne
    Guns Up
    Salt and Sanctuary
    Plus loads more….

    Just waiting on release dates

  • Why not steal back Monster Hunter games from Nintendo. It was born on PS2, grown big with PSP, but left Playstation. Fact: that game is a huge system seller for Nintendo in Japan ever since.

  • I’d really like to see Haunting Ground, Kuon, Rule of Rose & the .Hack games. PS: Thank you for all the Shin Megami Tensei games you recently put on PSN and a very big thanks for Suikoden II :^) Hopefully you will keep the ball rolling and pop the other Suikoden games on there too.

  • Games I would love to see on the Vita.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed king HD Physical and digital

Yakuza 1&2 HD vita . And not the family friendly ps3 version. NO the Originals. That’s why there classics . Physical and digital

And I cannot stress Physical versions enough, there isn’t a lot of vita titles in print.

Both would be great on the system for 3 reasons.

    1. There are tons of Yakuza and Dragons Quest fans across the world. Its proven by the amount of sequels img the serieses.

    2. These are Basically RPGs one of the Vitas best selling categorys and is made for portable gaming.

    3. All the games listed above Dragons Quest 8, Yakuza 1&2 are PS2 games and exlusives… and the vita already ports a lot of PS2 titles. So I know these games are 100% possible to port. And Sony owns licenses to all of these.

Please make this happen I know this can be done.

  • For those asking “Where is the original, first party content”, take note that this post is for TPP, THIRD-PARTY PRODUCTIONS.

  • How awesome would Grand Theft Auto V-ita be?
A “Los Santos Stories” version of GTA V with the “V” in “Vita” being the GTA V symbol.

  • Playstation’s slogan of “For the Players” would certainly be true if they cast ‘profit woes’ aside and funded a GTA game made from ground up for the Vita instead of only doing what seems most profitable. GTA has the power to sell consoles, but not necessarily so if that same game is offered on another platform, which is why VITA exclusive is key here. For the Players, not For the Profit. Im sure Sony would like to move more Vita units as well anyway, and this is also being done by bundling the Vita with the PS4 anyway.
No more Indie dependency, these games barely scratch the surface on the Vita potential and simply wont sell systems when smartphones offer this same indie experience. Bring out some top quality exclusives, you have to lose some to gain some, and fulfill what the Vita was made for- to bring portability to higher end console quality games

  • My little list of games for VITA maybe you also like, if i miss someone put on coments!! let’s make it happen!!!*

  • Other than RE: R2 [which was a very grateful surprise], Suikoden I and Suikoden II, everything else is indie stuff. Look, guys, we like indies. And trust me, you got that part covered. Indies are loved. Sony opens doors to indies. PSV gamers have a dizillion of indies to play. It’s awesome. But we want retail titles. You got the indie part covered, so please, now look into more retail stuff because just one niche alone won’t cut it. It’s why the PSV doesn’t sell~.

  • Suikoden I & II! YEY :D

  • Only reason I still have my Vita is because I like playing old games (mainly PSP ones), but if I were to lose interest in that, I will sell my vita without second thought, the lack of actual titles MADE FOR THE VITA is incredible. Nice way to **** up your own product, Sony. Its not like I dont like indies, but I already have Steam for that.

  • I cannot copy suikoden 2 to my psp why it says on store playable on ps3 psvita and psp it needs fixing urgently waited 7 years for this to come on psn thanks sony

  • Please don’t say that it was just a mistake about Suikoden I being available for Vita.

  • Man, I gotta seizure after see RE Revalations 2 on Vita!

  • Those really are some great news for all of the Vita owners! Especially RE:revelations 2 and Bastion, Which are pretty important games. We apreciate the movement, now release once more one of the great playstation franchises to the Vita, and it will be the best year for the handheld!

  • Since you’ve worked with Konami on Suikoden, what about the PSP spinoff game that was released fairly recently? Talking about PSP, it would be nice to see things like Metal Gear Ac!d, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy, Mega Man Powered Up, Final Fantasy Type-0 (lol) and others.

  • Here’s my List:

    -RESIDENT EVIL HD REMASTER
    -RESIDENT EVIL Mercenaries 3D

  • I haven’t been on psn in years. I considered buying a Ps Vita when I saw the Sly Cooper collection along with Sly4. There are great great Playstation Games I played growing up on my PS2, and it seems like the Vita was designed to relive the past as well as promise a prosperous future. Nintendo had a similar problem with the Wii U, they released games that they felt would appear good to the audiences, it didn’t work and then they went stale for a while. The same thing is happening with the Vita, Sony released games they thought were selling points to us (which weren’t/aren’t) and it’s failing. Nintendo has Mario/Zelda, Xbox has Halo, and Sony has Spyro/Crash/Ratchet and Clank/Jak and Daxter… If you want the Vita to live and possibly even take off, invest in some of these games. I’m not talking about the old ps1 versions either, imo The Legend of Spyro Trilogy PS2 was amazing and I’d love to replay them. Storyline games! Do some announcing and give new life to a system that the people seem to be growing tired of, I understand PS4 is your primary concern, so in time I suppose, but please don’t wait too much longer. I’m going to take a chance and go buy that Borderland’s PS Vita bundle. I BELIEVE IN YOU SONY! Lez go! B)

  • GTA, Devil May Cry, Bioshock i have seen requested over and over since launch. Fat Princess Adventures seems like a perfect fit too.

  • Thank you very much to you and everyone else. Yakuza 3 & 4 were why I bought a PS3 in the first place and even though I bought 5 in Japanese I will be sure to pick up the English version as well. Keep up the great work!

  • I would like to see hard corps: uprising, the ps2 version of shinobi, and 2 games from the Steam PC service. The first stream game is called Hatred. The second stream game is called Astebreed.
