Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Out Today on PS4, PS3

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- has arrived and we at Aksys Games couldn’t be more hyped! Exclusively on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 systems, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is one of Arc System Works’ greatest and most visually stunning fighting games, and we are proud to be publishing it in North America for fans everywhere! So what’s all this hype about you say?

The Guilty Gear series has a long history, currently celebrating its 16th year in existence. During that time, it has built a reputation as one of the most fun, extreme, yet challenging fighting games to grace the video game world. Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- reinvigorates the series, bringing back some classic mechanics and combining it with stunning visuals to make a truly unique experience for all.

For beginners, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is a great way to dive into the series. Featuring an extensive tutorial mode as well as a myriad of challenging modes, it allows players to learn, in-depth, how to do even the most complex of moves. Players are rewarded with an array of crazy, high-flying, and sometimes positively wacky moves when a special attack input succeeds. Don’t believe me? Check out Faust’s instant kill!

The hallmark of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is its visuals. Built on Unreal Engine 3, Arc System Works implemented their classic 2D style into the world of 3D, allowing the camera to move freely during special attacks, dusts, and more. To get a truly good grasp of just how stunning these visuals are, check out the long list of modes available for the game, including story mode – it uses Guilty Gear’s in-game engine to advance its compelling storyline.

Finally, for fans of this long running series, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-‘s fighting mechanics are back and have been enhanced to make gameplay even more fun and exciting. One of the classic mechanics, the Roman Cancel System, lets players effectively slow down time, allowing for multiple move inputs. Once unleashed, the player can do some pretty heavy damage.

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is now available at retailers nationwide and on PSN. The Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Limited Edition will be available December 23, 2014. In addition, the DLC character Elphelt Valentine is currently available for free on PSN until 1/5. Other DLC include the (also unlockable) Sin and Leo Whitefang as well as voice and color packs. Expect more patch updates that will further enhance and improve on your Guilty Gear experience in the coming days!

  • why…why must you taunt me so! the game is on the store page and everything yet i can not buy it ; ;

  • Heaven or Hell! Let’s Rock!

  • Sad the PS4 Digital version is 66GB :'(

Hope for a retail release here in Brazil

  • I hope this same style is used for the next BlazBlue

  • Yayuhhhh!!!! I can’t wait to see how May looks like and plays!! GIANT WHALE FINISHING MOVE TIME!!!!

  • #3 – Actually the file size is apparently only 5.3GB on PS4, and 3.9GB on PS3. This is according to the Japanese PSN version of the game.

What is currently in the description must be a typo.

  • This looks to be a fun fighter.

Now if only you could out Resonance of fate on PSNOW Sony :)

  • Will give you one free DLC but will charge you up the butt with more DLC later I just love when company’s chop up parts of there game for stuff that should have been there in the first place and I like it that you made the demo for plus members only expect less sales on that decision

  • Kid_loser why don’t you just buy the game or do you just have a ps4 is that why you want it on there

  • Yeah… Best fighting game ever for ps3 but not for vita okay… I hate you!! :'(

  • Wait, that last comment about unlockable DLC. That was only focusing on Sin correct? I though we had to buy Leo.

    • Sin is an unlockable character (either by purchasing him on PSN or gaining enough world dollars). Leo and Elphelt can only be purchased through PSN.

  • I got this last Thursday from Gamestop due to leaking the game early, it is my first GG game and I like it.

  • Alright, not to be confused here…

    1. Yeah, that 66GB thing was a typo. 2. @Kid_Loser, you should be asking this to SEGA, not Aksys. 3. @S.H.A. DLC is expected, nothing you can do about it. And 4. Sin is in-game unlockable for 200K W$ (or a quick unlock DLC), Elphelt is being free for 3 weeks, and dunno Leo might be day 1 or not (and most likely purchasable), and possibly just later, but since Russell has spoken DLC plans, it would be nice for a schedule of release content.

Anyways, looking forward to Xrd! X3

  • I wish the LE wasn’t delayed, as that’s what I have on preorder at GameStop…

The developers of Guilty Gear, Arc System Works, are aware of the driver. If there are any updates, we’ll keep everyone posted!

Any update to this? I’m probably not buying the game until it supports PS3 sticks cause I’m sure not trying to spend another $150-$200 on a PS4 stick knowing something is specifically available to allow PS3 sticks to work.

  • I’ve had it since last week also. It’s a great game. There is a 600gb day-one patch, which seemingly adds the data for the DLC characters.

  • I made a typo. 600mb even.

  • Loved Guilty Gear since I played it on the PS2 with my brother way back when. Sadly, all the stores here in Montreal don’t have the game at all. Not in their system or anything. They don’t even know what the game is or when they’re going to get it. Really wanted to pick up a copy today.

  • how much will the digital ps3 version be?

  • @PZDugna: Sorry to crush your hopes dude, but Leo is still buy-only DLC. Sin is unlockable in-game for 200,000 points, or you can buy him with real world dosh. Personally, though, only casuls pay for unlockable chars.

BTW, where the hell is the digital version of Xrd Aksys?! I’ve been waiting all night and day!

  • @Russell:

Any plans to support the Skullgirls drivers (PS3 stick compatibility for PS4?). I really want to buy the PS4 version but cannot justify it since I would have to purchase a brand new arcade stick.

  • @Macibax: 60 bucks or whatever your currency is equivalent to it (that is, if you’re not in the US).

@SeanStrange: That sucks, man. Why the hell is it like that over there?
Just make a US account or ship it from Amazon.

  • I don’t see it on the PSN store. Whats the deal?

  • I see it on the ps store but its not available to buy yet? To Find it you do have to go searching for it or look under all new games.

  • Same here. Let’s go PSN I’m already behind.

  • Still Nothing on PSN -_-
At what time will it be available on PSN?.

  • Soon guys, very soon, PSN Store is currently in the process of updating content. X3

  • Im staring at GG Xrd’s PSN page, but nothings happening… WHY DONT YOU WANT MY MONEY?!?!

  • If I look at Xrd’s PSN page one more time and not see a price tag I’m going to rip my own head off.
    Let’s go PSN!

  • I played the demo of this Guilty Gear and boy this game is good and also it looks really beautiful,I dunno how you guys managed to pull those graphics but damn sometimes it looked like I was watching an anime. For real excellent job Aksys.

I shall redeem myself from all those years and games I missed of Guilty Gear since PS1…playing the crap outta Xrd Sign.

  • Can’t find download button and it still has 0 ratings. What’s the deal?

  • thanks for bringing it over and dubbing it. Im waiting on my Limited edition. Do you know if there will be any more dlc characters will be coming? I really miss jam.

  • anyone know how much for the ps4 version on psn, no price listed

That’s just a placeholder until the SEN Store officially updates.

Once the SEN Store updates, the game and DLC for this week will be available to purchase.

  • come on!! when this will be available for buying? i want my ps3 copy plz!!

  • Yeah it wont let me buy the game either. Its just there in the games section with out price or option to download been waiting all day.

  • Why is there no option to purchase?!! I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever!! Thanks for any information.

  • Why isn’t this available at Target or Walmart? Gamestop sucks.

  • @SRKZombie4u: Im being told that PSN normally updates at 2 PM EST. Source? Some random dude on r/kappa told me this… lol

  • @Russell

Can you confirm that Leo Whitefang will be available for purchase/download today?

I knew Elphelt was coming today but I thought I heard Leo was coming at a later date.

  • will all dlc be out at once? or just elphelt?

  • YES!! I buy it!! excelent!!

  • Come psn release guilty gear already lol.

  • @Russell

I’m getting the ps3 version as soon as it shows up on the psn store so i have no issues with my stick, but for all the people buying it for the ps4 you guys should look into the driver the Skullgirls team are developing, they’re offering it for free.

  • Thanks SydeSkroll. I am hopeful that we will see this on the PSN store very soon.

  • ITS AVAILABLE!! IM DOWNLOADING IT NOW!!!

  • Yayyyy! There it is! Woo Hoo! Downloading now!

  • Been waiting for this for ages. Can’t wait for my LE to arrive!

  • Not sure if I missed that, but why wasn’t it communicated that there would be a delay on the Limited Edition? Had I known, i would have just pre-ordered the regular edition. Now the gamestops nearby don’t have any regular editions and I can’t play this awesome game for another week. (I like my physical copies, so I don’t feel like getting the digital version). In the future, I think it would be better for you guys to communicate when certain versions are delayed ahead of time so you don’t have sad players like me and the other people that ordered the LE. :(
