  • Enjoy the show!

  • Sweet, blogcast episode is up pretty early.

My most anticipated game of 2015 (subject to change) is Dying Light. Can’t Wait!

  • I would love to have an open world game on Vita, something like GTA or Saint’s Row (not just remote play). PSP had several GTAs. Heck, I would even welcome a San Andreas HD edition. Any hints on something like that in 2015?

    • I don’t personally know of anything that fits the bill, but I’ll keep my eyes peeled… I do love me my open-world games.

  • I love listening to these episodes all the time and great opening theme by the way :)

  • Yeah, more AAA on Vita would be nice. Even HD remasters and not just PSP compatible titles. Come on guys, give some love to the vita (Love indies, love PS Now, love Remote Play. But…come on!)

  • Most anticipated game for 2015 for me is Batman: Arkham Knight. Honourable mentions to Persona 5, Persona 4: Dancing All Night and Metal Gear Solid V. :D

Hoping for some more big Vita exclusives in the coming year. There’s only really Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines and Persona 4 Dancing All Night coming up and we know nothing about either of these titles. =/

  • I’m sorry but the PlayStation Now sub is still way too expensive. I’m kind of waiting for the day when they bundle it with the PlayStation Plus sub for a handful of money a year. I’d be more likely to consider it then. Hopefully I win the free sub because of that theme!

  • 3) Uncharted 4 will be one HECK of a ride…. :)

    2) No Man’s Sky will take us to the EDGES of a UNIVERSE….and maybe never back!!!! :)

    1) But, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will take you through a heartwrenching story you will remember most because of its character, not its galaxies or explosions.

Those are my top 3 games, but for me a powerful and thought provoking story comes out above all and no game beats the MGS series in that respect, not to mention many other ones too. MGS has always been praised but from what I’ve seen I think MGSV is going to be the game to cement Hideo Kojima as a genius even in the eyes of the casual gamer crowd, the film/ entertainment industry, and in popular media as well. I think gamers have grown up enough that theyre ready for a more mature story now. What other game series speaks of philosophy/life as a whole…. genes, nature vs nurture, cloning, technology, military, government, deception, war, peace, country, nuclear deterrence, patriotism, loyalty/trust, love, friendship, and what mgs v will tackle more specifically – the reason for continual war – revenge.

Only MGS baby..and it does it with stealth action STYLE and attention to cinematic detail too!

  • J00zt1n it is your destiny that we play Destiny. Are you on GAF? Have you soloed the first part of CE yet? It’s fun with Don’t Touch Me gauntlets. LOL

GAFers made a Destiny podcast (before Ryan’s old site did, BTW) and called it the Mythocast. :)

Peace and bring on HARD MODE!!!

  • I can’t wait to play that “super sexed-up” RE Remaster Tuesday! Actually, it will most likely be Wednesday, since it Will take all day to dl 14 gigs.

  • Hey! My email didn’t get read because it was mildly critical of Sony and a bunch of xenophobic Americans don’t give a damn about any country but their own!

    SHOCKER!

  • As an undead, Can’t wait for Bloodborne. it looks like a fresh take on the souls style of games.

  • I guess my most anticipated games are pretty close to everyones else´s.

Uncharted 4 is number 1. I love the series, probably one of my favorite videogame series of all time, along with MGS.
Final Fantasy 15 is a close number 2. I have been expecting this game for way too long and I hope it comes out this year. Looks amazing.
Number 3 is Metal Gear Solid 5. This will be an experience that will stay with anyone who plays it. The more I watch of the game, the bigger the hype level.

If I were counting games coming up soon I would add The Order 1886 (I can´t believe how close it is to release) and Bloodborne. And coming out later there´s also Batman Arkham Knight whic will be my 1st Batman game. I played a bit of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City but couldn´t get into them. THe inclusion of the batmobile will definately make me get it.

Keep the derailing going guys, I for one love it.

  • Looking forward to Resonance of Fate to come to PSNow… cause it’s got to happen!

  • Sweet! Driving along traffic will be less boring. Please dont quit your jobs and start a Somewhat Funny games. Dont make me add another awesome podcast to listen to every week

  • Microsoft is reviving all the classic franchises they can…. nintendo has been exploiting the nostalgia factor for generations… and Sony…. is just there…. sitting on a pile of classic games doing nothing with them… good job sony…. BTW when we asked for FF7 Remake on PS4 it was a total remake not an “HD upgrade” BS!!! that was the lowest hit u and SE could have done to ur fans… not counting the BS with FFtype0 on ps4 AND XBOX ONE BUT NOT ON VITA?!

sigh…. i know this rant its late but it needed to be said….

  • and my MAG are:
    Bloodborne
    MGS5
    Uncharted 4
    the order 1886
    Persona 5
    FFXV
    Evolve

  • The Vita needs a survival horror game and I agree with the open-world comment.

  • 1) Ratchet and Clank 2015
We still don’t know anything about this disappointingly, but we haven’t had a full, classic Ratchet and Clank since A Crack in Time (6 years). Given that that’s one of my favorite games of all time, I’m definitely looking forward to a revamped entry point to the series for all of my friends that haven’t experienced this wonderful franchise yet.

    2) The Order: 1886
I really hope that this will be good, and long enough to compensate for the presumably thin replay value (Not trying to be pessimistic, that’s just how most single-player story-only games are with their first game). Heavy Rain proved that gameplay isn’t the most important factor for every game, so if they deliver a great 15-20 hour experience, then I’ll be all over it.

    3) Uncharted 4
It’s more Uncharted. I’ve never been the biggest fan of the series, but they’re still incredibly fun, and I loved all of 3 (Save for the anticlimactic end).

  • @3:

Perhaps the closest thing to an open-world game that is heading to Vita in Japan is Sword Art Online: Lost Song, which will also be released on PS3.

According to early reports on this game, each of the floating island landmasses in “Svart ALfheim” is approximately sixteen square kilometres in size, and can be freely explored on foot or from the air. However, any dungeons on these landmasses would have to be traversed by foot.

So far, SAO:LS is confirmed for an English and Traditional Chinese release in Asia (for Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, etc). With Hollow Fragment having reportedly sold 450,000 copies worldwise (70,000 of which being here in North America), I’d like to hope the odds may be good on Bandai Namco bringing this next game over too.

As for myself, SAO:LS would be top of my anticipation list (should it be formally announed for Western localization). There are other Japanese Vita games I’m also hoping to see in the West, such as Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (which has a very SMT/Persona-esque look to it so far).

@16: In terms of survivial horror for Vita, perhaps it might be worth asking NIS America to take a look at Danganronpa: Another Episode?

  • And regarding some of those Japanese Vita games I mentioned:

    http://sao-lostsong.bngames.net/
    http://digimonstory-cs.bngames.net/
    http://www.danganronpa.com/zetsubou/

A few others due for a Japanese release this year:

    http://www.godeater.jp/
    http://www.cs.furyu.jp/yuyuyu/
    http://crossange.bngames.net/

And one which came out late last year over there, which (given how Idea Factory International are ticking along so far, with three Vita Nepgames already announced for early 2015) will likely be announced for the West sooner or later:

    http://www.compileheart.com/neptune/re-birth3/

  • And I forgot to add this to my last post, but Bandai Namco Asia have a pair of English-subbed trailers for Lost Song posted to their YouTube channel:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHN8JdweNac
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryB4MfQC8t4

Reportedly, the reason why the game was given a PS3 version along with the Vita edition was to help make the game more accessible to Western audiences. That said, I hope that we would still get the game for both platforms – and perhaps even in physical form for each one.

  • no no no please do not censor them from talking about Final Fantasy XIV. I would love so much to play that game but unfortunately cannot afford the monthly subscription so I am fictionalley living it through Justin and Ryan titillating stories.

also apparently it turns out that Sid is secretly Captain America. I’ll let you guys figure that joke out on your own.

anyways great episode guys I was lmao quite often

  • I like Episode 146: The Poncho Experience very much. Really this is very interesting.

  • My most anticipated game will be the one included in a PS4 bundle that actually gets me to buy a PS4. I now have the cash to buy one but the only bundles I see are with remastered games I already played on the PS3. I will continue to wait until there is something just too good to pass up. Really there is no hurry because Uncharted 4 is not out yet and I still wouldn’t be surprised if it just pushed back to 2016.

  • My most anticipated. . . humm.. Where is Starbound for PS4 and PsVita?!

  • Driveclub PS Plus Edition is up there for me, though I think it will be up there in 2016, also.

    Without a doubt, Bloodborne.

  • Time to rally for a separate “PS Blog – FFXIVCAST”, perhaps?

Silo Eyes – Sargatanas (Friend me if you want!)

  • There are a lot of good games on the horizon for PS4 and PSVita. I think the most exciting thing about this platform is their love for indy game developers. You never know what is going to come from that part of the world and you can often find some real good games. Jungle Rumble by Disco Pixel is coming out soon for Vita. That is a really fun little beat strategy game that has a lot of charm. Who knows what else the indys will come out with in 2014 that we will all be talking about for years to come.

  • Best ending ever.

  • 4-letters: SOMA

  • I am excited for more playstation now, but I hope its on the vita soon,

  • Another farm fresh episode guys! I was dying of laughter towards the ending when you were using a rap horn for the buzzer, hahaha

By the way, Sid hasn’t said “farm fresh” much lately, I’m sure Ryan, Justin, and Nick would all instantaneously agree that he should say it more, lol

  • No Man’s Sky

  • Since this past podcast dealt with things to come in the future. I have been wondering when I will here now about risk of rain coming to vita. I have been searching monthly for new news since the announcement in February with no success. Nick, do you have anything for me?

  • First time listener. You guys can talk about Final Fantasy as long as you want to ;) and agreed about Avengers films… I’m so sick of them… bring on X-Men Apocalypse :D
