PSN Members Get One-Time 10% PS Store Discount This Weekend
Update: The discount promotion has now ended.

Hi Everyone,

We hope your New Year is getting off to a great start! As promised, as a thank you to all of our PSN members, we are happy to announce the details of the 10 percent PlayStation Store discount. See the official terms and conditions here.

The discount will be valid from 9:00 AM 1/23 PST through 9:00 AM PST 1/26. Simply use the promotion code for a one-time 10% discount off eligible items in a total cart purchase in PlayStation Store on PS3, PS4 or the web/mobile at store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com. Some exclusions do apply, including subscriptions for PS Plus, Music Unlimited, PS Now and rental video content (update: game preorders are also excluded from this promotion, we apologize for the confusion). The code must be redeemed at checkout and discounted transaction completed before 1/26/15 at 9:00 AM.

Use the discount on hundreds of thousands of items including blockbuster new releases, award winning indie games, game add-ons and season passes, pre orders, and an enormous selection of TV and Movies to own. You can find the code on PlayStation Store and via @PlayStation.

Also, for those PS Plus members impacted by the PSN service interruption over the holidays, we have started to roll out the 5-day PS Plus membership extension, no action is required on your part.  You will receive an email in the coming days with a confirmation of details about the extension.

Thanks again for your loyalty.

  • Thanks for giving this to us after your sale has been up for days. Already spent my money on NFS Rivals on PS4 and LBP PS Vita edition. But then
then again, that was probably the point. Just give us Driveclub as promised and I will be fine. Dont waste your time with this.

  • Wow, ten percent AND time restrictions. Employees at Steam must be running around the office running into walls and each other in panic now that they’ve lost.

  • I was going to buy a bunch of stuff, but didn’t after seeing this. I bought a game that would no longer be on sale after tomorrow, an older game that likely won’t be on sale, and also picked up a F2P title. I’ll wait on the others.

  • I love you Sony!

  • …… And this ends right before payday.
    That sucks.
    Goodluck guys

  • Sucks that this is right before payday, and at the end of the month. It may be a deal but I won’t be able to take advantage of it. Maybe extend it to the first?

  • @52 Dragon-Of-MSoft and @57 SpeckTech:

He didn’t mention the Vita because the PS Store app on Vita doesn’t have any place to enter in discount codes. Only PS4 store, PS3 store, and the webstore have sections for discount codes.

You could still use the webstore to get the Vita games and use the discount code on that.

  • Please say Project CARS will be available for pre-order this weekend…

I really don’t understand what everyone is complaining is about, we were told that this was coming. If you just bought something and missed out, you only have yourself to blame for 1) Not regularly checking the blog and keeping informed; and 2) making purchases that you probably could have waited on. If you bought something in last week’s sale, then you already got a deal, so what is there to complain about?

I’m a bit bummed that Banner Saga isn’t out on PSN yet, so I won’t be able to save on that game, and I would have liked to save on a PS Plus subscription, but I’ve got other ways to save on PSN membership. Fingers crossed that Project CARS and Banner Saga will show up on the store by this weekend in some purchasable form.

  • Is the vita not included here? There aren’t too many ps4 games that scream ‘buy me’ that I don’t already own.

  • @108 – I hope so, because if it doesn’t apply to vita/psp/psp games, I wont be using it.

  • Getting 10% off on my US account and 10% off on my Japanese account too. Looks like I am going to eat some instant noodles for a week. :D

  • Ps4 plus owners should have received more than 10% really cheap of Sony.

  • I hope tomorrow’s sale isnt on the same level as the great pinball sale we had a few weeks ago. Throw some ps1 and psp games out there on sale! I picked up a couple this last week, but I’m dieing to get my hands in some of those great RPGs.

  • Annnd I made my purchase yesterday….of course. I figured 10% wasn’t gonna happen… Ugh.

  • lol 10% basically you win sony. millions of people are going to buy something cuz they have a 10% off vpucher. cha ching. thanks for nothing. thanks fot saying thankyou and i apologize only if you buy something from my store. wow…..

  • Any chance of more pre-orders going up on the store in time for this?

  • where is the code cant seem to find it im blind

  • So Sony waits until the sale is over, then only gives us 3 days to use the 10% discount…..brilliant. I mean that too, it’s brilliant. Loads of people are gonna buy something now, when they probably wouldn’t have otherwise, just so they don’t feel like they’re missing out on a deal. Sony gets to pretend they care, and they make 100 times the amount of money they normally would over a 3 day period.

Good on them though for at least throwing us an imaginary bone. They really didn’t have to do anything to begin with. Know what would be awesome though? Not having PSN go down again for DAYS.

  • is it for only one item, or one whole cart price will be discounted 10%, or every single item in my cart will be discounted 10%. just curious.

  • @119 – not exactly. I can’t speak for everyone, but I seriously doubt that saving a couple dollars will force people to make purchases they otherwise wouldn’t. Besides, most everything on psn is readily available elsewhere in physical form, and just about ALWAYS cheaper.

  • How do i get my code?

  • Hi Sony,

I’m sorry to dampen your seemingly generous offer with fact but the fact is the prices on the PSN network are already at least 20% dearer than buying a hard copy of the product at the shops. To me this has always seemed a ridiculous circumstance. Surely a hard copy has more costs involved in delivering the product. Considering printing and distributers and sub-distributers and shipping and rent and wages all requiring margin. How can you sending me a copy over the internet on my connection a fair and reasonable comparison to a hard copy. How can you justify charging more or even the same as what it costs in the shop. I personally think it is a travesty that this has been allowed to go unnoticed for so long. How do you expect people to use your services when you are so blatantly ripping people off and grabbing so much more margin for yourself. What is your catch phrase again. “This is for the players”. You left off the second half, “to get ripped off.”

My apologies for my abruptness but you need to know that even us lemmings are aware of what you are doing.

    Thanks

    Obsticalclip

  • I just pre-ordered Dying Light a few hours ago before reading this. Is there any chance I can cancel my pre-order and repurchase it with this discount once it becomes available? Please?

  • 10% off is seriously nothing

I can’t believe it’s only good for the weekend, the network was down longer than that -_-

You can keep this Sony smh

  • No thank you Sony.

I do not appreciate this customer disservice.

Next time just be transparent and get someone to slap us all in our faces.

  • Really? 3 days to use this? So for those of us for whom that falls at a downtime between checks, we just… what… get nothing?

Come on, it’s a 10% discount code that’s usable once per user… you could at least give us like a month to use it… if not longer. Let us use it when it’s convenient for us, not when it’s convenient for you.

I’m not saying it should never expire(that’d be kinda ridiculous)… but 3 days is not NEARLY long enough for even a fraction of your userbase to really make use of it.

I was planning to make my next big spend using this code when I had the money to do so… but now I’m just going to have to let it expire and simply buy less later. Good show Sony.

You guys really don’t know how to make your customers feel valued do you?

  • Hopefully there are some good discounts tomorrow through next tuesday to take advantage of this!

  • Wait, how is the discount code suppose to be used with pre-orders?

Because pre-order checkout screen shows no section to enter in a discount code. I’ve checked PS4, PS3, and web stores, and the only place I could find to enter in the code outside of viewing the cart is through online account management under Redeem Prepaid Card. Nothing on PS4 and PS3, those only allow 12-digit PSN codes under the code entry pages.

  • how do i find the code

  • Ghaaaa! I JUST bought Madden 15 today just before the announcement!

  • I don’t understand why the code is only valid for three days. Is there a reasoning behind this? I understand that some expiration date is probably necessary, but three days is EXTREMELY limited.

And frankly, if it’s only valid for three days, why even bother with the codes? Why not just make everything 10% during that time? I don’t get it.

  • Where do I get my code

  • Wow! Did y’all really put a deadline on when we could use this? How unethical! I don’t ever say anything mean, cuz I choose to keep my bad comments to myself, but this is pretty foul. You have games on the Psn store that are 3+ years old, but the DLC for those games are still $15, and you still find that to be perfectly acceptable? Where’s your logic? This is the first time in awhile that I’m disappointed in how y’all are running things. Smh!

  • when will we get the code ??

  • cool, i’ll wait if there is 15 fpr 15 sale then pre-order he order 1886 in same time

  • With this code, I’m likely to get one or two full-priced recent games normally I wouldn’t ever buy.
But, I’m sure we’ll get a crappy sales list this week store update because of this :)

  • I agree with what one person said before. If I were to buy all the Mass Effect 3 DLC I’m interested in it would be $50. 10% off that is $45. I wouldn’t make a larger purchase than that and there’s not much difference. However, if there are still sales in effect along with the 10% off then we might have something. So yeah, I’m going to see what’s already on sale and choose from that to use the coupon.

  • The 5 day PS+ extension and the 10% one time discount code was decent compensation Sony…

…but the INCREDIBLY LIMITED 3 day window to use the 10% discount is a real turnaround slap in the face insult to your customers Sony. Wow, what a joke this truly has become.

  • so where is this code am i missing something

  • Too late! I just spend 52 dollars on the 20th Anniversary Sale -_-

  • This past week was the best sale we’ve seen in months. Now that this discount is for a limited time only I’m not expecting a good sale tomorrow when the store updates. Hope I’m wrong.

  • Aalicia : not unethical for a time limit. compensation is almost always limited time. DLC prices are set by the publishers unless i am wrong

  • The code is good only for this weekend. However PSN will also be down for maintenance during this same period.

  • Nice, now i can use this to pre-order Resident Evil Revelations 2!

  • So you can only use it on one pre-order since those don’t go into the cart… great.

  • Well that’s just great. I get the 10% discount on a weekend I have zero cash for. Glad I got nothing.

  • Thanks, SEN Team!

I just redeemed my PS Rewards points for $20 PSN credit… going to use that in conjunction with this discount!

  • Yeah sure, offer a discount that i can’t even use cause i don’t get paid till the 3rd and had to use all my money this month for Rent and bills.. bravo sony bravo.. you really know how to make good on your mistakes.. NOT

  • Its january 20, why cant i download resident evil hd remaster? Did they push it back or something?

  • How do I get a code?
