Happy DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition launch day, everyone! The guys at Ninja Theory and QLOC have put in a ton of hard work to bring you what is going to be the ultimate version of DmC. By now, you’ve probably heard about all of the content that we’ve added to DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition. Just in case you missed it, check out the announce trailer that covers all the new features.

One of the coolest new features is squarely aimed at giving a difficulty boost to well-seasoned DmC players looking for challenge. In the new Must Style Mode enemies will ONLY receive damage when Dante has achieved an S-Rank combo. Especially when paired with Hardcore Mode, where a high style rank is more difficult to obtain, the mode has tested the metal of our QA and anyone that’s gotten an early look at the game.

In fact, on higher difficulty modes, our guys have had to find some pretty creative ways to fight enemies on Must Style Mode. As you can imagine, fighting enemies that don’t have the decency to refrain from teleporting can be extremely difficult to get an S rank on. Just make sure you look around, the key to defeating them will be nearby…

A cool side effect of the new mode that I know our combo vid friends will appreciate is that enemies will live much longer now, allowing for much longer combos before they are killed off. With the video upload capabilities of PS4, I’m expecting way more combo videos than we’re used to seeing. Or in my case, video tributes to how quickly I get wrecked.

    Dante is back better than ever!

    Disappointed in the lack of a pre-download or at least putting the game up on the pa store at midnight so I could play right after work. Oh well.

    Can’t wait to play the best DMC in the series in 60fps! Can’t wait for a sequel as well!

    1. A HD version of Resident Evil 0, 2, and 3: Nemesis for the PlayStation 3. Resident Evil 0 and 4 HD for PlayStation Plus on the PlayStation 3.
    2. Bionic Commando 2009 for PlayStation Plus on the PlayStation 3. Bionic Commando 2?
    3. A Mega Man collection for the PlayStation 3 in HD.
    4. Okami HD for PlayStation Plus on the PlayStation 3.
    5. A remastered version of Darkwing Duck and DuckTales 2 for the PlayStation 3.
    6. Bring back P.N.03, Power Stone, and Viewtiful Joe.

    Why did Capcom even bother bringing this to ps4? I played it on ps3 and i’ve never been so turned off by a game. DMC’s version of Dante was one of the most aggressively douchey characters i’ve ever seen in a videogame and the story was such cliche crap. Your usual evil corporation mind controlling citizens and Dante has to stop him. Its embarrassing how lazy the game was, especially compared to Devil May Cry 3.

    Definitely gonna be picking this one up once the store updates. I know I’m in the minority, but I loved it on PS3. I just haven’t had the chance to finish it due to an ever growing backlog :(

    Anyone know a way I can get the entire DMC franchise before DMC 4 comes out because I never got the chance to finish the 1st DMC game along with the other two after it so if you guys know how to get the entire franchise on PS4 I’d really appreciate it, thanks.

    I’m waiting for digital version to be on store as well…it’s odd since Hotline Miami 2 is on there (so the store must’ve updated), but still no DMC :/.

    Rey, before you consider another RE HD remake or spinoff, give us an Onimusha sequel! It’s been 2 generations since the last game. All Capcom ever does is churn out pointless RE sequels and spinoffs, GIVE IT A BREAK! Revive Onimusha.

      I wouldn’t call RE games pointless. Resident Evil HD Remaster has set records for digital downloads on PSN, so there’s obviously a demand. Onimusha is a great series too that I personally would like to see as well.

      I have no idea. I work for Capcom. Those titles are Bethesda and Naughty Dog respectively. I couldn’t get into Dishohoured, but Uncharted is great.

    Big Fan of this game! I go buy now. Oh and bring back Viewtiful Joe and Reboot Lost Planet (But in the style of Lost Planet 1) Multiplayer still the best to this day! :)

    Agreed with 19. Nobody wanted this garbage the first go around so why the remaster? Only remaster games worthy of the time and here’s a thought, actually release the damn game for people who like owning and not renting. Digital only is BS and you guys know it. Stop it. O_o

    I feel like I’m in the minority when I say this but… I really, really hope there is another game in this re-telling of DMC… I absolutely loved Ninja Theory’s take (altho it did seem watered down from their first trailer in terms of style and flair), so I really hope this isn’t the end.

    On that note tho, I’ve already bought this on Steam when it first came out (and all the DLC), so I don’t need to buy this version on PS4, but I do hope it does well! Capcom deserves it for taking a risk with Ninja Theory, and Ninja Theory deserves it for trying something new within an existing IP.

    I also apologize if anyone disliked it. I had nothing to do with it obviously, but I’m sure Capcom will listen and eventually give you the DMC you’ve been waiting for too.

    20,- would have been okay, but not 40,- Not for a remastered edition. PS+ members of the PS3 got the original game for free a few months ago by the way.

    I tried playing DMC1 HD ages ago, but I never got past the first Chapter/Level. Maybe I’ll try re-playing it soon.

    Anyways, I’m looking forward to playing the reboot on my PS3 soon though, I just ordered the game two days ago from Amazon.

    (I won’t be buying or playing the PS4 version until Christmas 2016 at the earliest)
