  • Need to see who gets online and wee should be able to choose if we whant to be shown as offline

  • all that is wonderful but when can i get invisible status ? why is this such a hard feature to add? you guys know that people do enjoy doing things in private sometimes while still enjoying their online features some games aren’t the same when played offline and doesn’t all have to do with multiplayer

some people want to play online for certain features but not have everyone know its so annoying when im playing a game like dragon age and my friends send me a million invites for GTA or another MP game but i want to play online for other reasons or features or if im watching netflix or basketball i dont want a million invites from people which with my friends list always happens i love my friends but they can be annoying lol…

and before anyone makes excuses for sony just stop it because i shouldn’t have to turn my internet off i want to be online i don’t want to use another profile because i dont wan’t to lose out on trophies and things of that nature its not something i want 100% of the time just sometimes i should have the option to be invisible its that simple

  • Displaying your total time spent on the PS4 and on games would be very cool.

  • So wat about playstation beta

  • They need to add two factor Authentication so people can’t highjack accounts…. But they don’t care about security. Microsoft add this to stop high jacking accounts but it seems Sony benefits from it so that don’t want to fix this.

  • bring in the spotify soon after this :)

  • Displaying your total time spent on the PS$ and on games would be very cool.

  • Come on Sony, I need DNLA and you need to fix the EDID issues that are stopping HDMI 5.1 passthrough to TVs using optical sound outputs (http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-4-Support/Dolby-5-1-via-HDMI-on-PS4/td-p/42123275/page/13)

I just traded my PS3 in last week for the PS4 and now I wish I hadn’t.

  • This is awesome!! Cannot wait!!!

  • Baby steps, i suppose…. Watching the PS4 develop is painfully slow, but I appreciate the new features. For me, about the only feature that I’ll use is the USB backup.

    DLNA / local media playback

    Spotify

  • And allow us to have two primary PS4 like that did in PS3.

And guess account playing online like the PS3. Not everyone wants to create a account to play online.

  • Still no DLNA support. Frustrating.

  • Will this update fix the Blu-ray 1080 24p lipsync issue?

  • Is the Remote Play app on Xperia phones/tablets going to be updated to support 60fps? Please say yes.

  • When are you guys going to add notifications when friends come online, like what the PS3 had?!? It’s really annoying not knowing when one of your friends comes online especially if you’re in the middle of a game!

  • Any chance of being able to switch the menu “enter” and “confirm” buttons? Or is this just for controller input?

  • DLNA should be a given and should’ve been a day one inclusion but something else that really pisses me off is the lack of bluetooth headset/remote support. We still can’t use a flippin’ bluetooth headset! I don’t know about anyone else but my controller headset jack is finicky with everything but that crap mono headset they included in the box.

    So….Sony….

    DLNA!
    Bluetooth Support!
Take your sharing trophies crap and shove it!

Until this box grows up it will continue to be turned on once a month for the free Playstation Plus games download and my PS3 will continue to be used everyday. PS4 has been such a let down for me.

  • Question. Being that it’s acknowledged that trophies are important to players, why is there a trophy cap on the PS 4? There are rare instances of games such Zen Pinball 2 and The Pinball Arcade that have endless DLC and have either hit or are very near to that limit. Why can’t there be exceptions? thanks.

  • Requesting the option to delete the garbage from my crowded, cluttered library (betas, demos, etc.). I would really appreciate it, thank you.

  • What will be great is to have 4K quality picture running at 60fps minimum.
Sadly, PS4 is already behind in that matter compare to PC.
Hopefully we will not to have to wait for PS5 to see 2160p picture quality.

  • .PNG screenshots please!

  • Yet no bluetooth support only been 3 years but hey let’s scam our customers by making them buy absolutely **** headsets for outrageous amounts of money when I have 2 sony yes sony headsets that aren’t supported yeah I said sony headsets sad that your own products won’t work with this piece of **** system

  • Will it cause my PS4 to go into the eternal safe mode-reboot loop like every update so far has or is that one of the “features” being fixed?

  • Usb hard drive support baby!!!! Wooo! Thank you Sony! I love you. In your face guy who told me to change my internal Hard drive.

  • Is it a backup of everything or can we pick and choose the game we want to back up?

  • I will be happy when ps4 can download music and videos straight from the internet, just like the ps3 did!!!!! >:/

  • What about the messaging system on PS4 will the delay of getting and sending messages be fixed?

PS Store on PS4 bug when you load the store and its an infinite loading?

  • am I going to play videos off my USB port or no!

  • Still waiting to be able to pair my Turtle Beach headset via bluetooth. I know Sony wants to sell headsets but this is kinda BS that we are this far in and still constricted.

  • If you’re working on making it faster to get back to gameplay from start-up, how about TRIM support so that we can finally start using SSDs?

  • Still Waiting on an invite to game button on the profile…

  • Are we ever going to be able to use our own pictures for backgrounds instead of buying those stupid themes?? Xbox 1 has had this option for some time now.

  • Why oh why can we not change our user names yet?

I will never understand why this platform lags so far behind the others in terms of user friendly features.

  • Really could use an option to change my user id name without effecting my account or opening a new one

  • This update along with Bloodborne makes this a nice double hitter week. :)

Is there any chance we might be able to get a upload and share screenshot feature for the PS4 sharing as well some day? Would go long nicely with the neat trophy screenshot idea :)

  • Hey Sony, how about you allow audio to be output to headset AND TV?

Even the XBOX 360 could do that…

  • The amount of “still no….” whining is amazing. Some people will complain about anything.

  • Yep.. I’m surprised… STILL NO DLNA. WTF, bruhs.

  • @ajwilson55 that’s because there’s a bunch of basic functionalities that shoulda been available by now. We’re all not as fortunate as you to be satisfied with the current options.

  • The option to delete games from the library please.

  • @54 – LilRican

You can turn off party invites while you watch Netflix. or a movie now.

Not sure if someone else replied to you.

Go to Settings, scroll to Notifications and there you should see a number of things you can turn on/off by ticking what you want.

    Hope that helps.

  • 2.04 (current) to 2.50 is an unusually large leap, no?

  • I really like the button mapping feature, but what would really make it awesome is if sometime in the future we can save mapping presets that can be changed on the fly just by holding the PS button. That alone would be so helpful especially with the amount of fighting games that are set to come out this year.

  • really excited about these features.

Sad that PS1 and PS2 Backward Compatibility and PS3 Bluray Remote Support is not among them.

  • So, does anyone know if you could backup a game’s patch and apply it on another PS4? I’m asking because I think for those with bad internet connection(like me) or no internet access at all, this would be a huge boon to enjoying games fully. Case in point: I got Bloodborne but the update wouldn’t even start for me. The PSN store wouldn’t even show up too. If I could download the Bloodborne patch on a PC, then apply it via USB, that would be really fantastic. Anyone with me?

  • “Automatic Installation for System Software Updates — Enable automatic installation for future system software updates.”

    Finally.

  • The entire design of the PDM/XMB or whatever we’re calling it this gen needs a redesign. You like to boast about how this is the most socially connected console, but I feel absolutely disconnected from my friends. With the PS3, you have your massive friends list in a dedicated drop-down that was equal to games and everything else. When you boot your PS3, the first thing you do is look at your friends list. You see who’s online, you take notice of the colors, the avatars, the messages.
You said you don’t want a copy/paste from PS3, but PS3 did it all so much better. PS4’s interface feels like an app. It feels generic.. barebones. And you guys are just gradually adding little things to improve a poor design. I’m in that extreme tier of die-hard PlayStation fans, but nothing about PS4 has really knocked my socks off the way PS3 did. It totally blew me away and up until the end I still considered it to be a super relevant platform.

  • (continued) As the years go by and we see PS5 and PS6 etc.. (assuming we still get consoles), I am afraid the PS4 will be remembered as a bit of a dud in the PlayStation line. Yeah there are some great games and sure there will be more, yeah there will be Morpheus, but it’s just not as strong as the previous 3 consoles. It saddens me greatly. You need to do more. Give us a fresh take on the XMB, don’t hide the friends list. We have to do more navigating on the PS4 to get to all the same stuff we had on PS3. Much more.

  • And people, WHY do we have 3 pages of everyone repeating all the same things that were noted in the first 15 replies? Yes, DLNA is a big one, but Sony is well aware that people have been demanding it since PS4’s launch. If you don’t have something new to add, then stop wasting space because no one who matters is going to notice people who are actually contributing important notes.
Speaking of which – There has of course been much talk about MP3 support. What I would like to ADD to that is that we need proper importing and playlists. When I played Gran Turismo 5, I loved having my custom playlist to listen to. As it stands, we obviously can’t do that, and what’s worse is that game developers have no reason or way to add that type of support from within their games’ audio settings. If, in a couple of years PS4 finally gets there, we’re going to have years worth of games that won’t be compatible.
And back to the complainers about deleting 1%+ trophy progress: That is a no-no. As Scott explained, that would give us no security if someone else were to get on our accounts and mess with our things, or if we mistakenly deleted the wrong trophy set. That is why it will rightfully never happen.
