If you’re the least bit squeamish, you may want to cover your eyes — the iconic fighting series is back, along with its wince-inducing collection of finishing moves.

Mortal Kombat X storms onto PS4 this week with eye-popping graphics (in some cases literally), a new style variation system, and a huge roster of fighters. Like its 2011 predecessor, Mortal Kombat X retains many of the elements that gamers fell in love with back during the original run, but with enhanced control and new bone-crunching X-ray attacks. And by enabling players to select between three different styles for each fighter, the already sizable collection of combatants just about triples.

If Mortal Kombat X is a little too graphic for your tastes, consider the retro-inspired Titan Souls. In this ambitious indie project, players only have a single arrow to defeat monstrous bosses and explore a strange and wondrous world.

    Glad to see Teslagrad finally coming. I’ll be getting that and Mortal Kombat X. Undecided about Titan Souls right now. Not real happy with Devolver’s choice to raise the price at the last minute.

    Hi Ryan, I am really enjoying MonsterBag for the PS Vita, it is a fun and colorful adventure. I do have a question about PSOne Classics. Any chance we can get Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue added to the PSN store? They were my favorite JRPG’s growing up and I would love to play them again on my Vita or PS3/PS4. I’ve noticed you have added other titles by the people who developed this game already into the PSN. I would definitely buy these day one if they were added!

    And I know this is probably up to Agetec (whom I’ve emailed before), but I’m hoping we can see more of their titles on PSN. Kuon and King’s Field and Echo Night Beyond in particular.

    Now i see Shu wants us to give Aoki ideas for PlayStation features? As if you guys listen. We already have blog.share with HUNDREDS of ideas, most of which we’ve been asking for for years. Sony knows what we want. They just do what they do, and if it happens to match a request, voila! Its looks like you listen.

    We asked for prices on the Drop. A simple request. You decided to ignore it. Why should i think you actually implement a feature on PlayStation if you cant do something simple like prices? Hell, you cant even get the CORRECT prices on release day!

    Nice to see more PS2 Classics, especially Gradius V since I’d given up trying to find a decently priced copy. Any info on being able to play PS1 and PS2 games on the PS4? I’m kinda surprised no game journalist I’ve seen has asked Sony directly, it’s as if the Playstation brand started when the first Uncharted came out for a lot of them.

    And yes, I know you probably can’t comment if you knew Ryan, but at least pass word along that we’d like to hear something.

    5. Please allow active PS+ users to buy a game they already got for free on IC. I could not buy Batman Arkham two weeks ago because I got it for free with PS+

    6. Please allow users to buy games in PS Now

    7. Please allow users who already brought PS3 games digitally to get them on PS Now with no additional cost

    @17 you will only be able to play ps1 and 2 games on ps4 via Now. That way, you can be charged over and over again instead of just once. Enjoy!

    When a journalist asked Yoshida about PS3 games from PSN when the PS4 was announced, Yoshida said it might make more business sense to emulate PS1 and PS2 games locally on the PS4.

    Yes, Sony’s actually volunteered more information about PS1 and PS2 games on PS4 than they’ve been asked. I’ve seen it a couple times where a game journalist asked an exec about PS Now and the reply threw in a mention that it might not make sense for older games. Half my frustration is that no one asks about it, makes it look like there’s no interest.

    $99 for Titan Souls? Why not a million? Maybe a single person will buy it. Sorry, still salty after idiotic price for Axiom Verge. TS is a $10 game, $8 on PS+, free on PS+ in 3-6 months. There are SO MANY good games to play right now if you think there is a game drought think again. You’re not getting maximum money by starting at $20. Gamers make exactly 1 value assessment per game then move on.

    Another wasted week for ps vita. I love how some good ball said we vita owners are why there are no good games on the vita. I bought a vita, I bought the games, I supported Sony yet somehow the word we suggests I am part of its downfall. Allow me to help those who think most of us had anything to do with this vita loss… All I can do is buy the vita, buy the games and cross my fingers for more. Certainly Sony is not asking me for games that make money. Instead they ask some other group that decides what I want… Hence why it’s been a waste. I already own a 3ds and this site is for Sony and not nintendo. I just wish Sony supported vita as they could have. A huge list of ps2, ps3 games float in space unused. They have no clue what people want because if they did they would be asking myself and other vita owners not the good ball fan boys who talk about 3ds’s on a Sony site… Troll alert! The vita is great, powerful and wasted. But like I said they aren’t listening to us and the trolls just have opinions that are even more a waste. Sony does what they want and just dish out crap that saddens me because I want Sony and the vita to succeed.

    Literally played more Gradius V than everything else on PS2 combined. Loved that game.

    If you played Gradius back in the day, this one is a bit more accessible in that you don’t have to lose your options when you die.

    And Sony didn’t release Japanese games on PSN. GungHo and Monkey Paw have both released import versions of games. Go bug them.

    Color Guardians on PS4 and PS Vita got pushed back to 04/21/2015 if anyone didn’t notice.

    A couple of nights ago, I found myself playing Streetfighter IV on the PS3 again. When asked by a strange voice why I wasn’t voice-chatting during the game, I sadly threw my Dual Shock 3 into the screen and cried about how my headset was now connected to the PS4.

    Although this game may soothe some fans of the Mortal interest persuasion, I adamantly await new regarding the release of Ultra Streetfigher IV on the PS4.
