Hey crew! Gio Corsi here, Director of Third Party Production, and I wanted to give you all a quick “great news” update on Ultra Street Fighter IV PS4 with less than a week before its digital launch on May 26th!

The big update: Ultra Street Fighter IV will support PS4 FightSticks, of course. But we’ve also included Lab Zero’s drivers so that USFIV will support licensed PS3 FightSticks as well. For more details on how this will work, please check the Capcom Unity or Lab Zero sites after the game launches on May 26.

Other reminders:

  • Ultra SFIV on PS4 will be running at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second for all your fighting glory.
  • The PS4 version of USFIV will also include all DLC launched up to this point, including the most recent Vacation and Wild costume packs.
  • A few of you hardcore Street Fighters out there said that there was minor input lag in the controls of Ultra Street Fighter IV for PS3. Well, don’t worry: We’ve eliminated it to make the PS4 edition the ultimate version on any platform!
  • The price is $24.99.

We’ll see you online next week! In the meantime, check out Capcom’s brand-spanking-new trailer above celebrating the upcoming launch of Ultra Street Fighter IV on PS4. Enjoy!

  • Why is this port so incredibly bad? You’d think the PC version’s code would’ve made for an easy port instead of this busted mess.

  • Um, this port is broken. So many problems. Frame delay, choppy menus. Lots of weird things. Check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t37aduSSFNc

Why was this released in such a broken state? Rush job and you guys (Sony) unfortunately gave it to Other Ocean for the port. Please patch this up before EVO.

  • This port is bad.

    1. The Input Lag is worse not eliminated
    2. There isn’t any anisotropic filtering
    3. The game seems to lack anti-aliasing
    4. The menus lag
    5. PSN ID’s don’t show up above your BP/PP rankings on line.
    6. There are several sound glitches, missing intro effects, Gouken’s Shin Shoruken sound effect is off, The Brazil level has a weird howling sound
    7. The character data does line up with existing versions. Decapre’s teleports being a prime example.

What is being done to rectify this? I’m extremely disappointed. I bought this game in good faith. It’s the official version of the Capcom Pro Tour. CEO is a month away, EVO is couple of months away. How can we expect proper high level play if the game doesn’t run properly. My second laptop is 5 years old, it runs USFIV on PC at max settings above 60fps. There is no excuse for this game to run so poorly on PS4. There are lot angry SF fans out there right now.

  • This port makes me ashamed to be Canadian.

  • Also the organizer of Evo’s already stated on Twitter that if this isn’t fixed, they’re going to use the 360 version.

  • I feel like you lied to us. There is Input lag and many screen glitches with slow down! I’m very disappointed with Capcom. To think you made us wait with delays for the next game too.

  • Hey Gio,

The issues for this game need to be addressed by Playstation and Capcom. The potential is there, but it needs patch work and it needs it pretty badly. For those of us that supported this release and te promises made, someone needs to say something about it.

  • I can’t help but feel cheated after purchasing this port. Seeing the PS Blog claim that this was the definitive version and finding out that it plays worse than just about every other version. It’s basically amounting to false advertising and not being able to get a refund for this faulty software will def have an impact on my future spending habits on the PSN store. :(

  • Evo confirmed that they will use the 360 version instead of this one.

Great job Third Party Production doing “the ultimate version on any platform!” lol

Next time, try to look who the hell you guys are hiring to do the port.

  • Oof. I don’t know who, but it seems like *someone* has some explaining to do…

  • This port is abomination and disgrace to whole PS ecosystem – worst version of SF4 known to man as you ca nsee here http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-ultra-street-fighter-4-ps4-face-off .
People responsible for hiring Other Ocean (famous for all of their releases being complete **** from technical point) should be fired and blacklisted from this industry.

  • You mention the input lag being eliminated for this version, but its not listed in the patch notes. Was it also improved upon?

  • There’s also an audio issue where the music plays even though the BGM audio is at it’s lowest setting…

Will you please let the makers know for me?

    Thanks…

  • You can add AA to future patches, is a shame call this the definitive version when ps4 version not matches the pc counterpart.

  • I must admit I’m pretty impressed with all the improvements in the latest patch, but obviously there’s still a lot of issues left to be addressed. Here’s to hoping OO can continue to turn things around.

  • Dear Mr. Corsi

I’d REALLY appreciate an answer to this. Is USF4 on PS4 ever coming to Asia PSN Store??

The reason I ask is because I’m a UK guy living in Japan. But there are hardly any Japanese/Korean players online to fight against.

I really hope it’s released here at some point!!

    All the best!

    JJ

  • They have not released Patch #2 for Ultra Street Fighter IV PS4? When are they going to release Patch #2 for Ultra Street Fighter IV PS4? There is still a lot of issues left to be addressed to be the definitive version of Ultra Street Fighter IV PS4.

  • Happy to see there’s a new patch. One request: please let us to use something other than the touch-pad button to bring up move info in the challenge mode. Some 3rd party gamepads and fightsticks don’t have that button.

  • OK, nearly PERFECT like 360/PC Version, but not quite there yet.

Game settings still not as good as Ultra settings on PC.

Also i did tests on Input Lag and it NEARLY reached 360 Input Lag

“5.3 frames of lag vs 5.1 for 360”

Since you promised this is the definitive edition mainly needs 2 things, graphics equal it to ultra settings on PC and beat or reach same Input Lag as 360.

  • Please check read here from Pro’s for few more tiny improvements:

    http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1061336

  • I can still hear the game music even though the setting is as zero – can you please let them know for me?

(I hear my music plus the BGM music & I – of course – just want to hear mine)

    Thanks…

  • I’m so happy that they released a second patch for Ultra Street Fighter IV for PS4. When are they going to release the third patch and the remaining patches for it to be the definitive version of Ultra Street Fighter IV on PS4?

  • They need to put default colors 11 and 12, fix the visuals, texture blurs, colors, Anti-Aliasing, AF, graphics, press start on the title screen and everything.

  • Still can’t get over the flat out false advertising of this. Laws really need to be enacted to make digital advertisement accountable for crap like that, just as any other form of advertisement in this world.

If you claim you eliminated lag, and then have to release a patch to reduce the lag and it’s STILL not as good as other versions of the game, well then that’s just called flat out lying.

  • It is a shame that this game has to be preening by patches, it would be best to return the money, take it out on other ocean and do it again with decent people in charge.
