PS Plus: Free Games for June 2015

Looking for the PS Plus lineup? Well, you’ve come to the right place, friends. Please take off your shoes and stay awhile…

This month, the lineup includes four games you can play on PS4. And we’re starting off big with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on PS4. The latest chapter in the renowned Metal Gear series sends Big Boss into a high-security Cuban military base on a daring rescue mission. Use new stealth techniques along with Snake’s iconic repertoire to infiltrate the base (and perhaps mess around with enemy soldiers along the way).

Also on PS4 is Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition, a turn-based strategy game with a twist: your army is undead! Undead samurai, to be exact. Build up your forces and conquer all to reclaim your honor!

As mentioned above, both PS Vita games in the lineup are also available on PS4. That’s right, you can play Super Exploding Zoo and Futuridium EP Deluxe on PS Vita and PS4. And rounding out our list is Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and Cloudberry Kingdom on PS3.

These games will be free for PS Plus members starting on June 2nd. If you prefer watching videos instead of reading, hit the play button below to see the full lineup.

A psychedelic, retro-inspired shooter with crazy action, puzzle elements, and a bumping electronic soundtrack. May or may not induce random dance parties.

Call of Juarez

This first-person shooter celebrates the wild west in a big, bloody way. Take down anyone unlucky enough to cross bounty hunter Silas Greaves.

Cloudberry Kingdom
Cloudberry Kingdom (PS3)

The dev team behind this insane 2D platformer spent 2 years building an AI that could build a near-infinite number of levels for any difficulty. It looks totally bananacakes. Good luck with that!

  • Please consider also having the PS3 version of Ground Zeroes available for the IGC.

It really kind of stinks for people who don’t have a PS4 when there *is* a PS3 version of a game, but it’s not offered (Injustice was another example of this.)

  • What happened to Kristine Steimer?!! I miss her voice! :(

  • I don’t like whining, but putting MGSV GZ aside, it’s another pretty weak month :/

I’ve already bought and played 30 hours of GZ, but in PS3, so, I’m glad that I won’t have to buy it again when I get a PS4. So thanks for that. I know nothing about the other 3 PS4/PSVita titles.

And the PS3 line-up (which is the only console I own now)… They don’t call my attention, but, Call of Juarez has some good reviews, so I will try it. I think that getting an AAA title for one of the consoles won’t hurt us :P

  • But I already bought MGSV it should ‘ve been Octodad just add another typical indie game for PS Plus.

  • Already have MGSV: Ground Zero however it’s a great game for those who haven’t played it as of yet.

    Thanks for the heads-up Ryan.

  • I love you Ryan Clements!

  • This Is A Pretty Decent Lineup.
However I Bought “Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes” Digitally A Long While Back :(
But Hey i Always Wanted to Get A Chance To Play “Call Of Juarez” & Futuridium looks Pretty Awesome!
The Rest are Meh At first Glance But I will Download them To My Download List And Try them any like the rest of my IGC!

Its an ok month to say the least even if i bought “Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes” Too Early :(
The Following Games Are what i would of preferred for june’s Lineup However.

    Axiom Verge (ps4)
Hotline Miami 2 Wrong Number (Ps4 +Cross Play) (one & Two if possible, But definetly Two!)
    Twisted Metal (ps3)
Alice Madness Returns Ultimate Edition (ps3)
    Shovel Knight (Vita+cross Play)
    Titan Souls (Vita+ Cross Play)

But if you Could Add The Games Above in Junes Flash Sale At highly Discounted Prices It would Be Greatly appreciated!!
Please let me know if you agree with me Ryan Clements, Aswell as anybody on this Comment Board!
Go ahead and add your own June Flash Sale Suggestions!

  • Poopookakabumbum

I wish you guys would stop advertising these as “free”.

    They aren’t.

You have to pay to access them and lose them once you stop paying.

This is technically false advertising and could face legal action if you don’t stop portraying them as something they are not.

  • forgot about this since the ps experience took up most of my time

  • Hey Sony, seriously, you got to up the cloud storage space, especially for PS4. The PS4 game saves are huge and they are killing the cloud storage limit. Make it unlimited and also, how about manking them PS4 saves smaller too! HDD space is precious and between the full game installs (which should be optional in my opinion), huge patches (way to big in my opinion) and these huge save files, you are killing our HDD space.

Which leads me to my next point, whats going on with the next firmware update? You need to speed these up. There is still ALOT we need, friend on/offline notifications (with on/off options), folders, external HDD support, full internal video and music file support, DLNA, Auto-sync of trophies, uncompressed or better image quality snapshots and fix the framey/stuttery content area scrolling and more.

  • You need to get back to supporting the PS3 a lot more like you were. There’s still a lot of PS3 gamers who don’t have a PS4 and pay for PS Plus. You have a lot of old PS3 games that were never part of PS Plus. Start looking into adding those games to your lineup. Or does that conflict with your streaming service?

  • Now Here,s something that is intersing to look for in June lol MGS ground Zeros I,II definitely be playing that lol thats one thing to look for finally waking up the shadows I,d tell ya haha.

  • Another poor month of plus games……. Already own MGS and the rest is garbage. If it doesn’t pick up come July, I’m not even going to bother renewing my membership.

  • REALLY? A free 20 minute demo is a PS Plus game? I am so disappointed with all the hype of a big game and we get a frakking demo.

  • Last month was much better. This month reeks of cheapness. Disappointing. Indie flash games and a demo really?

  • Sly Cooper Collection would be a sweet Vita offer for Plus members. HINT HINT.
Thanks for the free games for June, may had one that I totally love and didnt’t think I would like with Unfinished Swan.

  • Hmm, interesting month. I haven’t enjoyed a MGS game in years so that will be something different. Others look okay. Sadly, I hated the choices last month except Race the Sun which was surprizingly addicting.

  • Please do NOT let Ryan do the PS Plus video EVER again. Holy crap. Who the heck refers to themselves by their last name? Kristine and Sid are the ONLY people who should do these videos.

  • Hi. I was just wondering, couldn’t their be a choice of games to pick from? What I mean specifically by this is, instead of giving people Metal Gear Ground Zeros – which is an excellent game that I already own – couldn’t their be a choice between the big titles? For example, June PS+ members could pick between Metal Gear Ground Zeros or Killzone or Knack. This would increase the chances of each PS+ member getting a big title each month instead of “just an independent title”.

  • the PS4 games are decent for once. Vita’s is still crap

  • definitely excited for this, cant wait to play call of jaurez but i was hoping that ground zeroes would be free on ps3 as well, last i checked it was on it unless im mistaken

  • @15 lazhiral

It’s alright, you don’t need a PS4 to get games for it. Just go to the online Sony Entertainment Network store and from there, you can purchase games for all 4 systems (PS3, PS4, PSP and Vita). That’s how I had many PS4 games already by the time I got my PS4!

  • Weak month, should i say. I’m buying a PS4 next month, and this selection of games doesn’t appeal to me (the best game in this selection is MGSV, which i already own on PS3).

I would love to sse MLB 14 the Show on the list (i have it on the PS3, but i would like to play it on the PS4), but i don’t think it will happen.

  • I really wish the Vita would get another good title for ps plus. Seems like all the good stuff was free almost a year ago (aside from killzone mercenary)

  • Another month of “Not so good” games for PS Vita and that Super Exploding Zoo doesn’t even apear in the PSN Store search but I’m looking forward to play Call of Juarez YIEY!!!!

  • Hello,

When are we going to get the promised Driveclub PS+ free?

  • Man, these PS+ offerings just keep getting worse and worse. I never did get into the MGS franchise, so maybe I’ll try that out, but other than that it’s a pretty crap month. Hope we at least see some decent sales or something to make up for the lack of free games.

  • Great month for PS4… too bad I have a ps3 and already own both those games…

  • Really dissapointed lineup for the vita….again :(
This isn’t funny anymore, come on Sony are you forgetting YOU made the vita
and vita owners also want AAA games, not just some bad cross-buy games.
In december there was injustice for the PS4 but that one wasn’t Cross-buy for Vita owers whyyyyyyy

  • @96

Well The Witcher 3 was delayed to 3 months for bug fixing and polishing. Since the release it’s now had 4 patches to 1.04. And now the game is getting 600 changes. They maybe should of delayed the game to november. Anyhow MGS 5 will have high quality check before release, I very much doubt it will have a day one patch because it will be polished. Dont forget MGS 5 has been in development for over 5 years 2 years longer then the witcher. Also the fox engine was designed for open world games, and is a far superior engine. And we are talking about Hideo Kojima here, who is simply the best in the business.

  • @Mokajige You now know how ps4 system owners felt for the best part of a year

  • assassinchamp_66

Excited for MGS V but really wish cloudberry kingdom was on PS4 i would have loved the challenge

  • ProdigyKuroiShan

Rather disappointing line-up for the PS3 especially after all the hype about E3 happening this month.

  • PATHETIC! I don’t want this for VITA, where are the real games? At least some games that someone has actually bought once?

  • Ground Zeroes is very short, so many people can enjoy this game for free. Its an excellent deal.

  • I just bought MGS a month ago…. sigh.

  • Theseventensplit

So glad that I went and spent money buying mgsv grounds zeroes TWO WEEKS AGO! They just had it on sale! Seems wrong to do that.

  • Its been so many months since I actually was happy for a PS+ lineup, been really disappointing lately, could I at least get a JRPG for the Vita?

  • Hey Ryan, cool lineup this month :) But why isn’t Ground Zeroes available on PS3 as well?

  • havent touched any of these, cool month, great to see more and more games for the ps4!

  • Nice! Thank you very much.

  • I’m going to laugh when you guys get booed at E3 this year. You’ve done nothing but screw up that gamer good will you got a couple years back. Demos should be free for everyone and definitely shouldn’t be given as part of the IGC.

  • Thank you for another disappointing month. The month’s offerings anchored by a paid demo.

  • @98 It would make sense to play ground zeroes before The Phantom Pain. The Phantom pain will no way be hollow, theres been tons of improvements to the phantom pain since ground zeroes. Also Konami recently hosted a preview event to invite world journalists to play the first chapter which contains the prologue and 11 missions, that’s only one chapter. It took journalists 7-12 hours to complete chapter 1 without doing side missions. The embargo of the preview lifts on 9th june. And according to there reactions, were all in for a treat.

  • bt1234567892010

Was hoping for something big that screams, “E3’s here!” not, Ground Zeroes. I’ll play it for sure, but unless I fall in love with it I doubt I’ll play beyond one playthrough. Was hoping for DRIVECLUB or one of the other AAA PS4 games, like, Killzone Shadow Fall, or even Knack. there are plenty of first party games that could come into the PS4 IGC, that would require less hoops than say, anything by EA or Ubisoft. Or Activison.

but anyway, even though it’s short it alone will be worth the $4 for the month. Gunslinger I own and Super Exploding Zoo I doubt I’ll play extensively, but I like the lineup overall. Only disappointment is Ground Zeroes, but like I said, I’ll play it at least.

  • Ground Zeroes is hardly a demo whose only plot point revolves around the game’s ONLY female character being brutally abused. It’s easily the worst game of this selection, and the others aren’t exactly classics.

  • GUNSLINGERS!!! Finally! I’ve been waiting for a long time. I know it’s only 15 bucks, but hey, free it’s always better.

Just need the price of the PS4 to drop in Brazil (right now it’s USD 670,00… ouch!) so I can finally buy one and play all the free games.

  • Honesty I wish people would stop moaning about Ground Zeroes, that Demo has more quality then most games out. At least it’s playable, and that buttery 60fps gameplay which no other game can seem to master. Also you be very surprised on how much you can do. It’s free now give it a try.

  • @146 lol You’re just contradict yourself in that comment.

  • Alright I’m officially cancelling my PS+ now. I signed up because all systems were getting great free games each month but lately PS3 has been getting shafted hard. I only have a PS3 and all we get with PS+ is the free games and sales as the online has no cost yet it’s still 60 bucks anyway and they don’t even do anything to even out the worth. Hell I’d be happy to just have the same quality of games as PS4 gets but as it stands now I’m paying to lose money here. Not one game worth playing once again. All I get is one or two decent indie games every two months and they are great but only last 4 hours max. Like really you couldn’t just give us Ground Zeroes too and kick out Call of Juarez? Ugh this ranting is pointless but hopefully someone from Sony sees this and makes someone aware they are losing customers this way. Lost me anyway and I tried lying to myself and tried to hold out as long as I could but I can’t do it any more. I can’t afford a PS4 for another year or two and I got a nice size backlog anyway I’m not giving you another 400 bucks just to get the rewards I already paid 60 bucks for.
