Vote to Play Coming Soon Exclusively for PS Plus Members

Hey PlayStation Nation – as you all know, we love to hear your feedback and work to bring those asks, demands and needs to life wherever possible. With that in mind, I’m thrilled to announce a new PlayStation Plus promotion that literally puts the choice in your hands – Vote to Play. This promotion enables PlayStation Plus members to vote on one of several PlayStation 4 games for the upcoming month’s Instant Game Collection.

The game with the most votes will automatically be included in our future free game lineup for PlayStation Plus. If your pick didn’t make the lineup, don’t worry. In the first promotion, PlayStation Plus members can get the runner ups at a discount. We love to listen to our fans – and we’re super excited to launch this promotion.

We’ll have more details for you soon on when voting begins, what titles will be up for voting, and how you can cast your vote.

    This is a terrible idea. All you’re going to get is more users annoyed at other users for picking the “wrong” game. There’s a reason Steam did away with community sale voting. I hope you all enjoy your 900 zombie games the community will pick each and every month.

    This is a great idea. Hopefully Sony keeps ignoring this vocal minority here and keeps putting smaller games on the IGC. If they always put AAA games on the IGC, we would just get games that most of us (the silent and happy majority) have beaten months or years ago. Most of these games all these kids are begging for can be bought at most retailers for $5 to $15 dollars anyway.

    This is a good PR move by Sony, but it wont be good for gamers I suspect. We will end up with more generic mass appeal games or the flavour of the week games, (think Goat Simulator) instead of some hidden gems that were overlooked. The better option would be to present 3 games to us, and we get to pick the 2 we want. People with different tastes might be more satisfied, but maybe logistically this wouldn’t be feasible…..?

    didn’t finish reading all the comments, but seems to me like not enough people are saying what needs to be said: This is a great idea!!! Depending on what the list of games will look like and if this is a one time thing or not, this could be the best thing since the introduction of the PS Plus Games Library!!

    Nothing will change.
    They’ll just give a list full of popular crappy/indiecrap games to choose from. And then the same games that would have been offered without the voting will still be there, but now you will think you have “control and options” and that everyone is to blame because they chose the games you didn’t vote for.

    Think people complain about indies now? Wait until they have to choose between 3 of them. Some people are throwing out best selling AAA titles understanding they are joking. Others actually seem to think the vote is for whatever game they want.

    I think that at times the AAA title will be available but they will be lesser titles and/or something with a high amount of overpriced DLC.

    The potential is here for something good but I will reserve my praise until I see it in action as Sony’s decision making over the last year has been less than stellar…

    I would like to see the numbers of PLUS members who vote and the ones that don’t if it’s like a presidential Vote like 2012 over half would rather NOT vote. Shame on you people who stayed home you should have your PS4 taken away from you by the Government.
    Also I don’t think this is a good idea I see a lot of title that will get picked that I don’t like but then again I never argue about free games good or bad I just don’t play them so GO for it.
    The cloud save for PSplus need to be increased 1gb is not enough just saying!!!!

    lets have some good line ups because they have been very poor lately. last of us , tombraider , shadows of mordor, infamous s.s , bf4, something with some accual quality . because im not renewing my sub untill its worth it , so far its not .

    Based on past PS+ games, I wonder if this will be the plan for Vote to Play:

    1. There will still be two free games (or more, if the games are Cross-Buy) for PS4 each month.
    2. At least one of the games will be a big indie title that Sony will be promoting by having it free for the first month to PS+ subscribers (i.e. Rocket League, Resogun).
    3. The last game will be Vote to Play game that is determined by the gamers.

    I personally think it should of been like this since day one. I hope this feature comes to the PlayStation 3 since I don’t own a PlayStation 4 yet. I would like to suggest the ability to use money from your PSN wallet towards a brand new Sony Console. PSN cards were giving to me as a gift and I wish I could use them to buy a PlayStation 4. I would also like to suggest a 99 cent flash sale with Journey, Flower, and Cubixx HD.

    I like this enough to consider keeping my Sub going, I know it’s still not gonna be a triple A fest but even when I vote for a game and it fails to get the votes I’ll still be able to pick it up for a modest discount.

    Well how about a a ten to twenty percent discount on all purchases for pre-orders over 150 dollars. just to clarify i mean multiple preorders in your cart at the same time.

    I like the idea that Plus Members will get the opportunity to vote for games. However I don’t like the fact it is exclusive to only the PlayStation 4 system. I am not sure how many people have bought the PlayStation 4 but I sure haven’t and I doubt everyone who is on PlayStation Plus has gotten a PlayStation 4 yet.

    I will still be voting for the PlayStation 4 games and purchasing them through PlayStation Plus for when I do get a PlayStation 4. Just seems a waste that systems that have more people on them don’t get the option for this voting.

    Maybe down the line if the voting for PlayStation 4 Plus games is a success, they will add PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

    I think this is a really cool idea! Aside from increasing the chances of getting what I want, it also means now more people will be able to choose the game they can complain, grouse, and moan about in these comments, too! Everyone wins! Seriously, Sony; thanks for making the effort to try to please us, even when it prolly feels as if all you do is irritate the snot out of most folks. Just remember that for the most part, satisfied people don’t post; it’s the grouchy ones who do.

      That’s pretty much what i was saying with the vocal minority/silent majority thing above. The negative commentors here feel they have some sort of power when they say “I’m just letting my PS+ expire” ” or “Imma buy an Xbox instead”

      But really it’s just them out of 25 MILLION PS4 owners (just recently announced). And most of us are pretty damn smitten. People complain about having nothing to play, but my PS4 backlog is a mile long. If you like to play games of all sorts then you should be good to go on your PS4.

    This is an awesome idea. Honestly, I “purchase” everything even if I do not download it, just in case I want to play the game or try it later. I have owned some of the Disc based versions of some of the titles PS plus has given away and regret NOT downloading them, especially with PS4 not being backwards compatible. I will definitely vote! This would make my fiance who I live with motivated to want PS plus also.

    Okay not a playstation plus suggestion, but can we remaster some beloved games from the older console, my main example is Simpsons hit and run, wow what a game, imagine if this had like multiplayer or something I don’t really know how you would do it, but that game is my child hood in a nut shell… Also tell EA to hurry up with skate 4 already, I would never leave my room if skate 4 became a thing…
