  • Enjoy the show!

  • Ryan there a dude on psn trying to get people for cod beta codes for 40 dollars claiming it come with a full copy of the game. His psn name id fu744fu can you guys do something about him

  • Ryan… MAKE LOVE TO MY EARS!!!

  • O no Sid is gone again =(. Another great show guys and so excited for Until Dawn on PS4 next week!

  • It wasn’t just the swirl that was blue – the PAL Dreamcast came in white-and-blue packaging, and had distinct blue jewel cases which the game discs came in. (The cases opened on two sides, with enough room to fit manuals in various European languages.)

As it happened, the PAL DC even got Shenmue II, which (from what I gather) was never published on DC in North America. (The PAL DC version of the game had a Japanese voice track, as opposed to the English dub done for the original Shenmue on Dreamcast.)

STEINS;GATE is part of the “Science Adventure” series published by 5pb. and MAGES. in Japan. The other games in the series (such as CHAOS;HEAD, ROBOTICS;NOTES, CHAOS;CHILD, and the upcoming STEINS;GATE 0) all have semi-colons in the name.

As have the three “Re;Birth” games in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series (all three being Vita remakes of the first three PS3 games), which ironically have mascot “Maker” characters based on 5pb. and MAGES. respectively.

(As opposed to the “Mad Scientist” from STEINS;GATE, MAGES.-chan is the “Mad Magician”, who makes a point of clarifying that her name includes the dot!)

    • As for Dreamcast-themed mascots, this is Tennouboshi Uzume/Orange Heart, the DC stand-in from the Hyperdimension Neptunia series:

And this is Dreamcast-chan from the SeHa Girls – who starred in an anime recently hosted by Crunchyroll, and who will be included in an upcoming Neptunia/SeHa Girls crossover game on Vita in Japan:

Wouldn’t they both look cooler in blue?

Supposedly, the crossover game will involve time travel, with each era based on a certain Sega console, and with each “Planeptune” CPU paired off with/against their SeHa Girl counterpart. (So for example, the “Dreamcast” era would presumably include both Uzume and Dreamcast-chan.)

      So thorough :O

    • Perhaps you could ask your colleagues on the EU PlayStation.Blog to see if any of them have PAL Dreamcasts in their gaming collections. They might be able to give their own thoughts from the lands of blue-swirl-dom.

  • No, Steins;Gate is not the first game title to have a semicolon in its name.

AFAIK, that would be Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;birth1.

      Ah, of course! Good catch.

    • Actually, the first games in the “Science Adventure” series were published in Japan before Re;Biirth1 – indeed, before the original HDN game itself was published on PS3.

It has taken much longer for the likes of S;G to get brought over to the West in any official capacity, however.

  • I’m watching Justin get married so i can’t listen right now but you bet your dualshock 4 I’ll be listening by night’s end.

You need to clarify, bro! Married *in FFXIV* @_@

    • UGH! My bad… :(

see I was in the mindset I was talking to you guys, not your audience.

So sorry. I think I need to sleep more than I do. It’s making me… wacky.

    • Haha! I read jgrizzle’s comment before listening to the episode and didn’t make too much of it. Then, while I’m listening I hear Justin say “Tonight is my wedding…”

      and I’m like whaaaaaaa!?

      “… in Final Fantasy XIV”

      LOL

  • No Sid!?

  • Hey Guys,

I wanted to ask if you would make a “Official PlayStation Blogcast” App for the PS4, PS3, and Vita? It would be great to listen to you guys well we are playing.

    Thank you,

    Rob aka Graf

  • Why is there no cover in MGS V Digital game? I pre-ordered and when it appeared in my Library, it had no cover, but a gamepad symbol. Is that going to be fixed?

  • This is my favorite podcast! Keep it up, guys! :)

  • Dat Shuman Show poster! So funny! Thanks for another great episode and the great dry delivery of Nick Suttner just kills me. I hope to meet some of you at Playstation Experience!

  • Justin’s comments about playing a game with Sid had me laughing so hard. man down man down, down now, down now LOL

  • Great stuff.

  • Thanks for reading my comment guys! To help out it is L-BED-SKI haha but just Luke for short! Thanks for sharing Sid’s can goods!

  • Here’s my feedback for you guys..
I believe the episode in which someone called Justin “Tom Gilmore” was my third or fourth and, even though I didn’t really know your names yet, I remember thinking: Tom Gilmore? That can’t be right.. haha, really glad the joke is still alive.

I enjoy the news, the interviews, releases, of course; but my favourite part by far is when the show goes off the rails and Sid and Nick start talking about recipes and grocery lists. Funniest thing and also very informative for a young guy living alone! The Movie Corner is also greatly appreciated. Keep it up!

  • Another great show. Great title this week, funny moment for sure. I also enjoyed the wedding talk. As much as the other half of the gang tries to dissuade you guys from talking about it, I really enjoy the FF XIV talk, and this is coming from someone that doesn’t play the game. Have a good week guys!

  • Great show
