Risen 3: Titan Lords — Enhanced Edition Hits PS4 Tomorrow

After releasing Risen 3: Titan Lords on PS3 last year, we were eager to take the opportunity to also bring the game to RPG fans on PS4. It’s actually the first time we’ve done in-house PS4 development, and as such we were really pushing to further improve and optimize the graphics of the game by taking advantage of the power PS4 provides.

Risen 3: Titan Lords — Enhanced Edition Hits PS4 Tomorrow

Our first objective was improving texture resolution for items, objects, foliage, terrain, particle effects, characters, monsters, and other in-game models and integrating them into the game in a higher quality than before. As such, our PS4 version actually features better textures and improved viewing ranges than we were able to provide on the “Ultra” settings with the 32-bit PC version.

Thanks to the 64-bit architecture and the larger memory, we were also able to drastically reduce loading times. We’ve also been able to introduce new, state-of-the-art, post-process effects such as bokeh depth of field and HDR bloom, as well as enabling a new physically based, more visually-realistic cloud rendering technique that adds even more spectacular skies and sunsets to the dynamic day-night cycles. The PS4 features like remote play, streaming, recording, and share play are also of course supported.

Risen 3: Titan Lords — Enhanced Edition also includes all updates as well as all additional content released to date, including the Adventure Garb, Fog Island, and Uprising of the Little Guys DLCs. This adds two additional islands to the main game together with new monsters, landscapes, and items. Each of these islands also brings its own storyline with new characters and quests.

And for our experienced players and Risen veterans, we’re also pleased to announce the introduction of an all-new “ultra” difficulty level, featuring even more difficult opponents as well as changes in the gameplay such as introducing additional vulnerability during evasive maneuvers or adding a cooldown on potions — we’re can’t wait to see how our fans Rise to this particular challenge!

Have fun!

  • Same price as ps3 version?

  • Another re-skinned game?

  • Download only, or will there be a disc version? Thanks!

  • I wish there was some local multiplayer, even online if there had to be, but I’d prefer local. Looks fun with a couch buddy/girlfriend.

  • Having played the PC version, I can say that Risen 3: Titan Lords is a fun RPG. It’s different kind of RPG than, say, DA:I, but it’s a fun diversion to play, which is what every good game should be. I thought it looked great in the Ultra settings on PC, so I can’t wait to play it on my PS4, which they promised will look even better. The screenshots definitely stand out as superior to PC.

I am not a big fan of ports in general, but this one does have me excited. The developers seem to have gone the extra mile to make the PS4 version uniquely better. Also, it will be nice to have a game that actually does use your PS4’s horsepower. I can’t be the only one who is sick of the retro (that is extremely low budget) games proliferating these days. Keep mobile games where they belong lol. Thankfully in the shortage of stellar titles, Risen 3: Titan Lords has found its way to being a PS4 exclusive. Lastly, it’s just comforting knowing when you purchase Risen 3, you get all the DLC included. So it’s a one-time buy that doesn’t come back and try to snag a few extra dollars (or more) from your wallet.

  • Never heard of this before, and the trailer showed no gameplay so I will soon be forgetting.

  • I’ll probably pick it up to support Piranha Bytes efforts.

In my opinion, their RPGs are quirky and fun!

  • I really enjoyed Risen 2 and bought Risen 3 and all DLC on PS3. I stopped playing when I found out this was coming out. Can’t wait to play again. The PS3 graphics were pretty muddy, but after watching Twitch the last couple of days, it looks to be much improved.

  • I was interested until I read digital only. Back to waiting for ELEX.

  • Dear Deep Silver: Vita does not have any open world games. Saints Row would be perfect for it (even a port of an older Saints Row game). Your competitor did not release a GTA; there is no open world games on Vita. Saints Row is (rightfully so) popular on its own. There is a void of no open world games on Vita; I think that you would sell numerous copies of a great game series called Saints Row. So, what do you say?

  • Sadly enough, Steam just had a sale on both Risen 1 & 2.
( Which is nothing special, and a lesser quality game )

Much like Payday 1 & 2 right now (better), which is a better offer than anything Sony has had going for some time now.

An android bundle for Humble Bundle to put your Vita stuff to shame.
Neverending Nightmares, Crimsonland, and Several Others for under $3. Cross Buy enabled too.

And best of all, no Playstation Exclusives, that I can’t change systems with..
    Get with it Sony.

*Feel free to friend invite me on Steam*

    • And what does this precisely have to do with the article written? Deep Silver has absolutely no control over what Sony does for sales, nor does Steam have anything to do with anything they said in this article.

If you’re not a fan of Sony’s business practices or sales, might I suggest a better job or at the very least contacting Sony directly? Your money troubles are not anyone’s concern, nor do most people care. Just like if I told you I had a few thousand in the bank isn’t going to change your life or something.

As for your next post..again, what part of Deep Silver are you not understanding? They can’t decide to order Sony to release $2 games on a platform they have no control over. Not to mention the Vita is a very dead market compared to quite literally any of the consoles being used right now. The Vita, while decent as a handheld, doesn’t have enough of a fanbase to convince most companies to bother with the paperwork.

  • BTW

Why hasn’t Shadowrun which goes for $1.99 on Google Play not been brought over to Vita?

Oh wait, that’s right, you don’t know why you choose to ignore such potential in favor of bigger schemes.

  • This is not out yet, whats the problem??

  • I’m also wondering when it’ll show up in the PS store, because I’ve been waiting for this for quite a while.

    • My guess is that we’re not going to see a very definitive announcement for the release. Games don’t tend to come out on Fridays at all, so they are going to have to essentially sneak the game in at some point today. I’m hoping they make a blog post about the actual release so we know, but otherwise its just a gamble as to when you log in and check versus when the game is actually in the store.

  • is this game any fun never played Risen 3 befor and will they be on disk

  • so is this edition a complete redo of risen. new area, new characters, not floppy combat. no? then WHAT IS THE POINT!? you can polish a turd and paint it red, white and blue, but you and i both know it’s STILL A TURD.
