  • Enjoy the Drop! Happy Sunday.

    • hey, just wanted to “praise” you guys^^ the layout of the drop is now near-perfect in my opinion :)

    • Thanks American, it’s all because of my friend Justin’s layout skills! ;)

    • How’s it going Ryan? Any news on the Rogue Galaxy and Dark Cloud HD remasters?

    • Cool. You are still releasing PS1 classics.
I would like it if they would be compatible with the PS4.
It is the 20 year anniversary after all.
      Xbox is bringing backwards compatibility.
So why not bring emulators as well for classics?
If the PS3 can’t be done that is fine, at least the PS1 and PS2.

    • Can your web design team make it so images or titles of the games link to the PS Store, the developer’s pages or some sort of preview?

I am often curious about a game after looking at the screenshots or logos in the drop, but clicking those items takes me to a flickr gallery and nothing useful.

  • Hello, Ryan. No Vita love this week?

  • hi Ryan, i am getting one game this week is NHL 16 for ps4.. next week gonna be huge : Fifa 16, Soma, NBA 2k16 are day one for me. PES 2016 is alright but won’t buy it..

  • I want more classics.
    PS2 Classics Wish List:
    – Silent Hill 2/3/The Room/Origins (i don’t like HD remasters)
    – Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria
    – Xenosaga 1/2/3

    • I second the request for bringing the Xenosaga trilogy to the PSN, though I wouldn’t mind them being HD Remasters instead of PS2 classics though.

    • Why don’t contact the actual property owners, instead of making a post on a blog to a person/company that has no control over said titles?

      Silent Hill – Konami.
      Valkyrie Profile – Square Enix
      Xenosaga – Bandai Namco.

    • Maybe since Sony should step up their AAA game, instead of trying to charge a premium for 3rd party game developer’s titles, or having customers drive up their own price-point.

Steam had you beat again this week, and rebuying some PS3 titles I already own. (which doesn’t = real money, and already HD remastered)
Or checking out Indies like Lily looking through, for less than a buck.
Saints Row Weekend till tomorrow, and SR4 is already less than your PSN.

Guess it’s back to watching the timers on the Humble Bundles, and possibly check Invokers to see if the Vita is worth even looking into anymore.

      <There goes Plus

    • I’ve heard the HD collection of Silent Hill is pretty iffy so I would prefer a PS2 classic version of 2 and 3 as well.

    • Wrong, they patched the Silent Hill HD collection over a year ago. Works just like the original, only has graphics equivalent to its PC counterpart.

      Just an FYI.

  • Nothing this week, since tgs is this week will there be a tgs themed sale? Plenty of games I want but only if they’re on sale

  • Would love a PSOne Classic of Chocobo Racing. Beyond!

  • Will Flame Over be Cross-Buy?

  • No NHL demo this year?

  • Poor Vita. Hopefully TGS is kinder to the handheld. =/

    • Will you quit being a self entitled gamer and accept that you won’t get anything big on the ps vita, move on to the Nintendo 3DS and begging Sony to change their minds since you as a consumer do not care about supporting the first party titles that you never cared about the first these titles came out to.be.

In other words I blame you as a consumer for being self entitled when it really works both ways and you always cannot believe it is the other way around. You are setting yourself up for disappointment so go move on to the 3DS like I mention and see you complain
about the 3DS since you are obsessing about the.vita itself. Whining will not help Sony make money and care about you since you probably are insatiable and daft that Sony made it clear it wasn’t going to make anything big on the Vita. If you cannot accept that then I suggest you stick to PS4 or 3DS since you care.about sales way too much to let your obtuse expectations about this system
succeed in the first place when cconsumers nowadays just do not have the same experiences you do unless you want to keep whining on the blog to get what you cannot have. :/

    • I wasn’t trying to offend you or anything but I seen you complaining on other blog articles on sites like this and expect Sony to fully support this but you keep repeating yourself like those others that did the same thing at the year end of 2012. Unless you want to be like those people, you have to accept that their expectations are too high like yours like Sony will cooperate with you fans.

I bet you corporations that are like this do not give a effing care what you have to say. These people aren’t interested in your honest feedbacks. It has always been about business and business alone. It has been so since the year 2000. This is a different generation that has evolved since PSOne, Nintendo 64 days. I do not understand how Sega’s platform manage to make software only than being console focused, but you get the point.

    • @madmanwithabox12, I just received my package with Danganronpa: Another Episode Ultra Despair Girls and Ar No Surge Plus, I’m planning to spend lots of hours with my PS Vita…

    • @EnobmahChoas holy crap you’ve got a bad attitude, and an entirely incomprehensible username. See, I didn’t fall into the trap of buying the Vita and hoping it would do well, I did my research, saw the writing on the wall, and put as much faith into the Vita as Sony did (meaning I didn’t buy one). I did this because it was clear from the outset that not only was it not going to get the games I wanted to play, it wasn’t going to be a replacement for my PSP. Why would I carry two portable machines around that *technically* could play the same library of games but *practically* can’t? Before you say “bug the publishers to put their PSP games on the Vita store” that was really Sony’s job, and Sony can’t be bothered to get it done.

Oh wait, Hambone Chaos! I get it now! No wait, no I don’t. Good luck on your future endeavors.

    • Hambone, you just got served. Yeah, it’s completely my fault with a Vita Library of 40+ games and copies of Uncharted, Borderlands 2, Gravity rush, and Tearaway…completely my fault Sony screwed the pooch with the Vita.

    • I think I got febwtf and mongoose butthurt by my comment and does not understand sarcasm. Sad that you defend this guy like a white knight. ;)

    • zebftw, take your own advice even if it hasn’t been been for vita. Wow nice overdone comeback, for a amateur. :D

    • While I leave you two to feed me even more on the subject. My work here is done and pretty much good at 2 on 1 attempts which makes you as sad as defending a self entitled madmaninabox desperately like you a thirsty for that whine. :)

      Top kek ;)

    • Feel free to follow in his footsteps as a self entitled gamer. So sorry if that applies to you guys as well. ;D

  • My pick for this week..
    Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight
Yep… It is finally releasing…and it is F2P…
    Invokers Tournament is solid also.

  • This year like every year I’m not buying EA’s NHL game , I’m lying to myself of coarse I’ll probably be playing it the night of the 16th at the latest but I really wouldn’t mind it if Sony’s San Diego studio would take another shot at a hockey game good or bad just give EA some competition.

  • Jak 5!
    Per lease!

  • Why is the frozen game not on vita? Come on.
Wish psone classics were playable on ps4

    • Cellphone games are why we paid 400 for the most powerful console, incidentally you can play Ps1 games and probably this Frozen game on just about any smartphone.

  • New ps1 games
    all my yes

  • The Disgaea collection. Thats going to be a lot of Dood hours

    • Yeah I wish they would port it to PC. My friends Love SRPG’s, would be great to have on PC some day like Hyperdimension Neptunia. I bought a PS4 when Disgaea 5 was announced for it.

  • I’m intrigued by Kitten Squad and Overruled!, so I hope we hear more about those this week. Might even be interested in Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight if its multiplayer is anything like Puzzle Fighter (ex: sending down blocks on your opponent when you make a match). Otherwise I may have to LET IT GO ;-)

Since there’s a few PSone classics here, might as well put my suggestions in for Tekken 3, Bushido Blade 1 & 2 and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. All of which would make excellent games for local play on my PSTV :-)

    • I was going to suggest buying Capcom Puzzle World, but it looks like it’s not playable on Vita. It’s shocking how still, almost four years from release, Vita is not a slam-dunk upgrade from the PSP.

  • no digital for the disgaea collection?

  • I think I might pick Invokers Tournament for PS Vita and perhaps the PS One Classics.

  • hey Mr. Clements you think you can pass on a message to the people who work on the Spotify App for me? tell them to put a patch out there’s so many problems with the App its unbelievable, I lost count of how many times the app has skipped songs in my playlist and just plain stopped playing at times

    thanks,

    Lucius_13

  • What a slow month, The Fallout 4 anticipation is killing me.

  • Nothing for *me* this week, but no complaints – PlayStation has been great to me (and murder on my bank account) the last couple months. :P Happy to get a week off. Lol

  • With respect to the various titles listed above, I’d argue that the biggest “drop” this coming week will take place over at the 2015 Tokyo Game Show – as noted on the very PlayStation-heavy list of known games and events already lined up:

    http://gematsu.com/2015/09/tokyo-game-show-2015-live-stream-schedule

Which still leaves room for plenty of new announcements to emerge, of course.

  • Who can I contact for Media Registration for the Playstation Experience in San Francisco? Thanks!

  • I just have to say Solomon’s Key is so good. Such a fun game, Cool that it’s coming to PS4.

  • finally ps1 classics but what about ps2 classics

  • Where the REAL ps1 classics? Still waiting on these gems:

    Saga frontier 1 and 2
    Vandal hearts 2 and 2
    Megaman legends 1 and 2
    Jade cocoon
    Einhander
    Diablo
    Die hard trilogy
    Valkyrie profile

There are so many more great ps1 RPG titles.

    • Meant vandal hearts 1 and 2, not 2 and 2.

    • I think (with some of them) they must keep them on hold to release during lull points, when not many new games are coming out. Plus to stretch out the library over the years. That’s the only thing I can figure.

    • Would love to play MegaMan Legends PS1 classic too, even if it’s only on PS3/Vita.

    • Einhander is on the JP PSN, and it’s recommended because the entire game is in English with Japanese subtitles. It’s not hard to sign up for a JP PSN account and it’s easy to buy JP PSN cards. Of course, you’re screwed if you want to play it on your Vita, because Sony made it difficult to switch accounts on that machine, but if you have a PS3 I don’t see why you wouldn’t go get it from Japan.

    • Like many a Capcom game, the MML games have a complicated property rights issues that prevent it from happening.

  • Just logged on to say how awesome the layout is. Please keep this one.

  • I’ve been waiting for Solomon’s Key! Keep cranking’ em out HAMSTER

  • No magic duels origins! yet love how games get stuck in the tape on the psn.

  • NHL 16 pre-ordered and pre-downloaded. All we need now is nhl avatars to show our support for our teams!!

  • Why is there still no Magic Duels Origins on this last???!!!

    • Cuz there has been NO SET DATE FOR PS4. Only thing thats been said was “sometime near end of 2015”. Yall should do some googling

  • Between the few AAA titles, there’s the usual weeds for PS4. And by weeds, I mean the annoying number of titles that seem better suited to a smartphone as someone else above noted. I don’t want to play a smartphone game on my PS4. I have no interest in not-so-new PC games making their way to PS4. With even the long (and mostly exclusive) PS Tales franchise coming to PC, I am liking my PS4 less and less. But I am sticking with my preorder of Tales of Zestiria for my PS4…for the time-being. It’s just a very disappointing time for PS4 gamers. This rant is of course not directed at our blogger who has to endure a lot of unfair gripe. But if it’s passed along the chain, maybe somebody will realize that just because you can sell it doesn’t mean you should. I can’t be the only one who is being turned off by all these titles with retro graphics and retro gameplay. To me graphics alone don’t make a great game. My best gaming experience of late has been P4 Golden on my PSTV: graphics are nothing to write home about, but the story and gameplay are 1000x better than all these shallow indie games.

    • A more important takeaway is this:

Just because you, or I, may not like a game… does not mean there is not a market for it. Some people just WANT shallow, fun gaming experiences. There’s a reason the Persona series, amazing though it is, has never broken through to mainstream: it’s appeal is limited. I loved P4G, but my brother would HATE it. I have no interest in Destiny, but I’m pretty sure my brother would enjoy it.

Stop ranting about games you don’t like getting released. They’re being aimed at people who aren’t you. Just accept it and move on.

    • The even more important takeaway point is that while people like shallow, fun games, why would they pay $10+ on a PS3/4/V when they can pay $1-2 for the same game on mobile. I understand, and enjoy, many app games but Sony’s prices for said games are unreasonable when I can get them for less than half the price on iOS or another platform. Charge me $10+ for a game, make it worth my money.

  • Is the disgaea collection coming to ps4?

  • Invokers is definately a step in the right direction.

Still think the Vita deserves better, but getting closer to something that is already out there.

Had Freedom Wars had the online, and a few better modifications, it could have been very lasting.

  • I’ll be picking up Triple Play Collection for sure. I just got into Disgaea and I powered through the first 2 games in preparation for this.

  • Why can’t Disgaea triple play come to PS4 – Can’t wait til Oct 6 to get my fix (Disgaea 5 FTW) ! !

  • Is that Bomberman ?

  • The Disgaea Triple Play Collection would’ve been great if it included the enhanced rereleases like the Vita versions. If you own A Vita you’re better off getting 3 and 4 on there and getting D2 separately.

    • I know right!!! for me the ps 3 port are the inferiors one since there is a vita enhanced port… I wonder if they are going to make a d2 enhanced port on vita? I sold my copy of disgaea 3 on ps 3 and went for the enhanced version…i really hate that when it happens…

    • Disgaea D2 has no plans for a port and Disgaea 5 can’t run on the Vita. But the Season pass for Disgaea 5 is $40 equivalent in Japan, so I suspect $39.99 when it comes out. $90 for the whole game, or $110 of you bought CE.

  • The Disgaea Triple Play Collection? Oh my god, if I buy this and start playing, I will not be able to stop.

  • Still waiting for Magic Duels Origins and Onigiri on PS4, But is a ok drop. Would be nice had Disgaea Triple Collection on PS4.

    • still waiting for you to understand that there has been NO set release date for PS4. The most thats been said about it is “sometime near the end of 2015”.

    • Onigiri has been confirmed to mid september by developers but no words yet at psn blog and about Magic, we are waiting a release date info, ofc we know that wont be released next week but we want ETA for it… All we have until now is that will be released this year and people want more info about it.

    • Oh yes, Magic developers said in July something later in 2015, not something near the end 2015.

    • that was for XBOX. Playstation they never gave a release date for. I’ve been keeping up on it. Xbox was supposed to get it in July but didnt get it till Aug i believe. PS4 still has never been giving any kind of date. If you wanna blame someone its Wizards of the Coast you need to complain too. Sony cant do nothing as its not their game.

  • @GoPens35 It’s all about the games my friend, not all of us have the time to play AAA titles. One console, One library.
    Btw Go Leafs Go!!!!

    • Not sure I get the argument as far as the people who I work for know I spend 48+ hours in a typical work week away from my console my cellphone is always in my pocket when I’m not on it, I can play those games whenever I didn’t buy a state of the art dedicated games console for casual games. By the way be nice to Dion he’s a good guy and thanks for Phil he’s gonna light you guys up.

  • Pretty dry week. Well, fortunately I still have a ton of older games to play lol

  • No preload for the taken king Ryan love the drop

  • Aww man… kinda wish the Disgaea triple play collection was available on ps4. Makes me miss my PS3 now :c

  • Nothing on my radar this week. But that’s okay, I have plenty of backlog games to keep me busy on my PS4.

  • Bought NHL 15 day one last year. Biggest mistake I made in 2014!! I’m going to wait for reviews and real gameplay footage before I even consider buying NHL 16. EA Sports is in real need of competition so they can step up their game again and stop dishing out mediocre sports franchises every year.

  • Sports games? Go outside boys and play a real game in the fresh air! Frozen? WTF? Sorry, but yeah and that Kitty game? I won’t ever know if the gameplay is nice bc although I LOVE cats, I’m not about to pick up a game about them! My point? Where’s my Fallout 4?? I’m b*tc*y today, sorry ya! I want my MTV

  • Can’t wait for Destiny: TTK.

  • Bombing Busters looks interesting. Might pick that up after I see some gameplay/reviews. Other than that, not interested in much but I know a lot people looking for Destiny! Have fun! :D

  • Can…. Can we just make Crash bandicoot and Spyro available for US vita owners already? Because seriously: the only game on this list that remotely interests me is the invokes game. Stop screwing us US fans over and give us the PSOne games we want already.
