  • Awesome list, really happy to be subscribed!

    • Glad to hear it, WFMMK! Which games are you looking forward to playing most?

    • I would like to see final fantasy 12 as well as ps2 titles like final fantasy 7 dirge of Cerberus or even ps1 games like breath of fire3 if I am going to pay so much to stream games then why not put some newer games like mortal kombat X blacks ops 3 fallout 4 the Witcher 3 even if it is just to stream 1-3 new big name games a month would be awesome could even help on game sales because if they like playing the game they streamed they have to buy it to be able to experience it again alot of people like to know what they are buying letting them stream a full game say a streaming pass 3 days black ops 3 after that they can’t stream it unless they buy it would be good for sales and would make alot of us happy

  • Holy crap, that’s a huge list! This update includes some of my favorite PS3 games, so this is sure to make PlayStation Now more appealing.

For me, what would make the service something I’d buy into are “permanent” rentals that let you select games you can stream with no limit, and to be able to do so on games I’ve already purchased before.

  • I like the variety just wish there was a way to actually purchase certain games and own the digital rights instead of rentals

    • Some argue that digital purchases are rentals anyway.

PS Now is expensive to have up and running. You can’t just expect someone to pay $5 to own a game and then play it for all of eternity off of the $5.

P.S. Now is more directed to someone who has a Bravia T.V. and wants to play a game every once in a while without buying a console and having it set up. It’s meant for a kid whose parents won’t buy them a multi hundred dollar console, but manages to get enough money for a Vita TV (Best Buy has them fairly cheap) and subscribes himself to the service. (though needing a credit card would hamper that even though you can pay for the service with PSN cards a credit card has to be on file I think)

If I was a kid I would have definitely subscribed to PS Plus. Why pay $100 to play 3 games when I could have spent $15 a month to play hundreds?

Between unfair bandwidth caps, low consumer awareness, not enough ubiquity, the need for a $50-60 controller, and lack of word of mouth Now won’t enrich or reach as many people as it could or probably should.

  • Wow, that’s really impressive. I recently finished a playthrough of the Infamous games on Now, so I guess I have a lot of options for a followup.

    Great work, guys!

  • Great list! :) I would still like to see the price changed even if its just down by $10. Would be great if it was free for plus members though at least for a month.

Also i don’t know were to send this as feedback for PS vita so sorry if this isn’t the place. But i would like to see Kingdom Hearts HD 1 & 2, Crash Bandicoot(either PS1 classics or HD with trophies) and burnout paradise single player edition come to PS Vita please :)

  • Is this EU as well I live in UK

  • If you make PlayStation now available for Android smartphone and tablets then you got me subscribed

  • Nice some RPGs, more of these on PS NOW!

  • Outstanding list! O_O … I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I *LOVE* PLAYSTATION NOW!!

I’m battling my way through Bloodborne currently, but I’ll be jumping into Mass Effect 2 via PS Now as soon as I’m done! I’m really looking forward to the adventure (it will be my first playthrough). My fingers are crossed for Mass Effect 3, but until then, there are a number of titles that I’m really looking forward to playing including Catherine, Ratchet & Clank: Into The Nexus, Shadow of The Colossus, etc, etc!

  • And still no Mass Effect :(

Really wish they’d just do the collection, but they won’t (-_- )

    • Let’s not fool ourselves here… They’re doing a terrible job with the service. Why? Let’s consider just ONE of the upcoming game releases that has a s-ton of hype behind it.. FALLOUT 4. Where are Fallout 3 and New Vegas on PS Now?!? There are so many people that would have either subscribed to Now to play JUST THOSE TWO GAMES (partially because those games take a considerable amount of time to play,) and yet they’re nowhere to be found. SONY SHOULD BE DOING EVERYTHING IN ITS POWER TO BRING THESE GAMES TO ITS SERVICE IF IT WANTS NOW TO SUCCEED. It’s probably too late now considering how we’re a mere week away from Fallout 4’s release, but the damage is done – there have been TWO sales on the Fallout series on Steam, and there’s nothing to be shown from Sony.

Next up: Just Cause 2, Sony. It’s one of the funnest sandbox shooters out there, now don’t disappoint. You can probably hold off on putting up the Mass Effect games until the latest installment is given a solid release date.

    • Since Fallout 3 runs like utter garbage on the PS3, I’m sure we’ll not see that on Now

    • warezlbanez from what I understand the fallout games on console are a buggy mess. Heck the PC games I hear are a buggy mess. People love them, play the heck out of them, but that’s with all the caveats of how buggy of a mess they are.

You can get those games on Amazon for about the price of a month or 2 of PS Now, I’m not sure how many people would actually subscribe to the service to play those. Could be many, could be a few, but I have a hunch that PS Now is best for playing a lot of games you normally couldn’t get, and not just 1 or 2 that you could have just bought instead.

  • PlayStation, you’re leaving money on the table not having PS1 and PS2 games on PlayStation Now. I know I would personally be handing over my paychecks in droves just to play some of those old games on my PS4.

    • PS1 and PS2 game are coming to the PS4 sometime in the near future. If not at PSX — You’ll see it by firmware 3.5.

As for adding the titles to PS Now, my guess is that they are building up the ability to stream PS4 games first — and then when the emulator for PS4 is working, they’ll start adding PS1/PS2 titles.

  • I enjoyed my demo experience with PSNow, and the line-up just keeps getting better. I do wish it was $15 a month regularly, $10 a month if you buy 3, 6 or 12 months.

    • Hi samv33 – glad you enjoyed the free trial. We do offer a 3-Month Subscription option for 44.99 (effectively $15 per month).

  • Finally, this could make me subscribe. But I do agree with a discount to PS Plus members, I might even resubscribe to that too.
Another thing to think about, since a good majority do not like the Instant Game Collection, get rid of it and add a bigger discount to PS Now. Or make it an option for PS Plus members.

    • “a good majority do not like the Instant Game Collection”

I would certainly not say that’s true! I’m happy to try out some new games every month, and usually there’s one or two that’s quite good (like First Light).

I think the people on this blog are more of a vocal minority.

    • I remember I used to believe that all Sony had to do was launch a handheld with 2 thumb sticks and they would sell more of those than the PSP, because all everyone complained about was the lack of a second thumb stick. Vita comes out, looks great, works great, sticks are better than the PSP, no one buys it really. Why?

They weren’t upset consumers with a great idea…. they were trolls that found something they could complain about.

Don’t confuse the vocal minority with the silent majority that are too busy playing their free games, to give a crap about what random idiots who want 50 million dollar budget games for free have to say on a blog post. There was a guy complaining that Walking Dead Season 2 was free even though Season 1 was on sale for $8.

Negative comments get more buzz than positive ones.

I don’t view your comment as negative per say. Of course the reason I do reply to people who are trolling, is because if you don’t make an example out of the stupid stuff they say, it goes unchallenged and people assume it’s legitimate as a point.

  • Think I’ll give this a run on my Vita.

    • That is a lot of content especially Resident Evil 6 streaming to PS Vita. :-)

    • Thanks TomatoDragon! Vita is a great way to play games on PlayStation Now. You can also play on a PS4 and PS3 (was well as other devices) with the same subscription (when your Vita needs a recharge).

    • I think it’s definitely worth it on the Vita. The only PS system I have right now is a Vita (and PS2) so it’s an amazing way to add more use out of the system. I’m really trying to save up for a PS4, but the life as a college student is hard. (Just make sure you have a pretty decent internet connection, I think I have a good one, but there are certain places in my house where it consistently disconnects. Still love it though.)

  • Still waiting for use this. Please, allow Brazil to use PSNow!

  • very sad that I cant play ps1 or ps2 games on ps4
I want retro comp at least for these consoles, but no. Sony would never give us this because they have the number one console..
hope xbox sells better to make sony change this move.

    • It’s irritating to see how arrogant Sony has gotten again, that’s for certain. Check your egos, Sony!

    • The Xbox ONe doesn’t have backwards compatibility. It has licensing to redownload games you already owned on the previous system.

Which granted isn’t that bad, HOWEVER Xbox 360 had PC architecture, Xbox One has PC architecture, PS4 has PC architecture, PS3 had…. PowerPC architecture. It’s not easy to get the games ported.

Moreover… there’s still the licensing issues. It might not be cost effective to just license every PS1 game they can and hope that people care. I think the reason that they don’t do PS1 and 2 on PS Now has to do with the fact that when you used a PS1/2, you got disconnected from the network. They don’t have network functionality working with those old games. I don’t know if the emulation is recourse intensive, or uses no resources hardly at all. Depends on how it emulates hardware/software wise.

Or maybe because of how the emulators work and how they don’t allow you to connect online, the server would just disconnect you if you used a PS2/1 game and they have to rewrap everything in a new emulator.

      There’s just too many unknowns.

  • Ctr+F : Catherine , Okami HD
    .. Not found =(

  • Any chance we will get some DBZ games on this list soon? I am thinking specifically Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai: Another Road which was pulled from the store a while ago sadly. I would love to get this game on my vita through PS Now.

  • They can add the entire PS3 catalog and that still won’t make me a subscriber. I still have me PS3 and I have a backlog of games. Why would I want to pay an outrageous fee every month with my backlog of games? The thing that really pisses me off is that the Xbox One is adding backward compatibility. The trouble is that we will never get that because of this PlayStation Now garbage. People need to stop subscribing. If we can’t get backward compatibility, then at least we can put a dent in Sony’s bottom line.

    • No offense – but you should think before you speak/type. You sound ignorant when you go rage without understanding the facts. PS3 CANNOT be emulated on PS4. The architecture is drastically too different for a brute force emulator to work. Sony conceded that the cell processor was a lost cause and migrated to a simplified x86. The 360 was using a PowerPC which is somewhat close to the XB1’s now x86 architecture.

    • Haha…this guy. What a sad, sad life you must live. ME! ME! ME! WAAAHH!!!

    • PS3 had a notoriously difficult-to-develop-for processor. PS Now uses the original hardware (basically a massive farm of PS3s playing and streaming the games). So backwards compatibility is not a flick-of-the-wrist thing.

Also, only a tiny handful of games are available with Xbox backwards compatibility and it’s not clear if every title will be available.

    • @Sabvre Uh… You do know that the CBE *did* use the PowerPC processor architecture, right? Now, I’m not saying that an emulator is incredibly easy to create, it’s not, and even if it were to happen there are certainly going to be games that will have issues probably due to memory addressing or any other of things. But it’s far from impossible. PS2 and PS1 Emulation is certainly within the realm of possibility, and the lack of CD functionality still is a huge no-no.

    • warezIbanez Why the heck do you need to pop CDs in?

Isn’t putting a USB drive filled with 1000s of CDs more desireable than popping a CD in your drive?

On top of that the PS3 disconnects from the PSN when ever a PS3 boots up a PS2 or PS1 game so if Sabvre is correct and they are using a bunch of PS3s as servers, you’d rent a game, boot it up, get disconnected, and then call Sony care to get your money back for your subscription.

Which means they have to rewrite the emulation wrapper and redesign all of that.

      Duke301

$15-20 dollars a month is outrageous for access to hundreds of games?

Really? It would cost you more than that to play more than 3 different games a month short of amazing random flash sales.

  • Always happy to see more games added, but please add more first party titles. Specifically waiting for SOCOM 4 and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. Keep up the great work!

  • Amazing, that is an incredible list of games. It’s so great to know a lot of my favorites are available if I ever feel the need to play them. Thanks Sony!

    • Thanks CrusadeForever! Glad to hear that some of these are among your favorites. We’ve got 250+ games here waiting for you when you want or need to play them!

  • @Duke, I really don’t like your opinion as Sony has done amazing effort to make the PS Now a viable experience! I for one like it and the new offering is nothing short of amazing. Plus few people even use backwards compatibility and is a waste of the company’s time and resources. You really think all those X1 fans will be playing BC games on Nov 12th when they have CODB3 and Fallout 4 so please just stop! Sony is pushing forward towards the future and creating new gameplay experiences not back-paddling lol.

    • Xbox One doesn’t have backwards compatibility.

What they have is an anti-piracy scheme where you put in your old game, it downloads you a digital copy of that game, and then you play it digitally.

Backwards compatibility is only backwards compatibility if it doesn’t require an internet connection IMO.

Microsoft only does that so idiots would go “Oh the Xbox One has backwards compatibility and the PS4 doesn’t, therefor I’m gonna buy an Xbox One”

Which is the dumbest scheme I’ve ever heard of, because it ONLY prevents Microsoft’s flock from migrating to the PS4. Which they needed, desperately, because Sony is getting tons of PS4 adopters that never had a PS3 and Microsoft needed to stop the bleeding.

  • Still no Demon’s Souls…

  • Wow now this is great news. As soon as i can i will join ps now. I cant wait to play so many games i wasn’t able to before! Thank you Sony!

    • Thanks I-smily-I — Hope to see you on the service soon. Don’t forget to try the free trial if you haven’t already.

  • id like to see yakuza 5 on ps now !!
there is alot of people waiting for the game on ps4

  • Please bring Yakuza 5 to ps now, lots of people traded their ps3 for ps4 and wanna play this awesome series. Please, onegaishimasu, s’il vous plait, رجاءا. And please in all languages of the world haha

  • Holy s*** thats amazing,I don’t use PSNow but I’m always glad to see the service grow bigger and better. And this time you guys went overboard I mean this is awesome.105 games?…thats almost unbelievable. And there are a bunch of great games there.BTW I bought almost all of those SNK games in the recent sales and besides KoF which I already was a major fan of it,there are some pretty good and fun games there too…so I recommend them.

    Anyway amazing job PSNow team..

    • Thanks Welmosca – appreciate the kind words. We’re truly excited to be able to bring so many great games from publishers, especially Capcom and SNK to the subscription service. We have some serious NEOGEO fans in the office, with a stack of cartridges!

  • I’m not a subscriber, but this is pretty awesome. Some great games there.

    • Thanks PanTheMan16 – thanks for tuning in. We add new games every month, so hope you’ll continue to check out our blogposts.

  • So if I sub, there’s a catalog of 250 games for me to play just like that, or these are just games I can rent for and additional fee??

  • I Like this format better were you add tons of games every few months than add 5 or 6 games mothly

  • Awesome list, guys! Thanks for listening to the fans =D

  • Wow. You guys definitely get an A+ for effort on getting so many games on PS Now, a service that has not gotten an update in months.

However, there is literally not a single game I would play, and I’m by no means a picky person. These are all very Eastern titles, obscure and particular titles. It’s like you managed to sift through the island of misfit games and now have a subscription service inundated with games nobody in their right mind would play considering what else is out there.

I know your hearts are in the right place, but its not working out. Take the $400m loss and move on. Clearly the publishers aren’t willing to cooperate on making their AAA games Now-worthy. I’m sorry.

    • How is the Resident Evil or Street Fighter series “Eastern” or “obscure” or “misfit”?

    • Congradulations…

You win on the most narrowminded post I’ve seen on this whole blog post!

Yeah companies aren’t as likely to have people pay quarters to access games that cost them 20-50 million to produce (and don’t have access to the DLC as a purchase option) when they can probably make more money off of 1 person buying a game used and buying all the DLC, than they would having a couple hundred people streaming it on PS Now.

A lot of those AAA games were poorly optimized and don’t run very well anyway. So between lag and hiccups from poor optimization… might be a terrible experience.

  • This pleases me.

  • Inevitably to sound ostentatious, but the only reason I have yet to subscribe to PSNow is my inability to keep ahead of my new PlayStation game purchases. However, with updates like the posted, when the inevitable lull in new games happens; I’m in.

    • Inevitable lull?

Won’t really happen. Not with all the good digital only games that come out for $5-15 dollars and the eventual backlog caused by flash sales.

  • Noice. Any chance we could see Nier and Demon’s Souls some time in the future?

  • It would be great if this was included with PS plus. That would a way to compete with Xbox One’s backwards compatibility. Just a friendly suggestion :)

    • That’s not financially viable for Sony.

You are only paying $$4.17 a month for PS+. This includes online multiplayer (infrastructure), 10GB of Cloud backups, and 6 free games a month.

PS Now is not the same as a free download. It actually requires a dedicated server blade to run your specific game. This is a 1:1 relationship rather than a 1:10,000. It also costs electricity to run the server for you, and additional electricity to run the AC in the server room.

The only way that this would be financially viable is if they made a PS Now+ subscription for $150-200 a year.

  • Looking more appealing but there needs to be a buy option and add nino kinu and ill sub for atleast a month

  • Sony should put Japanese visual novels and other easy to platinum/100% games on there and capitalize on the trophy hunting community. Heck, I’ve been part of a trophy hunting competition with hundreds of other people where the goal was for your team to get the most trophies in a two month period. Everyone went for the easy plats but some of these games, especially the Japanese only ones, are either rare or very pricey. Ps now would be a dirt cheap alternative that hundreds of trophy hunters would use instead.

  • Any plan to release this outside the US?

  • The only game I keep waiting to see is Def Jam: Fight for New York…. I LOVED that fighting game. Will this ever make it to PS Now?

    • In the last Sony questionnaire that went out to select ps4 owners, it was asking what they wanted to see in a new update, two of the options mentioned ps1 and ps2 games…So perhaps Sony is working on a way to add them to the streaming service. Deff Jam, NBA Street, Crash Bandicoot…There’s a ton of games I would love to be on the service.

  • I still don’t understand why someone can’t stream their PS3 titles they bought from the PSN Store without any additional cost. I like the Playstation Now idea if I wanted to play a new game or genre for the first time, but why pay more for a game that was already paid for?

    • Because Streaming a video game is not the same thing as streaming a movie.

Streaming a movie is literally just sending you packets across the internet. One server can service 10,000 people.

Streaming a game requires a dedicated machine that calculates every single action you take. This requires significant electricity to supply the server + significant electricity to cool the server room.

Sony would lose millions-billions by doing this.

  • Wow..my I have been on the fence about this but I have now choice now… Sign me up!

  • Still no Konami titles I see. Nor SquareEnix.

  • I jumped on the ps now sub last year when it went live. I loved it. Ran smoothly and great selection. Since then the library has doubled and my internet speeds have improved. So many more reasons to play. But the one issue that I have is still lingering. When the sub service went live, my family could share the service on one ps4 while on their own accounts. Shortly after the sub service launch, that changed. They would have to use my account. It resulted in them missing out on trophies for their accounts and some games don’t have an option for multiple save files. I wish the sub service was attached to the primary ps4 of the subscriber so anyone using that same ps4 could enjoy ps now on their own accounts. My digital and physical games can be played on their accounts. I can’t see myself paying for subs for every individual account on my ps4. We only have one ps4 that we share. My only complaint. Otherwise I love ps now and would go back in a heart beat if this got corrected. ^^

  • This post brought to you by the fine and friendly folks at Capcom.

  • So excited to play through the lost planet trilogy and I can’t wait to blow offs some zombie heads in Dead Rising. Can we get a search function or a way to browse the library of games in alphabetical order?

    • Hi coldkoala – thanks for sharing this feature request. We do not currently have a search feature. However, we will be showcasing the Capcom games front and center all month, so it should be easy to find Lost Planet, Dead Rising and all of the other awesome Capcom games on the service. Enjoy!

  • I want and anther player add battlefield 3

  • This is what we should be seeing updates for PSNow. It should be happening at least MONTHLY with this many games. So many games ares till missing bu this is a great start… Notice how I say start when PSNow has been around for months. That’s because it needs so much work like adding this many games more often.

Was really hoping for Resonance of Fate to come out for PSNow. Will have to wait longer.

Also, for the Vita there needs to be an option to switch the L and R buttons to R2 and L2. Some games use R2 and L2 to shoot and for some reason Sony didn’t think it was important enough to allow you to switch those controls.

  • Are these all available for the monthly subscription or are some exclusive to rental?

    • Hi Reckoner_89 – all 105 new games, including Resident Evil 6, Ultra Street Fighter IV and more are all available as part of the Subscription.

  • I did the free trial of PSNow when it first arrived and I was incredibly impressed. I thought if this service can stream Arkham City without a hiccup, it’s gotta be good…and that game (and the others I tried) was/were fantastic. This latest lineup is incredible. I think I’ll be signing back up. It would be nice to see Sony offer PS+subscribers the option for either playing online or getting the PSNow sub free(for those who don’t play online). Thumbs up Sony! You’re killing it!

    • Thanks Moxxidude – we’d be honored to have you jump back into the service. The 1-Month option provides the lowest cost to get back into the subscription, while the 3-Month option provides the best value. Hope you find an option that works well for you!
