Happy Holidays from PlayStation.Blog and Friends

Ah, December. A time to celebrate a number of different holidays for a number of different reasons. The PlayStation.Blog team is taking some time off to visit, gain a few pounds, and hopefully catch up on some of that gaming backlog we’ve accrued over the course of 2015.

Before we sign off for the year, we wanted to celebrate the creators who make not only PlayStation.Blog, but this industry in its entirety possible. It’s these studios who create the worlds we yearn to escape to, who write the stories upon whose every word we hang. It’s thanks to them that we can do what we love to do.

We invited a few folks to stop by and pass along along any holiday greetings they might have for you, our dear readers, and they responded in kind! Let’s enjoy these festive holiday cards, take a moment to appreciate the projects these creators put their hearts and souls into, and look forward to another incredible year.

  I don’t think he is saying he is above everyone. Just for so long now everyone complains about being said merry Christmas to and Christmas is the whole reason for the holiday in the first place. If we are supposed to respect all religions than why should we forget our own just because some ppl don’t celebrate Christmas now we are supposed to just say happy holidays to everyone. Keep Christ in Christmas. I have no issue with everyone else celebrating what they want but if I wish you a merry Christmas don’t get offended and say I don’t celebrate Christmas. It is just nice to know that some people still remember that Christmas exists.

  @worldlib777 did I say that? You should take some analytical / reasoning classes before you enter a debate. Wingman_SRK was implying that “Merry Christmas” is the only true way to wish people a happy holiday lol… I called him out on being ignorant on that point, nothing more. If you wanna say merry christmas, go for it… I’m not ignorant enough to try and stop you, lol… just like I wouldn’t force you to say Happy Hanukkah instead of Merry Christmas… ;)

  what a load of bull, Christmas is as much a religious holiday as SAINT patrick’s day or valentine’s day. It started off as a holiday celebrated by pagans, now it’s about a fat man in a sleigh delivering presents. simply put, it’s a national holiday, not a religious observance. Christians choose to celebrate Christ on this day, but most of the country is just giving gifts and having family togetherness.
  
  Evidence suggests that Jesus wasn’t even born on Christmas anyway, just the roman empire trying to Christianify their festival to try to avoid collapsing.
  
  Plus, there are people who don’t celebrate holidays at all, so by the logic displayed here, even happy holidays should not be displayed. who cares about other holidays, you should wish people a merry christmas. if you don’t celebrate it, then it’s not for you.

  Well if someone is being ignorant and disrespectful it is GOOD to call them out on it, instead of allowing them to continue to do so like they are correct. I speak my mind (why have a mind if you aren’t going to use it). Never understood why it hurts people’s feelings so much that some people choose to say HAPPY HOLIDAYS… it’s not like anyone is attacking your faith… You don’t see anyone telling the people who say “merry christmas” to not say that and to say happy hanukkah instead, do you? Get over your egos and realize there is more than 1 faith out there, it’s not the end of the world if someone doesn’t say “merry christmas” to you, lol, and it’s disrespectful to be trying to force everyone to say merry christmas… not to mention futile.

  But none of the people that you replied to dished hate, they respected that a company was willing to not be PC in order to say something as simple as a greeting during Christmas time. And you call them out for speaking their mind while you defend speaking your own mind. Just because you say they are attacking doesn’t mean they are.
  
  I think the issue that people have is that it isn’t that a person can’t subscribe to Christmas, but that people that do feel some sort of pressure to not announce it. I am perfectly fine with any person saying Happy Hanukkah to me because it is their holiday.
  
  There is such a thing as being too PC. But this isn’t what this thread is about. It just bothers me when people want to see white tigers. Merry Christmas and I hope you don’t let everything bother you so much this time of year. There is too little joy out there to worry about the context of which a blessing is meant.

  Kid, not that there was anything valid in your argument to begin with, but you saying “Merry Christmas” invalidated your attempt at coming across as the bigger person. This guy doesn’t like people ignorantly wishing everyone a “Merry Christmas” as if everyone celebrates or even recognizes it, and for all you know he could be offended by it. So, you saying it just to spite him shows how petty and inconsiderate you are of other people’s beliefs and wishes.
  
  Therefore, my response to your forcing your belief on someone is that it’s time for you to grow up and stop believing in fairy tales. :)

  many of these developers employ people from around the world and as it turns out not everyone celebrates xmas. PC is annoying but if you ponder how odd it would be for Kojima Productions to send out xmas cards it may dawn on you why most opt for ‘happy holidays’ instead.
