It’s about time that you guys have a sale where there is something that is actually worth getting. Amazing price on the Batman: Arkham Knight Premium edition. I’ve been waiting for a manageable price with all of the DLC. Already bought and downloading. I might just pick up something else too!

I have to say overall a pretty horrible flash sale to end the year. I been finding better deals this time with the weekly holiday one. Most of these already been on sale like Wolfenstien for about the same price. Lately been a little disappointed in the flash sales. Still look forward to it, but bad way to end the year.

Meh, nothing for me… but thanks for the offers I suppose. Picked up Game of Thrones on Week #1 of holiday sale for $5 CDN… glitch apparently, but that’s all. Nothing on the Xbox One at all. :/

I have to agree with you. Was going to say that too about xbox, now that is much worse than this flash sale, as bad as this is at least some are 50% off, not like the whole 17% you can get off on forza 6, yet gamestop has it on sale for 40 lol

Did you meant just a “sale”? Because it’s very horrible for flash sale! It’s god damn same prices. Even stores offering better prices for hard copy of the game. Batman $20. Just cause 3 $45. Etc…

I’ll probably pick up wolfenstien old blood.
Its too bad this flash sale has a theme (2015 games). Some of them arent from 2015, but it looks like the majority are. Flash sales dont really need a theme. I feel like it just restricts the sales, like It coulda just been a ‘Christmas- er, i mean *Holiday!* flash sale’. I’m hoping that Tuesday will bring some good sales on non-2015 games.
Fingers crossed for danganronpa 2 and lost dimension on vita.
Happy Christmas!

Hello!

Let me use this opportunity to thank you for all the great sales throughout the year. I definitely bought a LOT of stuff I wouldn’t have considered at ALL without the sales and the ones I regret are few and far between.

Happy X-Mas to those who care and all the best for the next year! I know 2016 will be even greater with a wooping 72 games on my wishlist before the year even started and roughly 85 % of them on the PlayStation side which is my prefered side of course.

Again and sincerely THANK YOU for commiting your lifes to games and us gamers!

Huh….

Absolutely EVERYTHING that I wanted to pick up this week was cheaper on Steam, Amazon, and other stores.

I spent a lot more than I should have but, oh well. One of these days, Sony might get the idea of what a sale is, but it hasn’t happened yet.

So I suppose what I’m trying to say is, “thanks for nothing.”

:D

First, Happy Holidays to everyone. The brightest and healthiest New Year to everyone. :)

Moving right along, I wanted to second the comment that there are some great discounts here. I’m not at all trying to strike a sour note, but the discounts on XBox live are negligible. Since many gamers have both consoles, would it kill Microsoft to sponsor a decent sale on some of those titles?

THANK YOU SONY. Another reason to be very thankful for my PS4.

The PS3 and Vita neglect continues. Man, why can’t we get at least *half* as many offers as the PS4 gets? It’s sad I’m bargaining with *half* when all systems should get about the same number of offers. Especially since the PSV is current gen. Also, what’s up with Deception IV being discounted always only on PS3 and PS4 but not on PSV? It doesn’t make sense~.

Well, nothing again for me this week. Thanks Sony for at least trying to keep everyone happy. I’m still stuck on PS3, so that’s part of my problem. Maybe if there was backwards compatibility… ;-) ;-) We could use some more $1 – $5 dollar sales though. Anyways, thanks for another great year and Merry Christmas to everyone here. Hope you all had or are having a safe and wonderful holiday.

VERY happy about the 50% price slashing of Batman: Arkham Knight Premium Edition, I picked that up right away. I’m disappointed however that there was no sale on the Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC though, yet the GOTY Edition is on sale for less than all the DLC add-ons combined. I already own DA: Inquisition (from when it last went on sale) and I was hoping to save on the DLC as well. Now, in order to save, I have to buy the game again? Makes no sense. I’ll wait until all the story DLC add-ons are $5 each But overall, a good Flash Sale.

I can’t be the only person that wants to puke when I see the prices of digital vs. physical games, can I?
It’s crazy! How on earth can you justify charging $29.40 for Diablo 3 on PS4 (and that’s the sale price!)
when the physical copy was less than that during Black Friday? I think I paid $25 for it over 6 months ago
(Not sure where I got it, probably Amazon) and while it’s a very good game, it’s already pretty old, so it’s bound
To be making a permanent price drop very soon. I’m sorry, but $60 for ANY digital game is absurd on so many levels;
1. With the exception of Nintendo, most companies will drop the prices of games within 2-4 months from $60 to $40
(sometimes even less).
2. There’re often sales at Target, Best Buy, Walmart, Toys R Us, Gamestop, etc. the sale could be “buy 1 get 1 50% off”,
or “buy 2 get 1 free”. Digital game “sales” are sporadic – sometimes keeping their launch price well after their physical version
Has hit the $19.99 bargain bin.

3. Not only do you get a huge discount during these “buy 2 get 1” sales, you also have something TANGIBLE that will always
have some kind of value to it. If you’re not a collector, and complete a game (or get bored of it) quickly enough, the amount you
Can get on eBay is damn near what you paid for it! And if it’s a game that ends up being rare, goes out of print, or has
something “collectable” with it – you can actually end up making 2, 3 times more money than what you paid for it!
4. P.T. (Silent Hills) and TMNT “re-shelled” This is the biggest problem, YOU OWN NOTHING! I “purchased” the silent hills P.T. Demo a while back. I can’t download it though, and there’s no reason why I shouldn’t be able to! it’s in my library, but… It’s not there?! Companies will take away games without notice, and without reason. We’re screwed if digital is our future!!!

Not going to disagree with you on most of your points, I prefer digital as well. However there is a balancing act they must do for the retail market. If Walmart is selling for $60 and psn sells for half that price, Walmart would be upset. There is obviously a demand for digital sales or they wouldn’t sell. My cousin does digital just because he doesn’t want to get off the couch to change the game, which I’ve heard from so many. Disks can get lost, and broken, plus the strain on the hardware running disks (my two year old loves ejecting disks then pulls up rather than taking them out, fortunately hasn’t broken fallout yet. And some would never sell their games, so the resale is a mute point. Plus, retailers compete with one another, psn has no competition with ps4 owners, only retail disks.

as long as you dont delete them they will never go away and in the case of silent hills, no you didn’t “purchase” it it was free. if you “purchased” it somewhere you sir have been duped.

I can probably think of 10 more reasons why to buy physical, but I’m sure you get where I’m coming from.
But I can only think of 1 reason to buy digital – convenience. And really, in the long term I see it more of a hassle. But
I’m a collector, so I know that if I were to buy digital, my hard drives would fill up mighty quick (especially wii u)! And HDs
seem to be breaking a little too often for my liking. so not only do you have to buy another HD, you have to re-download your library of games?! No thanks.
The saddest thing about this, I remember trading Nintendo cartridges with friends at school all the time,
it was great to be able to do it. Can’t do that with digital.

And PU-LEASE don’t say “games take up too much space”, unless you live in a Honda CRX, I think you’ll manage to find room.

So in closing, I’ll leave you with this; until they start pricing digital games relatively normal or fair (if physical is $60, digital should be $40 or less), and the digital market is kept up to speed with physical market (in terms of price drops)-
We shouldn’t buy them PERIOD! (Actually that doesn’t count for games that are only released digitally)
These companies save TONS of money in production costs, shipping, etc.
Yet we pay the same amount on new releases with nothing to show for it, AND no way to trade or sell it after we’re done?!

Am I missing something here? This seems like the single biggest “slap in the face” con-job in video game history!
Seriously, if there’s an angle I’m missing, let me know. Until then, I’m not paying to have valuable real estate needlessly filled on my already too small HD.

Diablo 3 on PS4 and PS3 are the same exact game. There’s no reason to charge $10 more for the PS4 version except basic greedy. You strangely price match other PS4 and PS3 games, yet when it comes to certain games, no, the PS4 version always has to cost more.

Thanks for bringing back the sale on Wolfenstein from the other week. Picked it up for $9- I was a day late on the last go round. Had to delete SO MUCH STUFF to get it to fit. Need to think about upgrading the HD, and we really need an option to store games externally.

I’ll never understand how digital copies can cost more than physical copies. That is the only reason I still buy physical copies. I bought a 2 TB hard drive to load up on games, but I rather save my money and buy more games. Sure it’s a pain in the butt to have to switch discs, but it’s worth it when you can get the same game for twenty or thirty dollars cheaper. If they did a price match to Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and the like then I would consider buying digital. Stop being so greedy Sony. You will make more money.

Honestly i thought the sale ok. Was gonna pick up assassin creed syndicate gold edition. Until i check around and found amazon had the physical for $54.51 so i priced matched at target. Honestly was hoping to find fallout 4 for the same price of $40.19 like battlefront and just cause 3 and rb6. Since they are all about just as new as one another.

This afternoon I saw that GTA V was at it’s sale price. Tonight, being still the 28th of Dec, I tried to purchase it but it went straight back to it’s original price. Why? it’s still the 28th of Dec. Is there a time of when the sale ends on the specified date? I feel really let down.

Yeah, thats kind of crappy. I went to Gamestop and had Mad Max in hand but put it back on the shelf because this blog said today was the last day of the sale. So instead, I bought a PSN gift card. I get home and even though its still the 28th, the Flash Sale has apparently ended. So now, I don’t have the game I wanted to play this week (the one week I get off this year) without spending almost twice as much as I would have spent in store. Thanks guys, real classy. If you are going to end the sale at 2 pm, specify because now Im just ****ed off and bored.

Hey guys,

Granted this is my own fault for not properly reading the details (although I’m pretty sure I saw a deadline of 12/29 at 5:00am on the games I wanted), but you need to stop having simultaneous sales with different end dates. Confused by the varying dates, I was waiting for my credit card to shift to a new billing cycle (28th around noon). I was ready to purchase $250 worth of games, but as I went to make my purchase all the games I desired were back to their regular price and now I will be getting no new games for Christmas.

+ lnsmhntr on December 28th, 2015 at 3:40 pm said:

I can’t be mad because low and behold the sale ended on the 28th, as this blog post I have now read states, though I am still convinced my games were labeled for the 29th, something I now can’t prove. I am really disappointed however and I think that if you’re going to have large simultaneous sales like this in the future, that all sales dates should end at the same time. You have a Holiday sale ending on the 29th, a Flash Sale on the 28th, and now I have an empty basket due to confusion.

Please consider this when coordinating future sales. After building up so much anticipation to add a bunch of great games to my library, I’m now so disappointed that I can’t bring myself to buy even one at full price.

Apparently 11 am. Which is said in the PSN Store but not here in this long and detailed blog. I posted about it on the forums and rather than a hearty “hey, we should totally include that info in the blog post that lays out all of the information on the sale,” I’m getting a lot of “maybe if you had looked in the store instead of at the long and detailed blog post, you would have known.”
