I just bought Metal Gear Solid The Legacy Collection 1987-2012 off eBay for $22 free shipping. Looks like I got a very good deal.

    Great. Now platinum them.

    MGS3 is the easiest.

    + veryhoudini11 on March 29th, 2016 at 9:43 pm said:

Yeah mgs3 isnt too time demanding to platinum. Its the only one I bothered to platinum so far.

You guys really need to update your “original price”.

Especially Rising which was sold for a whopping 74.99 on the PSN for two goddamn years. Which is painfully ironic since they released the DLC for free and you could get the disk version for 15 dollars three months after it came out.

+ bobbycracky on March 29th, 2016 at 4:25 pm said:

ikr, you can get the disk for 1.50 from glyd dot com with free shipping, remember when having ps+ meant you got games like that free during these “almost everyone owns these already” sales

+ Seluhir on March 29th, 2016 at 5:13 pm said:

Of course you can get a game used for less than buying it new…. when has that ever NOT been the case? Just curious.

But as to the original point… Sony doesn’t control the price. The publisher does. If Konami doesn’t want to lower the price, there’s nothing forcing them to. And you telling Sony to do so won’t change matters.

+ skiernan on March 29th, 2016 at 9:02 pm said:

@bobbycracky What is glyd? I tried googling it, but I couldn’t find it.

I actually thought Revengeance was the only good deal in the list. I already bought it new on disc for $5 from Five Below awhile ago. True, 2 of the DLC is free, but the other 5 cost $11 total, so I bought the Ultimate Edition (game + all DLC) for $7.50 last time PSN had it on sale.

    + PanTheMan16 on March 30th, 2016 at 4:20 am said:

@Seluhir – That’s not entirely correct. The publisher may require a specific amount/percentage from each sale, but Sony has their own mark-up, which is reflected in the price we see. Including “original price’, which is what it launched at years ago really isn’t relevant.
If I buy a 20+ year old truck, do I really care what it sold for in 1993, or do I care about the current value and the discount the seller is willing to give me?

Amazon has MGR brand new for $9.60 right now. This original price should be lowered to reflect the market as a whole, and not only what people are usually forced to pay in the PS Store.
But, this argument has been made countless times. Sony overcharges and we all know it. Not because a game isn’t worth it or because whoever doesn’t deserve to be paid, but because Sony often charges more than every other big-name retailer.

+ Seluhir on March 30th, 2016 at 11:30 am said:

@Pan but sony’s markup is standard as far as I’m aware so as to maintain a fair market… and it’s relatively small. So even if Sony cut it out, a 60 dollar game wouldn’t go down to 10. It’d go down to like 55 or so.

So what I said still stands. The publisher is the one who is causing the price to not go down, not Sony.

+ StalkerD on March 29th, 2016 at 4:13 pm said:

And still, many years later, Metal Gear Portable Ops Plus and Portable Ops are not compatible with PS Vita in North America.

+ CaptenMidnite on March 29th, 2016 at 6:55 pm said:

Really? I was downloading that game a moment ago because I wanted to know if I could transfer it from my PS3 to Vita. I never finished it on my PSP.

+ StalkerD on March 29th, 2016 at 4:14 pm said:

Also, Metal Gear Solid still can only be played on the PS Vita if transferred from a PS3.

+ NekoRave on March 29th, 2016 at 4:16 pm said:

Tron Run is 50% off for $9.99
I wish I had more money for the expansion but I want to finally get MGS 4.
Not a bad sale for those like me that haven’t gotten MGS 4, or other MGS games.

+ opikal on March 29th, 2016 at 9:10 pm said:

MGS4 has been 99 cents many times at gamestop. Right now its priced high at $4.96 though. Not that it isn’t an amazing game, but it has been under $2.99 for a long time up until recently.

You seem incredibly narcissistic…. And ignorant. The IGC almost always maintains the same schedule, and that reveal isn’t today. You’re complaining without knowing the games and insulting a title you’ve never played, and presumambly know near nothing about.

+ rudetoy on March 29th, 2016 at 4:25 pm said:

Patience, young lad! You’ll probably have to wait another 24 hours to find out the IGC April games.

However, I will save you the wait……the games will be……GARBAGE. Count on it. At least Sony is very consistent on this.

+ gameman15 on March 29th, 2016 at 5:07 pm said:

I would love to spend my PSN funds on this sale (even though I already have the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection on PS3 and the PS4 version of Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes from PS Plus), but considering that I am not supporting Konami because of their stupid business tactics (although I can forgive them if they make a new Bomberman game), I’m not buying into it.

+ dizeeStL on March 29th, 2016 at 5:27 pm said:

Sad that Portable Ops still does not work with the Vita.

+ DaShaka9 on March 29th, 2016 at 5:53 pm said:

Wow $40 for Metal Gear V is a sale? That’s pathetic.

+ Wolokowoh on March 29th, 2016 at 10:11 pm said:

Last month MGSV was 25 dollars for PS+ members during a sale that also featured the Witcher 3, Bloodborne, insert GOTY contenders AAA or indie, Until Dawn, etc. All were good deals. Don’t see why Konami didn’t make it around 30 dollars again. 40 dollars is more than regular Amazon price right now.

+ astayanax-plus on March 29th, 2016 at 7:46 pm said:

I would love to buy something but your store won’t take my money. Again.

I can’t believe they haven’t made the store capable of processing credit card payments in 10 years.

Fully capable of credit card payments

i can get it retail new for 30$

You got me there for a second. I saw MGS5 for 5 dollars and because it’s the first on the list, I stopped there and got me hyped because I thought it was the game that was recently released, but then a few seconds later, I realized that a demo was released for sale. I disappointed myself for falling for that.

Anyway, it’s a shame that the only 2 75% titles are the 2 worst in the series…MGS5 demo and Rising. The rest is 50%.

As a side note, I hope the Acid games will be on PSN someday. I had them on PSP, but because the UMD is terrible, the wear made some cards with especial cutscenes unplayable.

+ IKIKURAS on March 31st, 2016 at 8:25 am said:

For 4.99, you can’t go wrong. If you have played MGS:TPP, you will notice the difference between the two quickly (map functionality, etc.) but still a good solid game.

+ tj5678 on April 3rd, 2016 at 5:50 pm said:

Konami or Sony please allow us to play Metal Gear Portable Opps and Metal Gear Portable Opps Plus on our Vita(s). The games are already available digitally for Psp; please place these titles in the Vita store.

Not many people still play on their psp(s) anymore. Please place those titles in the vita store; even if u are not doing it for the fans; do it so you might sell more copies of the games.

What time today was the sale over? I logged in to download some stuff and it is back to full price already? This was at 3:00pm Central time.

+ Louplorange on April 4th, 2016 at 2:10 pm said:

unfortunately it ended the moment it became the 4th. I spoke to a rep (that was a little rude about it). You would think that if it ends the 4th that today would actually be the last day to purchase the games. Technically the 3rd of April was the very last day then. Also the fact that the sale page is still available and being promoted is a shame because it is very misleading.

Misleading indeed. Well, I snooze, I lose. Thanks for the info!
