50 New Games Join the PlayStation Now Lineup

James Martin's Avatar Posted by on Jun 06, 2016 // Director of Marketing, PS Now

Play new additions from 2K

PlayStation Now will be adding 50 games tomorrow, including Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, The Darkness II, Spec Ops: The Line and Duke Nukem Forever from the illustrious and immensely talented folks at 2K. In addition to these new additions, you can also play some of 2K’s other top hits, including Borderlands, Borderlands 2, BioShock, BioShock 2, BioShock Infinite, XCOM: Enemy Within and NBA 2K14.

Here’s a bit about the new 2K titles we’re adding this month:

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

Launch into the Borderlands universe and shoot ‘n’ loot your way through an exciting adventure that rockets you onto Pandora’s moon! Play as four character classes while carving a path of destructive mayhem across Pandora’s never-before-seen low-gravity moonscapes with all new moves, weapons, and vehicles! (Rated Mature)

The Darkness II

The Darkness II is an intense first person shooter that puts you in the role of Jackie Estacado, don of a New York crime family and wielder of an ancient supernatural force of chaos known as The Darkness. (Rated Mature)

Spec Ops: The Line

It’s been 6 months since Dubai was wiped off the map by a cataclysmic sandstorm. Thousands of lives were lost, including those of American soldiers sent to evacuate the city. Today, the city lies buried under sand, the world’s most opulent ruin. (Rated Mature)

Duke Nukem Forever

Put on your shades and prepare to step into the boots of Duke Nukem, whose legend has reached epic proportions in the years since his last adventure. The alien hordes are invading and only Duke can save the world. With hours and hours of over-the-top single player action, and a range of bodacious multiplayer modes, rest assured knowing the fun will last. (Rated Mature)

Enjoy a Gaming Getaway – with 400+ games this summer for only $29.99

We’re also very excited to announce two other bits of news today. First, with the addition of tomorrow’s 50 new games, the PS Now Subscription catalog will have expanded to total more than 400 games.

Second, we’re announcing a special discount on the 3-Month Subscription (a savings of 33%) that will be available in the U.S. and Canada starting tomorrow and ending July 11, 2016. The discount will apply only to the first subscription period purchased during the promotion, and subsequent periods will be charged at the full price of $44.99 for a 3-Month Subscription. Full details and eligibility requirements are available here.

The full list of 400+ PS Now games can be found on our website, at the bottom of this page. If you’re new to the service or have been sitting on the sidelines before giving it a try, we hope you’ll consider this a great time to give the service a try. Here’s the link to the 7-Day FREE Trial.

@ rudetoy – the promotion lasts until July 11th – so you should have plenty of time to pick this up after your free trial concludes. Just make sure auto-renew is turned off (best to do this sooner than later). Then come back and purchase your subscription on or after June 11th. Good luck!

@James Martin I purchased the $99 year subscription for PS now and when I did so I read through all the written text of the deal and it said that it will auto renew at the $99 price point. Your answer about stacking the three month add on to the year is a little confusing. Will the year still auto renew at the $99 price point?

+ rudetoy on June 6th, 2016 at 11:37 am said:

Well, the new offer is basically the same monthly price as the $99 yearly offer (off by a dollar or so).

Some of the new 50 games not mentioned in the blog: Syberia, Syberia 2, Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (great game, btw….have physical copy), and Way of the Samurai 4.

    + drd7of14 on June 6th, 2016 at 11:44 am said:

    @rudetoy

    1 year at $100 = 3 months at $25
    3 months at $30 = 1 year at $120

How is $20 difference off by a dollar or two?

+ rudetoy on June 6th, 2016 at 11:56 am said:

I’m talking monthly RATE, based on the limited offer. $30 for 3 months = $10 per month. $99 per year = $8.25 a month. I said previously I was off by a dollar, so make that off by $1.75 a month. Still a good deal if you missed out on the yearly special.

+ rudetoy on June 6th, 2016 at 12:01 pm said:

Also, you can’t take the monthly price offer and take it to a year. It’s a limited offer for 3 months only. However, as I said, the monthly rate is very close to the $99 yearly offer. So, if you missed out on the yearly offer, why not enjoy nearly the same monthly price for 3 months? It’s a good deal.

    + drd7of14 on June 6th, 2016 at 2:53 pm said:

“Also, you can’t take the monthly price offer and take it to a year.”

“I’m talking monthly RATE, based on the limited offer. $30 for 3 months = $10 per month. $99 per year = $8.25 a month.”

But you can go the other way, setting it by month for month? You can’t do that either. You have to use common denominators, and those can’t get smaller.

By your method, you should be comparing them both at 3 month increments. Or just pretend it’s a 33% savings, which it’s not compare to the previous 1 year promotion.

+ rudetoy on June 7th, 2016 at 1:15 am said:

As I said, there’s no point in extending the offer to 12 months, since it’s not meant to be. But as a short term deal, it compares favorably to the monthly rate for the $99 deal. If the $1.75 difference X 3 months bothers you, so be it. It’s a good deal for a 3-month period. Yes, the $99 per year is better but the 3-month promotion is a good short-term substitute for now.

I also like how you can stream to more than just your ps4. Can’t wait til they add a laptop app to play PS now games from

Can you guys please make it so that ALL games are included with a subscription? I mean it’s kind of ridiculous that I paid $20 for a month and ended up finding out Mirrors Edge is NOT included with a subscription. That makes like no sense. It’s like if Netflix decided not to include Daredevil or any of their series because they wanted me to rent them separately.

+ cusman on June 6th, 2016 at 12:13 pm said:

Not really the same thing. Sony doesn’t own the license to Mirror’s Edge. Sony’s own games are on PS Now. It is the 3rd party that come in and out of rotation. Netflix does the same thing. Tons of movies you used to be able to watch on Netflix come out of contract and if not renewed (negotiations don’t work out) get de-listed from the service.

    + veryhoudini11 on June 6th, 2016 at 3:38 pm said:

Plus while we are comparing it to netflix : Netflix use to have an issue where not everything was stream able and needed to be mailed to you. They didn’t have the license to stream it but customers still could que it for the dvd copy. Also Netflix has a small portion of movies available and when they add more to their streamin g service they also take some away. So see your comparison is very flawed. This is more like amazon video prime but still not exactly similar.

Hi Wntermute – you can still save by purchasing the 3-Month Subscription, since it can be added to your existing subscription.

For example, if you have a 1-Month Subscription, you can purchase the 3-Month extension for $29.99 for the initial period (average of $10 per month). At the end of the first 3-Month subscription, the price would go back to the regular price of $44.99 for 3-months (average of $15 per month).

We add new content every month, so hopefully you’ll be able to take advantage of this special pricing offer!

A sequel seems highly unlikely, but I’d love to see a spiritual successor named “Title Fight,” perhaps taking more inspiration from PowerStone to form a psuedo-3D brawler and quell the incessant cries of certain fans that never played the game.

I bought a 1 year subscription to PSNOW and then had to relocate to Uruguay because I work at a non profit helping the poor. On my off time when I want to relax I want to game so I try playing PSNOW and it does not say I have a proper connection. My speeds are fine but apparently the issue is that theres no server near my area for me to connect to so I can not play with PSNOW. Basiclly I wasted good money on a year subscription. I then called customer service many times (This was back in February of this year) and everyone I spoke to said that I should have no problem connecting when In fact there is no possibility to. I asked for a refund and was denied. I lost a year subscription. Can you please explain this and let me know if theres any chance of a server coming up near Uruguay. I will be patiently awaiting a response. I even sent an email and never received any help. I don’t think this is right. This is for my PS3 account, starchild789 if you need to see references if they even keep the history reports. I’m not happy and Ive been a supportive and loyal PS fan since the PSX days. I’m asking that a server comes up in South America near where I am located or I’m given a refund.

No more marvel vs capcom games will come out, due to some contract restrictions.

Good idea on the discount, this think service is a bit too expensive for me, but I do think it’s a fantastic deal for people who don’t own a PS3 and missed out on a lot of these games. Even when I still had my PS3 I liked this service.

Seems like it’s more quantity over quality, again. A lot of these games are just terrible, with a few OK games in the mix. I’m pretty disappointed unfortunately.
