I’m getting Digimon World for sure Tuesday. So glad Bandai Namco continues to bring these titles to the West. Will also get Hitman since it’s finally coming out on disc even though I’m bummed out that it doesn’t have a Platinum.

Also have my eye on Divide, Dexed for PSVR, and Linelight. May pick up Abzu on disc too since I enjoyed that game. Naruto I’ll just buy the DLC for. Great week and more great stuff coming after that.

    TrueAssassin86x said:

    January 27th, 3:37 pm

Wait….. No platinum for the disc version of Hitman welp thats one less game i gotta buy.

Spending money else where makes you life better because….? You’ll still spend money sony and if you dont sony doesn’t care the loss of 1 kid troll doesn’t make a difference.

Gonna get Dynasty Warriors GODSEEKERS. Just wish it wasn’t Digital Only. Can we least pre load it though?

Please bring back the Store Update

    TrueAssassin86x said:

    January 27th, 3:16 pm

    THIS IS THE STORE UPDATE

    gowchamp1 said:

    January 27th, 3:25 pm

You must be new to the Playstation blog true assassin but every Tuesday there would be a huge blog post of everything that was put in the PlayStation Store on the store update including all the DLC all the movies all the PlayStation plus stuff every single new game new VR game this is just the drop this is always been here all this tells us is what’s going to be retail and digital it has no add-ons nothing like the store update

    TrueAssassin86x said:

    January 27th, 3:35 pm

    @gowchamp1

And you must be new to reading sony said that the drop is now the store update after they merged the two

    God-Of-Lyf said:

    January 27th, 4:42 pm

They didnt merge the two, they just got lazy and dropped the update all together. I bet it was Ryans idea as well. But no sweat from my brow. I can use the money I would of spent somewhere else.

    siriusbee said:

    January 27th, 6:57 pm

Seriously. I can tell you that I’ve been buying less games than I would have since this change. It’s just not as exciting as the Store Update was.

    Trendy_Kid said:

    January 28th, 3:24 pm

I agree that I definitely buy less when I actually have to poke around in the store to find anything. It’s already poorly organized/categorized.

    BDB1324 said:

    January 29th, 10:28 am

Agreed please bring back the store update. Merging the two has hurt your business from me. I don’t like using the store until I am ready to buy because it runs slow. Having the weekly updates allowed me to easily narrow down what I want and included the price. Please keep the drop and store updates separate as they are both valuable.

    TrueAssassin86x said:

    January 27th, 5:20 pm

I Would laugh if sony dropped the IGC from PlayStation Plus. It Wouldn’t bother me though i dont use plus to get the free games every month unlike the crybaby kids that whine about the games every month

    Mercenary09 said:

    January 27th, 6:17 pm

The PlayStation Plus post always happens on the Wednesday before the first Tuesday of the month. Since the first Tuesday of the month isn’t until Feb 7th the Plus post won’t go up until this upcoming Wednesday, Feb 1st. This is how it always happens.

    billyok said:

    January 28th, 8:31 am

I’m sure they’ll announce the February games and give you your monthly chance to be smug about not having Plus very soon. Just hold tight.

Id rather have the store update than the drop to be honest. Since it has been gone Ive spent less on the network and my friends say the same thing. I would think Sony would be in business to make some money, but apparently not. Hey, Im not losing any sleep on money saved each week I tell you that…!

    CaptReynolds said:

    January 27th, 5:52 pm

The drop = lazy cut and paste

gameman15 said:

January 27th, 5:57 pm

I personally don’t care if Sony retired the Store updates on the PlayStation Blog because, if I want to see what deals the PlayStation Store is offering, I can just go to the PlayStation Store itself.

    TrueAssassin86x said:

    January 28th, 4:00 am

This. People need to stop being so lazy and just check the store every today. Blog reading for store updates = LAZY

    gameman15 said:

    January 28th, 8:34 am

@TrueAssassin86x Do you even realize that people on this blog has the right to criticize Sony for no longer posting the PlayStation Store update? This is the United States of America. Therefore, we have freedom of speech and expression thanks to the First Amendment. Because of that, whether you like it or not, people can voice their opinions and give Sony criticism however whenever. And unlike you, I can respect other people’s opinions.

    TwinDad said:

    January 31st, 2:55 pm

    @Gameman15

Freedom of speech is against the Government, not public corporations. I also agree that if people want to post a request to get the sales chart back, go for it.

    memin2009 said:

    January 31st, 5:31 pm

Yes that’s true but they have a platform to reach customers that do not just go to the store to see what deals they are offering. Why not use all the platforms at their disposal to reach more customers, to earn more money. There is no mention in the Drop the sales that they currently have going on. It’s good business to reach as many customers as possible.

ALEX87PS said:

January 27th, 6:11 pm

I’m also adding up to the general suggestion:

Bring back the Store Update please.

I’d rather have the Store Update than The Drop if I had to choose. If you want to push The Drop for some reason (to wich most of us don’t agree) incorporate it to the Store Update post in a minor way.

The Store Update post is much more efficient in showing sales/new releases and looks much more organized.

Please listen to us the consumers, bring back the Store Update post.

Gonna add to the voices here. Please bring back the Store Update, or at least properly bring the stuff from the update into the Drop. This sucks: No prices, no link directly to the Store, no add-ons/DLC, and no sales.

DRD_Fuehrer said:

@Ryan Clements

In the Drop posted on Jan. 6, 2017 (for the Jan 10 update), the following was stated in the actual post:

“Starting this week, we’ll begin including more PlayStation Store coverage right here on The Drop in lieu of a dedicated PS Store Update post. In addition to revealing the week’s new releases, The Drop will curate a list of other content starting each Tuesday, from major add-ons and DLC to select discounts, themes, and more. Let us know what you think!”

That “other content” was not included in that blog post, along with the following three Drops (including this one). Are we ever going to see those details again, in the Drop or otherwise? It’s a little frustrating that a new process for providing these details was explicitly mentioned in that Jan 6 post, but never executed to.

KBG29 said:

January 27th, 9:41 pm

Looking forward to Dexd. Keep on bringing fresh content to PSVR.

Non gaming and entertainment apps are welcome to. Give PSVR the opportunity to be the iPhone of the VR space. Having Sony at the helm of the market would be the best scenario for innovation, and continued improvement. I don’t want to see VR stagnate like the mobile industry has.

ASharkAmongMen said:

January 27th, 11:29 pm

Pretty excited for Road to Boruto. Looks better than the actual UNS4, from what I can tell.

Highly recommend Abzu to anyone who hasn’t picked it up. If I wasn’t saving my money for all the games coming in the coming months, I’d totally pick up the physical edition to go along with my digital.

ElektroDragon said:

January 27th, 11:43 pm

BRING BACK Playstation Store Update on Tuesdays!!! You eliminated the wrong blog feature. If you had to eliminate any, eliminate this one.

AizawaYuuichi said:

January 28th, 1:39 am

I’m in agreement with many here. The Drop, while a fun glimpse at what was coming out in a few days, is ENTIRELY less useful than the Store Update post was. If you had to get rid of one of these two features, why did you get rid of the one with more information? Was it really that hard to format tables correctly, to get all the “Original” and “Sale” prices in the right column? Maybe if you had multiple people work on it, one to write and one to check, rather than working on two separate posts, it wouldn’t have been in such a horrible state. Dropping the more informational post and keeping the lazier post because it’s easier is not a good way to continue growing your business. It appears lazy, and IT IS LAZY.
Either stick to what you said you would do, and ACTUALLY INCLUDE INFORMATION IN THE DROP, or DROP the drop and give us back the Store Update post.

PSP is powerful enough to play Double Dragon 4, yet it skips the Vita. Sometimes it can be hard to be a Vita owner.

    TJ_Solo said:

It’s only as hard as you make it. Focusing on games the Vita doesn’t get is a sure-fire way to become a bitter Vita owner.
