PlayStation Now: Stream PS4 Games in 2017

The PS Now game streaming library is set to expand this year with PS4 games, playable on PS4 and Windows PC with a single subscription.

As many of you know, PlayStation Now lets you stream hundreds of PS3 games — currently 483 to be exact — to your PS4 and Windows PC.

We’re excited to announce that PS Now’s catalog is set to grow even further, as we’ll be expanding to include a new platform: PlayStation 4 games. All of the games in the service, including PS4 games, will be included with a single PS Now subscription. We’ll share more information as we get closer to launch, so stay tuned.

In the next few weeks we’ll kick off a private test with PS4 games on PS Now. If you’re an active PS Now subscriber, keep an eye on your email in case you get an invitation.

If you’re new to PS Now, the subscription service offers access to a large and ever-expanding library of games. Since PS Now utilizes our cloud streaming technology, you can access the entire catalog of games, select one, and start playing quickly without needing to wait for downloads.

Also, PS Now uses cloud saves, letting you start a game on PS4 and continue playing on another PS4 or even a Windows PC (or vice versa).

If you haven’t given the service a try yet, now’s the perfect time to give it a spin with the seven-day free trial.

Here’s a list of some of the most popular games on PlayStation Now during February:

  • Red Dead Redemption
  • Tekken Tag Tournament 2
  • Mortal Kombat
  • WWE 2K15
  • The Last of Us
  • Mafia II
  • Injustice: Gods Among Us
  • NBA 2K14
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution
  • Batman Arkham Origins

  • Yeah, I kinda thought this was the case for dropping support on those other platforms…..to bring PS4 games to the service. I tried the $99/year subscription and the service worked really well for me. Streaming was fluid and it was nice just jumping into a new game without having to download.

I do expect the subscription cost to be high however with the inclusion of PS4 games, so would need to hear more info on that. Guess we will see soon enough!

Oh, bring the STORE UPDATE back to the blog!

    • Also another sign of a PSP 2.0 ;) #wishfullthinking

    • I got the $99 deal too but yikes they really should no increase the price. so many people are already complaining about the Price.

    • Its 99 for a year, my gawd what more do you people want. Thats 8 bucks a month for 400+ games. People are so cheap. They expect sony to give things away for Free. If you bought all these games you had access to it would cost you a lot more than 100 bucks.

    • Now if PS Now streaming would actually work on Linux PC, I’d subscribe in a heart beat.

    • Is it PS4 games or PS4 exclusives that the question Sony would be crazy putting there top exclusives on PC

  • While this sounds wonderful to me. Sadly I can not use Playstation Now because I have a data cap on my internet. If there was a way to download the games for offline play it would work way better and you would get more clients I think. I’ll keep watching in case that happens.

    • XBOX has that additional perk.

Sony doesn’t want us to have a “download option” in the package It would seem. Sony isn’t probably isn’t even aware that many people around the world have bad internet…

keeping this as a “Stream Only” package, is literally ridiculous.

    • What is your data cap?

    • Its 99 for a year, my gawd what more do you people want. Thats 8 bucks a month for 400+ games. People are so cheap. They expect sony to give things away for Free. If you bought all these games you had access to it would cost you a lot more than 100 bucks.

    • plasticmissile Do you have any idea what PS Now is, or what problem it’s trying to solve? No, no you don’t. Clearly you don’t understand what it’s like to develop for a processor that has 8 concurrent processors that while underpowered individually are an utter work horse together, but require processing data in tandem, because if you don’t have the processors chewing through data at a regular rate, you end up under utilizing the hardware.

Well it’s pretty hard to emulate games running on that kind of architecture. Not only does the PS3 have a difficult CPU structure to emulate, one that is completely foreign to the kind of coding that the PS4 uses, but on top of all of that the Blu-Ray player is terrible at random read/write, but amazing at sequential read/write. So what that means is that the PS3 disc struggled to read fast enough, so to compensate developers installed a portion of the game to the hard drive to boost access times which diminished loading.

Do you comprehend how hard it is? Or are you asking for features so complex you can’t even begin to understand the underlying concept?

    • Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn’t the 99 bucks a year a limited time offer and no longer available? If so, using the “Oh, the price is fine!” argument is stupid. I agree…99 dollars a year is an acceptable price and would be equal to xbox ones planned “Game Pass” service which offers a similar service, excepts lets you DL the games instead of streaming them so anyone can participate even on cruddy internet days. (Yea, it will only have 100 games at launch, but it will include XBOne titles as well as 360, and im sure the list will grow)

Personally, I missed out on the 99 buck deal, so, if I sub it’s between 20 to 14 bucks a month….mainly for PS3 games, that I have already bought on PS3….and a good number of PS3 games that were given free as part of the PS+ subscription….So, yea…I would say a price increase would be a bit much.

    • @Plasticmissile: you don’t know that if Sony let PC “download” and play like Xbox Pass or somekind like that. It is just like Sony kill “exclusive” term for over nearly 60 million users of PS4. Which is suicide for Sony when they not only need to sale software, they also need to sale hardware. So PC can only hire their PS Now to play games not OWN. And exclusives is always exclusively on PS4. You just can experience exclusives (if PS4 exclusives are ready to play) by hiring not owning.

  • Seemed like this is where the service was inevitably going to end up.

Question: will people be able to download PS4 games on the service for standard local play as long as their subscription is active, or will streaming be the only way to play these games even if you’re using hardware that can play them natively?

    • Logic would dictate streaming-only. Less likely to have someone try to break DRM and incentivises people to still buy a system if they want the games on a more permanent basis.

    • Sine they didn’t do that for PS3 games, i doubt it will change for PS4 games. But it is something i would really like out of PS Now, since it would basically turn it into a rental service/subscription for PS3/PS4 games, and have the added benefit of better performance and less internet usage.

    • Well theoretically they could enable that option. The issue is would they? If they don’t offer that for PS3 games people will whine. I don’t think the DRM has anything to do with it because if someone could break the DRM on PS Now I doubt they would struggle with PSN store DRM.

I have to personally think that cutting support for PS3/Vita/TV/etc was to allow people to download, but then again, the PC client? We’ll have to wait and see is what it boils down to.

  • Sorta cool. Though just depends on the games and my internet. Your going to make me stop buying games Sony.

    • I’m sure any business would prefer you to rent software over buying it. …That really is the ultimate end game here.

  • Any chance we’ll see PS1 and/or PS2 games coming?

    • Kidcommando if that’s the ultimate end game, they got at least 10 years before they can reach that end game, because the way things are going there’s not going to be the capacity necessary to support such a future any time soon.

If you think about it games like Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, etc have a lot to gain. Games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, those have a lot to lose.

So such a future would be impossible to predict, but the fact of the matter is compared to Gamefly, Blockbuster, and any other rental service, this is pretty much an amazing deal. The only one that comes close is Microsoft’s new thing. I can’t say that poor people having access to more games is a bad thing.

I can’t dismiss all of your complaints however, because i know that companies have screwed over consumers in the past. So, while you have some valid concerns, I think you’re also overlooking other valid concerns.

  • Welp with this news it means the end of PlayStation, no need for PlayStation play all PlayStation games on pc

    • You don’t really think it’s the end of PlayStation, right? It won’t be day 1 new games, and it won’t have every PS4 title, it’ll just be a selection, so there is no need to be concerned.

It’s great for people with more of a budget or bigger appetite for games, as they can catch up on games cheaper than buying outright every game they are even mildly interested in playing.

I’ll be resubscribing when this hits.

I would also like to echo the downloadable aspect. While I understand the investment in the streaming technology and how successful it is, but like Netflix is now offering, having the option to download for those of us with inconsistent internet or caps would be great.

    • Yeah, I don’t like this… I want consoles to survive =/.

    • Bro no it’s not ps now only supports 720p only stereo audio and a lot of input lag

    • @airJordan_Xx – it is 720/30 now, but it will probably go to 1080/60 if your internet can support it – just like streaming your own PS4 to your PC if you have a Pro (as the servers will probably be modified PS4 Pros)
The games still wont look or feel as good as the original though – I’ve never had any controller lag though and I’ve used it many times

    • Why buy PS4 if you can eventually play it’s exclusives on your preferred platform like PC
      ???

With this exclusives mean nothing and with so little TRUE exclusives on PS4 (I don’t mean timed exclusives and fake ‘console exclusives’ which are also on PC)

This makes purchasing PlayStation 4,5 etc much less enticing next gen I might just go all PC. PS5 will likely be as irrelevant as Xbox since PC can not only play all PC games at best quality and framerates and cheaper + free online but also can play PS4 exclusives and Xbox exclusives all on one PC.

Nintendo Switch is the only one with true exclusives nowhere you can’t play their many exclusives anywhere else. Best companion next to PC which I’ll jump ship to soon and drop PS5. PC free online also is better and not forced like PS+ to play online and Nintendo Switch online much cheaper but still not sound as great as PC free online, PS+ should be optional service with multiplayer being free.

This streaming stuff needs to end

    • Exactly, even Sony wants consoles to end. They are supporting PC more than Vita, what a great way to respect your fanbase. /s
PC will be the only platform really soon, now it’s time to move there, even Sony wants this.

    • How is allowing someone to stream a game, not own but STREAM it, “wanting to end consoles”?

    • Indeed. Those games are no longer exclusive. Now I just just play them on my computer. That’s pretty cool. If they bring all of them to the service, I will just sell my PS Pro.

    • You guys have COMEPLETELY messed up the playstation legacy big time. Im not dumb. I can see five moves ahead. One thing leads to the other. PS4 games on PS Now is merely the start of things to come. PS4 exclusive games will eventually end up natively on PC. Once PS NOW fails financially on PC because no one will want to play laggy games, you guys will find other ways to make up for the investment of PS NOW for example by releasing PS4 games natively on PC either behind a service or just regular releases. You guys are doing EXACTLY the opposite of what made the PS4 sell in the first place, Which is having games ONLY ONLY PS4, With no more exclusives on playstation consoles what will be the reason for me to own a Playstation? you guys have
      devalued playstation today.

    • Yes the PlayStation console is seeing it’s final days. Maybe PlayStation 5 is the last console, maybe. In 10 years, when everyone has 10 GB internet at home, everything will be streaming. Instead of paying for a console, you buy a $20 playstation connect (same size as an amazon fire stick) and plugin it into your hdmi port on your TV. Sony TVs will have it built in. Then you just login to your account, pay a one-time free for new games that you can stream forever or subscribe to PS Now and/or PS Plus.

This benefits consumers in that they don’t need to own the expensive hardware, and Sony can upgrade it’s back-end hardware on it’s own schedule. Everything is moving to streaming. even the PC at some point. (i.e chrome book.)

    • Actually this is good for the PS4 players.
Considering the price of the subscription and the costs to run the servers I’m assuming that the companies do not get much money from their games per user. So they will rather put the game on a 5$ sale than put it on PS NOW.
My prediction is that we should see game sells more often.

On the other hand 3 years old game being streamed won’t kill the console. Don’t expect to see Uncharted 4 any time soon…
Before a game goes in to the library it’s price should be considerably low so any reasonable person would rather buy/own it than rent it for some time.

Also you should take in to consideration that there is no multiplayer with streaming. So this is like renting an 3 years old, 8 hours long movies… How will that kill the consoles?

    • …and as a PS fan i’m sad to say that I find the xbox games pass much more interesting, considering you have every game and system option available (including multiplayer) in the renting period with no lag at full framerate/resolution.

    • Playstation sales are not going to slow to a crawl, most consumers aren’t going to build streaming rigs for their home theatre, only the ones who were already looking to do that really will. Most people are just going to want a console where they can pop in the game and have hte updates come down and play, internet bandwidth is not good enough to support total digital future, there’s no reason to believe that the PS5 will be overshadowed.

People like you were saying that the PS4 won’t do great because people don’t want consoles anymore and the consoles are too much like PCs and therefor yadda yadda yadda a ton of stuff that didn’t come true.

The Wii U and the Switch have the most exclusive ways to play their games since you can’t stream in any way shape or form, but the sales of those won’t ever be more than 15-20 million units.

Nintendo is terrible in the console gaming market. Absolutely terrible they released a tablet that gets scratched by it’s own dock with no future proofing due to lack of internal storage. Nintendo is better at exercise equipment than they are pushing gaming consoles.

    • Ive been a firm believer that exclusives are important to the identity of any console. If a console puts all their exclusives on PC, than they are no longer exclusives. After 2 decades of being a loyal supporter of the PlayStation brand, I feel this is a terrible decision on Sonys part. I have overlooked bad decisions in the past. But this decision threatens the very existence of the PlayStation console. I dont want a future where consoles are no longer relevant and everything is just service based on PC. The only gamers benefiting from this decision are PC gamers…NOT PlayStation gamers. In order to save PSNow, Sony is willing to sacrifice what made the PS4 so successful. This is a terrible gamble. As a longtime PlayStation supporter, im very disappointed by Sonys decision.

  • Nooooooooooooooo!

Sony, make PS Now like PS Video and less like Netflix. Allow ALL PS3 and PS4 digital games to be streamed. When a user buy a PS3 or PS4 game digitally, give them the option to pay an additional $10 to stream the game. So, they can either download to play it offline or stream it online on their PS4 or PC. Either way, they own the game. Also, put PS Now behind PS+. This will give you additional renevue to cover the sever cost. In addition, for those who do not want to own the game, you can offer a rental and/or subscription option. Do not have any rental optional games.

    • Sorry, comment for another part of the comment section – didn’t realised you had to press ‘reply’ at the top of a thread :/

    • Stop with the fanboy stuff please and Grow Up this is good for business and smart choice and I love it

  • I actually LIKE PS Now, despite not every game in the service library being available with a subscription *looks at Mirror’s Edge…But I really don’t care anymore about the service with the cancelation of support on the Vita. For whatever reason the service was at its best on that device. It ran the smoothest without hardly any delay and perhaps due to the smaller analog sticks, controlling the camera in games felt way more accurate then on anything else. Unless the price gets a change then I don’t see the inclusion of PS4 games being much of an added attraction to the service. Especially not after Microsoft announced gamepass and the fact that it’s not streaming games. On a side note, why is it that the default control scheme for PS Now on PS Vita makes more sense then what is always given to us with remote play? Having L2 and R2 up in the top right corner of the screen is absolutely horrible and makes no sense. Sony should have just asked devs to provide players with the default look of a controller at least or give us multiple options like what is the case on PS Now.

  • Whoa, very cool news.

  • I’m not sure how to feel about this announcement…

On the one hand, it will be nice to play older PS4 games that I might have passed on; but on the other hand, when Sony originally acquired Gaikai, the promise was to bring PS2/PS1 games to the platform first. Also, this addition seems more reactionary to Microsoft’s recent game pass announcement, and putting PS4 games on PC may negatively affect console sales. I don’t own Sony stock, so I’m indifferent, but from a business perspective this seems less than ideal. Exclusives sell hardware.

  • This makes no sense after further thought, I think xbox games pass got them shook and even with that PS Now doesn’t even allow downloading. This doesn’t make any sense unless they’re planning to add more features and what about sharing, recording clips? you can’t even do that with the PS3 games on PSNow. it’ll seem gimped imo. Sony is the market leader. I understand being competitive but eh this doesn’t make sense as of now.

  • If the subscription is tied to my account, then why can’t it see that I already own games that are available in the PS Now service?!
I should be able to stream the games I’ve already purchased… and If I was playing them through PS Now, I would probably subscribe to the service to play games that I didn’t own.

You already lost me to Xbox due to backwards compatibility, and no 4K player support on the pro, and now recently my PS Plus subscription after 5+ years. It’s going to be harder to win me back into your ecosystem the longer it takes you guys to sort this out.

    • Because streaming costs money and the price you paid for your version of the game did not include the streaming cost.

If Sony allowed everyone to use PSNow service just because they owned a game, they would go broke…plus you would be using data that should be directed toward people who are actually paying for the service.

It makes sense if you think about it rationally…PSNow was never meant to be a backward compatibility solution.

  • But i hate playing games via streaming, my internet isnt fast enough for this service so i unsubscribed from ps now. Give us the option to download the games to play offline and i will subscribe

  • This is great! I can’t wait to give it a try. I am currently subscribed for 99 bucks a year and I’m really happy with the service. I hope the 99 bucks a year deal doesn’t go away. I’m set to auto renew December of this year. Here’s hoping I get an invite to try PS4 games out! It would also be great if the service adds PS2, PS ONE, Vita and PSP titles.

  • I’m not interested in streaming games.

Why don’t you allow the option to allow people to download these games and play them as long as they have a subscription. You disable people from playing Playstation plus games if their subscription lapses so it’s not like you don’t have the ability to do this.

I’m never going to pay to stream games but I might sign up to a download service.

You should give people options, the more options the better the service will sell.

    • The PS4 is a far more limited platform than a PC. You don’t have to worry about someone downloading a bunch of other software to break DRM and keep the game.

  • Now it’s official, Sony is not interested on console gaming anymore, just like Microsoft, and this is happening when PS4 i

    • …when PS4 is doing great.
Congratulations Sony, you killed the PS4. What’s the point to have a console if all the games are coming to PC? Well, if even Sony wants this, it’s time to accept it and move to PC. The Nintendo Switch can be interesting too, because it has exclusives, for now.

  • Noooo, Sony. Instead, how about putting your engineers to working on a way for the PS4 Pro to natively run/emulate PS1/PS2 (maybe even PS3) games we already own (especially those on disc)? Streaming games is an incredibly poor option, that is only acceptable for those with insanely fast internet connection (and low standards when it comes to input lag). If you look at what the “competition” was able to do in terms of backwards compatibility, PS Now is shameful.

    • @helbertpina While I do agree that Sony should add backwards compatibility with PS1 and PS2 games to the PS4, backwards compatibility with PS3 games will most likely never happen due to the Cell processor (that the PS3 uses) is way too powerful to be emulated on the PS4.

    • “being way too powerful” not “is way too powerful”.

  • Sony Issa “L” lmmfao damn man y’all had one job this will hurt the PS4’s momentum trust me when I say this.. let’s see how this unfold but i don’t see much good from this. that Microsoft games pass news may have force you guys hands I’m guessing. But we’ll see.

  • Seriously as a huge PlayStation fan ever since PS1 this is extremely disappointing news. You can already see PC + Nintendo gamers rejoicing everywhere now they don’t need to buy a PlayStation console no more for it’s very little amount of full proper PlayStation exclusives they can happily wait and save alot of money and play the exclusives they wanted to play on PC now..

    • And this happens when PS4 is doing great, just WOW Sony, you really want console gaming to disappear too.
Switch and PC is the best combo now, it’s all you need to play all the games.

  • This is great news! Now all we need is to get more of those PS1 and PS2 games on there ;) . PS Now or the PSN store with the classics would really be the cherry on top of all of this

  • Disappointing. It will hurt PS4 momentum, lot of people that have PC will wait this Service, instead of buying PS4.

Stupid decision. Hope it will be a huge shot in Sony’s foot.

  • When Will Playstation now Come to sweden?

  • this is good news for those who dont have a ps4 or dont even want to buy one.also this service will probably attract some of the xbone crowd since most of them do PC gaming already.

the only issue that i have with this is isp’s data caps. sony should talk to telcos to allow their service not to count agaisnt the cap or something

    • Your statement is contradicting, if these games aren’t good enough for pc gamers to by a os4 what makes you think these games will attract them in to a subscription? Heck isn’t the point of pc gaming that fact that you can mess with the settings for improvement? Lol the games will be locked at the same settings on the ps4 games so I doubt this will attract them.

  • I’ll never get PS NOw, I have all the games I like (PS1, PS2 and PS3) and Sony should be able to make a decent emulator for them on PS4. I hate how Sony tries to milk us instead of offering good products or experiences. PS Now was DOA(since Sony bought Gaikai) because of the internet connection you require.

    • Streaming is the model of the future so perhaps modernizing (be it local or on a larger scale) is the answer here. Trust it is not just Sony who is moving in this direction and if you do not want to get left behind I would take the proactive approach. I pay a decent penny for my 100mbps internet and not for nothing I would not be all that happy if my options were limited due to others not willing or able to achieve the same. I made it my business to have the best internet possible to the point of it influencing where I bought my house. Yes this was a business decision over video games but the point remains.

  • Nice! On that note, any update on the ancient promises made regarding PS1 and PS2 games on the platform? It was the main reason I looked into the service in the first place.

  • Stop sony do not do this. This is not good for the community.

  • I don’t get why you would want to stream a PS4 game on a PS4. I would just rent from Gamefly if I wanted to play games I don’t have and don’t plan on purchasing. I can only see a benefit if they have streaming for some of the digital-only titles.

    • Stop with them fanboy comments and be a gamer lol I know you love your plastic wars , but that now is officially over ..let others enjoy them on other platforms also maybe eventually will come to Scorpio also

    • I just bought a PS4 Pro. So yes, I am very much a fanboy! I do agree that it would be nice to see the same games on every console though.

    • @the_man, dude first they announced a beefier version of the pro and the only appeal to it was it could play exclusives way better than the based ps4 and this means we wasted our money when we didn’t have too since Sony made it seem like PlayStation was the only way to play these games. And you’re telling us to stop with our fanboy attitude? Go spend 400 bucks on the pro then come back and tell me you don’t have a reason to feel stupid after a pro purchase.

  • Seeing how PSNow is no longer supported on the VIta, I hope Sony plans of doing an Xperia Play 2 or something that lets us stream or WiFi on the go.

  • WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? so you not understand what’s happening here? the ps4 is doing AMAZING, WHY??? because of EXCLUSIVE GAMES, do you understand what EXCLUSIVE MEANS??? how could you do this??? you destroyed everything that you built since 2013 with the ps4, everything the ps4 was, it’s OVER NOW, PlayStation Now??? more like PlayStation 4 OVER NOW, you’re going to destroy the momentum of the ps4, as a day 1 owner who bought over 100 games for the ps4 i won’t support you anymore, i’ll just get a good gaming pc and be done with it, and no, i’ll not even use PSNOW on my pc, i’m done with you Sony, i’ll just get the games i like on MY PC NOW, yeah, PC NOW

    • lol, that logic.

Why don’t you wait until full details are released before you chicken little all over the place.

All they said was PS4 games. You don’t know if exclusives will come to PSNow. You don’t know when they will come, if they do. It could be a year or more before an console exclusive game even makes it to PSNow…..Also PSNow doesn’t include multiplayer, so that is only half of some games anyway.

The best experience for a Sony exclusive is and will be on the console itself, nothing is going to change that with PSNow.

    • @KidCommando
“You don’t know if exclusives will come to PSNow.”
is the last of us, uncharted, killzone, god of war etc. for the ps3 on psnow? yeah? then so will be ps4 exclusives
“You don’t know when they will come”
doesn’t matter when, it matters that they do
      “Also PSNow doesn’t include multiplayer”
yes it does, psnow has coop and multiplayer ps3 games, it has dlc, it has everything a console has
“The best experience for a Sony exclusive is and will be on the console itself, nothing is going to change that with PSNow.”
not if you have a ps4 slim and the streaming on psnow is done from a ps4 pro or for all we know it may be done from some ps10 prototype supercomputer that will have the games better than pc/ps4 pro

  • Disappointing period. SONY should do better for backward compatibility in the near future.

  • This is awesome for anyone who wants to try PS3 and PS4 games. I think though if people want to download the game, that’s what the PS Store is for.

  • Cool, more reason to game full time on my PC and sell my consoles.

  • Sony, please I urge you to not make top PS4 exclusives like TLoU Remastered, Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Horizon, Infamous Second Son, Until Dawn, DriveClub, Ratchet & Clank, Street Fighter V and so on available on the PC. That would be a huge mistake and erode the PS4’s unique competitive advantage as a gaming platform. Don’t make the same mistake that Xbox has done. Xbox is a less exciting platform now that its former exclusives are available elsewhere. Consoles ARE in competition with the PC, there is significant overlap between the audiences. You must know this, isn’t that why you made the PS4 Pro, to keep tech-minded gamers on Playstation.

  • BTW if SONY going to proceed with this lame ps now I’m out back to next Xbox or going pC once and for all (don’t be greedy SONY fans are paying digtal download purchased and ps+ isn’t it enough revenue for u?)

    • There is no please and you keep at till your breath turns blue , stop with the fanboy attitude this was due to happen long time ago .It is the best decision ever made

Other gamers now have no reason to buy a PS4 or Pro as they might be PC gamers , I think Sony should bring PSNnow to other platforms including Scorpio that will be awesome Xbox guys playing PS4 games on their console

  • PlayStation has no real exclusives now like xbox 1 lol

    • It’s getting close to that point. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though. It just forces console makes to really step up their game. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could buy the console you prefer without having to worry about exclusives?

    • Whoops….console makers*.

  • PS Now isn’t an option for me given my internet speeds. For now I’ll settle for backwards compatibility, c’mon Sony!

  • One less reason to buy a PS4. I thought Microsoft was the only one dumb enough for bring all of their exclusive to PC.

  • I’m still waiting for the whole “Play a newly purchased game via streaming while it download in the background” promise………

  • Thanks for that big “f you” PlayStation. I only got your console cause of the games I “couldn’t” play anywhere else but thanks a lot now I can tell my self I’m an idiot for purchasing a pro when my ****** laptop can play them games cause it’s all based a good connection anyway. So much for wanting to “keep gamers” from pc. Well this will be my last console so f you too.

  • Wait what happened to the PS2 & PS1 games. Sony, I have a PS4 and PS4Pro. I don’t need another way to play PS4 games. I really want a way to play PS2 and older games.

  • Wow this is huge news! but there has only been one major issue the on and off $99 deal. So many times I have told people, oh you can just pay the $99 and get the whole year that’s under $10 a month. then they say there is no deal. The deal was always taken down by the time they went to sign up

  • Not sure how much I like this move. Would’ve preferred if the announcement was ps2 games on ps now

  • I have been a loyal PlayStation gamer since PSOne but this is how you repay us Sony?
We invested on your hardware and software to make you do good stuff and now you betray us?

  • PS Now should be included in PS Plus… for the same price it is now, not more.

  • If it means I can play Bloodborne on PC soon, great!

  • PS4 games on PC?!
Sony did you just became like Nintendo by stabbing us on the back for money?
Where is your pride and honor!?
    Cut it out Sony!

  • Lol everyone crying over consoles dying. What matters are the games not where or how you play them. I’m sure that the PS4 games added to the service won’t be day one digital and they won’t come in droves either. Maybe 1-3 added each month. I can see infamous Second Son or Knack being one of the first titles to be added to the service. My question is, how to I ensure my communications settings allow me to receive Sony’s email? I’m subscribed to PS Now and am keen to get the email to try out the PS4 game expansion.

  • This should have been an announcement alongside the announcement of the ps5.
Your focus should have been on ps1/2 games right now.
(as promised when the service was first introduced)
This reeks of a knee jerk reaction to Microsofts service and feels like a very poor decision to make right now.
I honestly see psnow being more worthless then I did a month ago before the changes.

  • When can us Mac users expect to be able to play ps now games on our laptops? Would love for it to happen soon. Have been waiting forever since the PC launch..

  • I’m sorry, but this is wrong.

Sony are pushing for streaming for the same reason why M$ pushed for their DRM and kinect policies; to have more control on us.

If we don’t own the games, then that gives sony more control and puts them in power position where they can dictate how, when and how much we can play.

No more selling used copies for us, no more extra costs for storage and shipping, and no more middlemen like retailers that will get a cut from their pie.

I can’t support this unethical business practice. I’m out. The PS4 will be my last if this doesn’t stop.

    • well, there’s a way to stop it, just don’t rent games, i’m sure people won’t use this over a console unless they have that silly PC pride, well, this service is for them, i would never rent it, and most of us think this way, it’s good to have options, and i’m happy for those that wants to play PS4 games on their PCs. Us? well, we want to play it on our consoles, i don’t think that’s going to change. Options are good.
