If you’re already a PlayStation Plus member on PS3, you’re in luck—you will automatically be able to also enjoy all the PlayStation Plus features for your PS Vita at no extra cost.

PlayStation Plus features for PS Vita available in November will include:

• Instant Game Collection: Unlimited access to a regularly refreshed selection of the full versions of games as long as your membership is active.
• Discounts: Take advantage of exclusive discounts on games and DLC for your PS Vita.
• Online Game Storage: An additional 1GB of online storage for game saves for PS Vita games and downloaded content.
• Automatic Updates: PS Vita will automatically start up at a designated time to download and install select game demos and game updates as well as system software updates and start standby mode upon completion.
• Automatic Trophy sync: Trophy information will be synched to PSN servers automatically via the PS Vita.

If you don’t yet own a PS Vita, there has never been a better time to invest in the most powerful portable entertainment system. Today, I’m happy to share the news that was announced at Gamescom: PlayStation Plus is coming to PS Vita this year, and Online Game Saves are getting a giant upgrade in September.

We will also deliver PlayStation Plus, which is currently available for PS3 users, to PS Vita users this year. By purchasing a membership to PlayStation Plus, PS Vita users will be able to enjoy various services which will become available exclusively for members.

Additionally, we’re upgrading Online Game Save Storage. Previously, Online Game Saves offered up to 150MB of game save data storage in the cloud for PlayStation 3. With this update, Plus members will get to store up to 1GB of game save data. This means you’ll never have to worry about running out of space for your game save files!

Seems like we were just watching David Freese and the St. Louis Cardinals make a dramatic comeback to beat the Texas Rangers in 7 games to win the 2011 World Series. And now, here we are, standing in the on-deck circle of the 2012 season waiting to see who will step up and lead their teams into the playoffs and become this year’s World Series hero.

And, just in time for the opening series games between the Athletics and Mariners in Tokyo, all the Major League Baseball action can once again be watched with the new 2012 MLB.TV application for the PS3, now available on PSN.

Just like last season, the MLB.TV app gives you access to high-quality HD, live and archived games, home and away broadcasts, as well as an array of interactive features designed to take advantage of the PS3 system’s technical prowess. If you’re a MLB.TV Premium subscriber, you can access all available Spring Training games.

Back in January we announced that PlayMemories Studio was headed to the PS3 this spring and today it becomes available to all of you through the PlayStation Store. The new service is part of Sony’s PlayMemories suite, which helps you edit and share your high quality videos and photos on a variety of devices. You can also use PlayMemories Studio with your PlayStation Vita or PSP via Remote Play.

This new download allows you to fully manage your photos and videos straight from your PS3:

Organizing & Viewing: In addition to the videos and photos you store on your PS3, the content you store on cameras, external hard drives and USB storage devices can be viewed without transferring all of it to your PS3. PlayMemories Studio also allows you to easily search and sort the content by date or location.

Editing: You can use action tags to add visual and sound effects, such as slow motion or frame-by-frame playback, to images. You can also insert captions and scripts to them.

Sharing: You’re able to upload your photos and videos to other online sites such as Facebook and PlayMemories Online (when it launches next month).

You can purchase PlayMemories Studio in the PlayStation Store later today in the Media & Apps category for $15.00. If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber or you’ve purchase a Sony camera or camcorder recently, you can download the app for free. There is also a 30-day trial version of PlayMemories Studio, available for you to check out.

Through the XOS College Sports and SEC Digital Network applications, PS3 users now have access to a customizable college sports platform to stream current and classic content on-demand, and make the PS3 the first and only gaming console to offer these applications. The new applications give fans multi-sport, multi-conference access to full games and historic documentaries along with the ability to play, pause and replay your favorite moments from some of the most watched games in history.

Additional features of the XOS Digital college sports apps for the PS3 include:

• Pre-game analysis from the XOS Digital Studio during the week
• Post-game highlights immediately after the game as well as a “Game of the Week” extended highlight
• Full games are available to purchase and watch the next day
