With great new PSN Games, the return of two PlayStation legends, great new PS3 Full Games and a stellar February kick-off for PlayStation Plus subscribers; there’s a lot to love with today’s update.

New PSN Games hitting this week include Gotham City Impostors. Bringing a new style of multiplayer mayhem with a tongue-in-cheek Gotham City style, you’ll want to see what the players in the Beta have been raving about. In addition, side-scrolling action comes in two flavors this week. For brutal combat action, you’ll want to check out Shank 2. For classic four-player co-op beat em ‘ups, download The Simpsons Arcade Game.

It’s also a big week for PlayStation legends Jak and Daxter. Not one, not two, but three of their original adventures are hitting the PlayStation Store today! And the best part? These classic PlayStation 2 games have been remastered in HD along with stereoscopic 3D functionality and new Trophy support! Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II and Jak 3 are now available individually, or grab them as a bundle at a lower price.

As mentioned earlier today, brand-new DLC is hitting UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception including the Fort Co-Op Adventure. This DLC will mark the first time in the series you’ll be able to play co-op as the UNCHARTED villains with Zoran Lazarević, Eddy Raja, Harry Flynn joining forces in a tale that further explores the mystery behind the Janus head statue from the on-disc co-op adventure. It, as well as additional DLC, arrives today and is available individually, or as part of Fortune Hunters’ Club.

New PS3 Full Games arriving today include the twisted puzzle tale Catherine, as well as the fun for all ages Top Spin 4 and Lego Pirates Of The Caribbean. These titles represent some of the best experiences previously only found at retail; now available to download. PlayStation Plus subscribers are also able to download a free one hour trial of Catherine and Lego Pirates Of The Caribbean as part of their subscription.

Speaking of PlayStation Plus, today kicks off February’s month of free games, discounts, and exclusives. For one, the aforementioned The Simpsons Arcade Game is now free for subscribers! Recent PS one Classic release Final Fantasy V is also free to download. First and free access to this episode’s Qore, as well as free downloads of PS minis Hungry Giraffe and Gold Medalist round out this week’s Plus updates, with more fun to come throughout the month.

The Tester Season 3 Episode 1

You may have seen EA’s news predicting the Super Bowl winners with Madden NFL 12. If you haven’t picked up this year’s edition yet, you can set up your own Super Bowl match yourself as it’s now available in the PS3 Full Games category. Joining it is also Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, its predecessor Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, and Mini Ninjas. PlayStation Plus subscribers will have access to a 1 hour rental of all of these via Full Game Trials as well.

Twisted Metal fans; the big day is almost here. Although you won’t be able to buy the game until February 14th, the demo is now available to download! Get your hands on the new online multiplayer experience in classic Free for All or the all-new Nuke mode. In other demo news, Syndicate is also now available to try via a 4 player co-op demo.

Since the new PlayStation Plus content for February, announced earlier today, won’t be hitting until next week, this week is your last chance to get some of January’s free content like Back To The Future: The Game – Full Series, PS one Classics Syphon Filter 1-3, and PSN Game Sword and Soldiers. But with January’s final update for Plus subscribers, there’s plenty of new Full Game Trials as well as some great new free Avatars and Themes. Check out the Abstract Art theme in particular.

It’s a release of great new content on PlayStation Store, including new games and some amazing first looks at some of 2012’s most anticipated titles!

Today, we complete the Final Fantasy PS one Classics presence with the release of Final Fantasy Origins. See the roots of the Final Fantasy series with this collection, which includes Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II. This month’s spotlight free PSN Game is none other than Telltale’s Back to the Future The Game – Full Series. All of the episodes from this acclaimed adventure game are available for you to download starting with the January 3rd PlayStation Store update. We’re also including PSN Game Sword and Soldiers with tomorrow’s update. This side-scrolling strategy game lets you control an entire army while wielding devastating magical abilities.

Free PS one Classics make their rounds this month in the form of the original Syphon Filter games. Syphon Filter 1, 2 and 3 will be available free, for the entire month starting also with the next Store update.

The PlayStation Store regularly holds events and sales for all PSN members throughout the year, and Plus always gives an extra leg-up in taking advantage of these sales. This month is no different as we’re gearing up to launch our 12 for ’12 sale. 12 PSN Games to kick of 2012 will be on sale for one week starting Jan 17th. We can’t reveal what the games are just yet, but if you love PSN games, you’re going to see a lot of great first-time sales on titles and get them 50% off with PlayStation Plus.

You’ll find plenty more in the way of discounts this month on standout titles like Crysis, Burnout Crash!, Gatling Gears and more. New PSN Games this week include All Zombies Must Die. This twin-stick shooter is taken to lofty new heights with a bevy of RPG features, four player co-op and optional PlayStation Move support. You’ll also want to check out Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD. This remake of the influential original puts you in the shoes of the High Plains Drifter with an all new coat of paint that you won’t want to miss.

The Splinter Cell HD Collection released earlier this year, but it’s now broken up into individual games. Want to pick up only one title in the trilogy? Now you can. The original Trilogy bundle is of course, still available, and may stand as the better deal should you wish to purchase all three.

Two great new additions in the PS3 Full Game category are also arriving this week. For an amazing gaming experience for all ages, you can now download Carnival Island, playable with PlayStation Move. Packed with a ton of great games and activities, you’ll be amazed how it uses the Move controller to create an entirely new sense of immersion. Motorstorm Apocalypse arrives as well, where you’ll race in an almost completely abandoned city that offers the perfect playground for MotorStorm’s electric brand of brutal street racing.
