In anticipation of this momentous event, we’ve created a brand new trailer to deliver all the details you’ll need in order to stride confidently in the daunting shoes of Captain Edward Kenway. We’ve got a bunch of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag announcements for you this week, PlayStation Assassins! Let’s get right to it with the announcement of our single-player DLC: Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag: Freedom Cry.
Pirates were a lot of things, but above all, they were ruthless opportunists on the hunt for plunder, booty, fortune… call it whatever you want – Captain Edward Kenway calls it an end to be reached, by any means necessary. With the acquisition of riches his paramount goal, Edward assembles a group of like-minded renegades to take the West Indies for all they’re worth. Watch the video below for a quick peek at how Kenway organizes a world-class pirate heist!
We’re introducing a full crew of rowdy yet realistic buccaneers, privateers and straight-up pirates in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, so we figured you would benefit from a little face-time with the roughest of them. And who better to cry them out for you than Captain Edward Kenway himself, played by the talented Matt Ryan.
A lot of people have asked us what kinds of technical advancements can be expected from Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag on PS4, so we asked Associate Producer Sylvain Trottier to give us a couple of examples… He went a little nuts, and delivered an entire video detailing a ton of improvements.
Starring our first ever female playable assassin, Aveline de Grandpré, Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation has received a comprehensive overhaul in preparation for its debut on PS3. Aveline has quickly become a fan favorite within the Assassin’s Creed universe, and we’re excited to bring her machete-swinging, poison-dart blowpiping, whip-snapping, and pistol-wielding action to a broader audience.
Game Director Ashraf Ismail takes you on a stealthy tour through underwater caverns and the Spanish city of Havana in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. In the following video, you’ll get a tiny glimpse of the stealthy new skills we’ve included in Black Flag, which enable Edward Kenway to slip in and out of assassination contracts while causing minimal commotion.
Edward Kenway set out to earn his fortune in the West Indies, but you’ll see first-hand how he (like so many other sailors of his day) turned to a much more brutal, ruthless and lucrative life in Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. We’re very pleased to deliver yet another glimpse into this world and further define our vision of The Golden Age of Pirates with this new gameplay trailer!
