We officially introduced “Where the Greatest Play” at E3 with a gaming inspired mural, which was painted throughout the week. We asked you to vote for your favorite PlayStation character to be the flag bearer in our gamer masterpiece and you chose the legendary Nathan Drake. I’m excited to announce that PlayStation is now the Official Gaming Partner of Top Rank Boxing, the world’s leading boxing promotions company. As a part of this new partnership, the PlayStation brand will be featured front and center during several premier Top Rank events that will be broadcast live on Pay-Per-View, HBO and Unimas (a part of the Univision Network).
In just under a month from now we’ll launch one of the most anticipated games of the year — inFAMOUS Second Son on PS4. To fuel the growing excitement for the March 21st launch date, we worked closely with Sucker Punch Productions to create an adrenaline-fueled gameplay spot that dives into the defiant attitude of the game, combining both music and industrial superpowers.
It’s hard to believe that PS Plus is nearly four years old. Since its launch, we’ve continued to add benefits, including our wildly popular Instant Game Collection, deep game discounts, cloud storage and online multiplayer on PS4. We’ve continued to up the ante with recent Instant Game Collection offerings such as Game of the Year nominee BioShock Infinite, PS3 action epic DmC, headspinning PS Vita adventure Gravity Rush, and most recently, PS4 favorites Resogun and Outlast.
It’s now clear that the launch of PS4 is one for the record books. This afternoon we learned from market research firm NPD Group that PS4 was the top-selling console for November and PlayStation was #1 in sales overall for home consoles. This news comes on the heels of yesterday’s confirmation that the PS4 launch is the biggest ever in the history of game consoles. Ever! And it’s all thanks to you.
