Atlas Genius – When It Was Now
After Gotye’s massive breakthrough last year, the next to carry the torch for Australia is Atlas Genius. While “Somebody That I Used to Know,” was a slow-jam anomaly, Atlas Genius’ smash track “Trojans,” is an upbeat, infectious, perfect song. Their pop rock sensibilities (think Walk the Moon) coupled with big, booming moments (think Imagine Dragons) is a recipe for a multi-single success story.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, a screaming, thrashing, mosh-pitting fourth album from metal stalwarts Bullet for my Valentine for you and your loved one. The UK-based band has been cranking through the scene since 2005 and have shared the stage with the likes of Rob Zombie, Avenged Sevenfold and as part of tours like Taste of Chaos. The band kicks off their exhaustive tour on Thursday (of course) in Orlando, travelling through Australia’s Soundwave Festival and all across the globe, winding down at the end of June in Sweden.

Great news today from Music Unlimited – the 18 million song streaming service wired directly to your PlayStation devices. We’ve heard your requests for more dedicated genre stations and are excited to release the Game Music channel. Listen to an archive of game soundtracks, from massive blockbusters to cult classics including Assassins Creed, Silent Hill, Prince of Persia, Final Fantasy and Castlevania among others. New songs will be added weekly to keep the channel fresh with music from all the latest games.

Mumford & Sons – The Road to Red Rocks
The globe-trotting Brits are back, just a few months after the colossal release of their sophomore album, Babel. The band unveiled footage of their August 2012 performance at the famous Colorado venue in their video for “I Will Wait,” and have since released a documentary/concert film about the show that was the calm before the Babel storm.

Justin Bieber – Believe Acoustic
JBiebs has been riding a runaway train of success before he even hit 18, hitting platinum success across multiple countries and a staggering following of Beliebers who have helped him dominate most major music conversations. Amidst the whirlwind of the 2011 release of Believe, he managed to slow it down a bit and record acoustic versions of some of the album’s biggest tracks.

Trapt – Reborn
The dust has settled a bit after two major departures from Trapt, drummer Aaron “Monty” Montgomery and Rob Torres. While Reborn features Torres for the last time, lead singer Chris Taylor Brown took on the lion’s share of guitar work on top of his regular duties, which includes producing the album. The band has chugged along since their breakout single, “Headstrong,” and in spite of the shifts of these members and others, they’ve managed to be “reborn” all the way to this, their 5th album. Trapt kicked off their tour late last week and will end in Upstate New York on February 10th.

A$AP Rocky – LONG.LIVE.A$AP
As the first major release and ringleader of the A$AP Mob, A$AP Rocky is burning a path for the rest of his collective with a dynamic debut that even has the hipsters at Pitchfork singing its praises. As opposed to wading through the waters of the music industry on his own, A$AP Rocky’s collective have made him a far bigger brand than he would be by himself, with the music to back it up. While the quality of a name like Drake on “F**kin’ Problems” is a plus, is the quantity of fellow buzzworthy artists – Kendrick Lamar, Santigold, Skrillex, 2 Chainz, Schoolboy Q, etc. – is what sets this album apart as a calling card for the new class of hip-hop royalty.

Dropkick Murphys – SIGNED and SEALED in BLOOD
It’s lucky number 8’s for Dropkick Murphys, as their eighth studio album hits on the 8th of January, one of the first major releases of 2013. The punk rock stalwarts are a definitive brand in the genre and after 2010’s concept album, Going Out in Style, fans are given the classic Dropkick sound with this latest effort.
