All great racers started their journey to greatness with their first car. The car that made them realize their dream of becoming a professional race car driver. You ask any driver or car enthusiasts about their First Love, and I’m sure they can remember the smallest detail, down to the long hours spent tuning the car up before a drive, or the thousands of hard earned dollars spent in making it just a bit (or a lot) faster than what factory delivered. I’m sure each of you have your own story of a First Love, and we want to hear about it.
With two short weeks away from the launch of GT6, we are excited to unveil the first Vision GT project – the Mercedes- Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo, made specifically for everyone to virtually experience on 12/6.
This past Wednesday night, the Gran Turismo Awards put on its 11th annual award ceremony at the Haze Nightclub inside the Aria in Las Vegas, Nevada. Held during the SEMA Show, the 2013 GT Awards sought to find the best cars from five different categories (Best Truck or SUV, Hot Rod, Domestic Automobile, Asian Import, and European Import) by calling on experts from the automotive media and industry tastemakers.
Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi was present today at the 2013 Brazil Game Show Press Conference with President of Ayrton Senna Institute (NGO) Viviane Senna (sister to the legendary F1 driver), to officially announce a long-term partnership with the Gran Turismo series.
Earlier this year, we officially announced the infamous training ground of GT Academy, Silverstone Circuit, will be available in GT6. Staying true to the global driving experience of GT, we are proud to announce the addition of the Bathurst Circuit (Australia).
As you know, we are celebrating the 15th Year Anniversary of Gran Turismo & as part of that, we’ve put together a documentary called KAZ: Pushing the Virtual Divide. This film is about drive. It’s about the passion and creative drive of Kazunori Yamauchi, the architect behind Gran Turismo’s birth and breath-taking fifteen-year evolution. This film will trace his relentless willingness to challenge himself, to hold none of his past achievements sacred, and push beyond the virtual divide in his pursuit of perfection.
Polyphony Digital has announced a unique partnership with a number of leading automotive manufacturers and design teams from Alfa Romeo, Alpine, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Bertone, GM Design, Honda, Infiniti, Italdesign Giugiaro, JORDAN Brand, Mercedes-Benz, Nike, Nissan, Peugeot, SRT(Chrysler), Volkswagen and Zagato will create concept models giving a unique insight into the future of the automotive sector. Their designs will then be recreated as working cars for GT6.
