I think the best way to start off any new month is with two free PlayStation Plus games. For March we have Dead Nation: Apocalpyse Edition for your PlayStation 4 and Tomb Raider for your PlayStation 3. If you’re unfamiliar with the original Dead Nation, it’s a top-down twin-stick shooter that’s best experienced with a friend. Make sure you’ve got a strategy and plenty of items before you head out to take down hordes of zombies. The Apocalypse Edition was just announced last week, will be hitting PlayStation Store tomorrow, and it has some interesting benefits like an interactive live streaming option.
Let’s take a look at what you’re going to get in March with your PlayStation Plus membership. To start, PlayStation 4 owners can enjoy the Apocalypse Edition of the critically acclaimed PS3 twin-stick zombie shooter, Dead Nation. The PS4 version includes updated visuals and controls, as well as a sweet interactive broadcast mode, so hit that “Share” button when you start playing!
One of the most adorable kart racers around is entering the PS Plus Instant Game Collection tomorrow: ModNation Racers: Road Trip for PS Vita. Customization is the name of the game here, and you’ll be able to modify your character, kart and even edit tracks easily with the PS Vita’s touch screen. Best of all, if you enjoyed ModNation Racers on PS3, you’ll be able to download your creations and use them in ModNation Racers: Road Trip.
We’ve got a one-two punch for PlayStation Plus members tomorrow, when Remember Me (PS3) and Street Fighter x Tekken (PS Vita) join the Instant Game Collection. In Remember Me, you’ll create your own combos via the Pressen system, wherein successful attacks can heal you, lower your cooldowns or dish out extra damage. Your ultimate goal: take down an evil corporation that’s corrupting the minds and memories of the citizens of Neo-Paris.
Heads up, PlayStation Plus members. It’s time for some serious shenanigans – Payday 2 is coming to the Instant Game Collection tomorrow. Team up with your friends to pull off a variety of heists, like robbing a convenience store or taking down a major bank vault. Completing these virtual crimes will net you both experience points to build out your character’s skill tree and cash to purchase new weapons and other goodies. For PS Vita owners, our final PS Vita PLAY title, TxK, will be available tomorrow at a discounted rate.
We’re kicking off February with a little something for everyone, regardless of what PlayStation console(s) you own. PS4 owners can give themselves a good scare by nabbing Outlast, a survival horror game where you’ll play as a freelance journalist investigating a psychiatric hospital. Not really a job I’d take, but hey, times are tough. There’s no fighting back in Outlast, you can climb or hide, and that’s it, so proceed with caution. If you’re a PS3 owner, you’ll be able to explore post-apocalyptic Russia in Metro: Last Light. A first-person shooter with the option to be stealthy, your decisions throughout the game will impact the story’s outcome. Finally, our PS Vita Play sale also continues this week with Dustforce, which you can grab for $7.99.
If you’ve ever wondered how your intelligence stacks up against your friends and other people around the world, Smart As will give you a pretty good idea. Just prepare yourself… the results might not be pretty at first. That’s what Smart As is all about though – not just finding out where you stand, but training every day to get a little better.
