Last year, Dyad hit the gaming scene and stunned critics with its colorful visual palette and psychedelic soundtrack. Seemingly simple to start, Dyad builds on core mechanics gradually, allowing you just enough time to get the hang of things before teaching you something new to master.
Borderlands 2, one of 2012’s most critically acclaimed titles, is entering the Instant Game Collection tomorrow. Pick one of four new vault hunters (I went with Maya the Siren) and grab your randomly generated weapon, ‘cause a pesky psychopath called Handsome Jack is terrorizing the world of Pandora (but hey, he does it in style). Borderlands 2 excels in co-op mode, so team up with up some friends to explore the land.
Hop in to the driver’s seat with GRID 2 on PS3, coming to you free for PS Plus members to kick off the month of December. In addition to GRID 2, you’ll also note the start of the PlayStation Store Holiday Sale! The first week brings in some of this year’s best titles including Ni No Kuni, Remember Me, and Terraria; all at really really good prices.
You can hop into Borderlands 2 for free later this month on PS3, and this game absolutely shines with co-op, so be sure to bring some buddies along with you while you blast away all the skags on Pandora. You can build out your vault hunter how you like – focus on damage or get some support skills to aid yourself & your friends.
One of the most critically acclaimed PS Vita titles, Soul Sacrifice, is now available in the Instant Game Collection. Created by Keiji Inafune, this action RPG pits you against an evil sorcerer. The question is, how are you going to defeat him when you’re locked up in a fleshy cage? A talking book named Librom is the answer. Librom will transport you back to past events, also known as Phantom Quests, so you can train and develop your power. The game really shines with its “save or sacrifice” combat mechanics, where you’ll need to make key decisions about what you need most, or choose to unleash a devastating black rite spell by destroying part of your body.
Chances are, if you picked up a PlayStation 4 last week you’re still enjoying our PS4 PlayStation Plus titles, RESOGUN and Contrast, and that’s totally cool. However, if you’re anxiously waiting for your PS4 to arrive later this holiday season, we’ve got you covered with a new PlayStation 3 and PS Vita game this week. Binary Domain, a futuristic third-person squad-based shooter, is hitting the PS3 Instant Game Collection tomorrow. Morality meets gunfire, Binary Domain’s Consequences System means you’ll need to be aware of your actions – how your squad views you can impact the game as well as how the storyline progresses.
PlayStation 4 is only a work week away! Once a shiny new PS4 is acquired, PS Plus members will be able to download both Contrast and RESOGUN for free. RESOGUN is an intense new shoot-em-up from Housemarque, the talented folks behind Super Stardust, Outland and Dead Nation.
We’re kicking off this month’s PlayStation Plus freebies with Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. This vast role playing game includes the original title with a few key changes like fast-travel. If you’re unfamiliar with the franchise, it allows you to fight massive creatures (and some of them you can even climb on), hire specialized friends (also known as pawns) to help you in combat, all while exploring an expansive world with a new region, Bitterblack Island, thanks to the Dark Arisen expansion.
