Hello everyone! Today, I would like to share our brand new trailer for Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention for the PlayStation Vita system. Disgaea 3 for the PS Vita will be released in April. We are really excited about Disgaea 3 coming out on the PS Vita over here. Yes, it is a port of the PlayStation 3 version, but it will be equipped with new character stories, new systems, new attack levels, new bosses, and will include all the DLC that was released for the PS3 version, all on one card. So even if you have already played Disgaea 3 on the PS3 system, you’ll have something new to experience with this PS Vita version!

Of course, there will be some PS Vita specific systems integrated into the game, as well. For example, there is a system called “Honor Quotient,” which uses the GPS to track how far you’ve traveled while playing the game. The more you travel, the higher your Honor Quotient will rise (you’ll be able to increase your Honor Quotient by winning battles, increasing your total play time, and by other means as well).

With a high Honor Quotient, you will be able to gain more experience points, Mana points, get discounts at item shops, etc. So, don’t forget to take your PS Vita with you wherever you go! Also, with the rear touch panel, you can view the map from any angle. It sometimes gets really crowded and busy on the map, but with this camera angle control, you’ll be able to see your map much easier.

Let’s talk about the new characters for Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention. You’ll be introduced to two new characters, Rutile and Stella. Rutile is half-Nekomata, half-human. She was raised in the Human World, so she doesn’t really know much about the Netherworld. She enters Evil Academy as a transfer student. The other character is Stella, who is the student body president and daughter of the dean of the rival school, Death Institute, Majin Academy. She is a snobby rich girl, but she also loves playing tricks on others. She loves elegance, and believes that everything she does is “elegant.” …We’ll see about that!

Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention will be jam-packed with new stuff! Please visit the official website for more information. And, now enjoy the official trailer of Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention!

Wow, it’s been a while since I visited you! I hope you’ve all been having a great summer. Today I want to talk about our upcoming titles, which include ClaDun x2, Atelier Totori, and Disgaea 4! I knew it would be a very busy summer for us at NIS America, but now that I think about it, we’ll be making you super busy, too! Well, hold tight, all the latest information is coming your way.

ClaDun x2 will be available only on PSN at the end of August. I don’t have the exact date just yet, but please look out for ClaDun x2 when it pops up on the PlayStation Store. You can also sign up for our Prinny Bomb newsletter at our website to get all of our announcements and news straight from us!

If you played ClaDun: This is an RPG, you might feel like this will be just another run-of-the-mill sequel. But don’t jump to conclusions too quickly! ClaDun x2 returns with tons more customization—more Magic Circles, more artifact types, more classes, more everything!

So how does this game work? Here’s a quick rundown: at its heart, ClaDun x2 is an action RPG. There are two parts to the gameplay; first comes the preparation, where you strategize your battle formation, then comes the dive into battle. Victory is heavily based on the preparations you make in your Base before you head into the dungeons. Customizing Magic Circles with your characters and artifacts, which boost your stats and grant different abilities, is the most crucial part of this game. Each character class has its own specialties and weaknesses, which you’ll have to take into consideration when forming your Magic Circle. When you’re ready, you can head into a dungeon to battle deadly enemies. As you go through the story and level up, you’ll gain more Magic Circles, more gear, and more artifacts! This may sound easy-breezy, but it will actually require a lot of strategy and thinking! Here are some screenshots from the Magic Circle system.

In ClaDun x2, there are 10 classes. Some of the new classes include the Swordmage, which strikes the perfect balance of spells and melee attacks, the Shaman, which is an expert magic user and wielder of powerful Magic Circles, and the Ninja, which excels at sneak attacks and even has a Magic Circle that allows them to fight alone in battle! There are more classes to discover, and as I mentioned above, each class has different abilities and specialties. I’m sure you’ll have a blast exploring them all!

ClaDun X2 has also gotten a major boost to its editing system. This time around, you can add facial expressions for when your character is walking, running, and even dying… Yes, sad I know, but it’s a pretty cool system. And of course, you can also customize your weapons, armor, and even background music. I hope you’ll all pick up the game when it releases on PSN and dip into this super addictive dungeon RPG! You can also check out our official website for more information!

Let’s talk about Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland! This is the highly anticipated sequel to Atelier Rorona, which was released in 2010. And here’s some good news for our Rorona fans out there; Rorona will return in Atelier Totori! Rorona appears as Totori’s teacher, and she’ll help Totori grow as an alchemist and become a great adventurer on Totori’s quest to find her mother. Supposedly, Rorona is a responsible, grown-up lady now, but I’ll leave the final judgment on that to you. Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland will be shipped to retailers on September 27th! The Premium Edition of Atelier Totori will come with a full-color art book and soundtrack!

Atelier Totori features a hugely expanded world map setting, and there are some new features as well. One of these new additions is the “Adventurer’s License” system. The higher Adventurer’s License rank you get, the more places and lands throughout Totori’s massive world you can unlock and explore. In order to get higher ranks, you’ll need to accumulate points by defeating strong monsters, helping the citizens of Arland with quests, creating rare items through synthesis, and so on. Your ultimate goal in the game is to help Totori find her missing mother, and this task will require you to explore the entire world of Atelier Totori. Dust off your adventurer’s hat, and get ready!

It sounds really exhausting to do all that by yourself, right? Not to worry! You can get up to five Homunculi to help you gather ingredients and synthesize items while you’re doing more important things out in the world. They’re very helpful, but they’ll need some extra time to synthesize at first. And in order for them to stay happy and healthy while they work, you’ll need to provide them with delicious pies. Yes, pies! But pie is a small price to pay for such great helpers, right? Here are some screenshots of your helper Chims (That’s how Totori calls them!) Ahhh, they’re so cute!

I know you guys can’t wait to get your hands on Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten! Very soon, your Disgaea needs will be fulfilled… Disgaea 4 will be shipped to retailers on September 6th! The Premium Edition of Disgaea 4 will come with a full-color art book and a Fuka figurine.

I’m sure you’ve all seen the trailer for Disgaea 4 already, but I wanted to post it here once again, in case anyone missed out. I think this trailer perfectly explains what Disgaea 4 is all about. “One copy in every home!” Ha ha ha Here you go!

So, Disgaea has returned with some awesome hi-res graphics. The adorable characters move around the map smooth as silk, and they flawlessly capture the illustrations of character artist Takehito Harada. When you think of Disgaea, one of the many elements that comes to mind is customization. In Disgaea 4, you can customize characters, items, special attacks, character personalities, battle voices, and more! Not to mention, you can rocket your characters up to level 9999! And your attack damage can go over 10,000,000,000!!! Oh my gosh, seriously!? Yeah, that’s pretty much how I reacted when I found out.

The game’s developer, Nippon Ichi Software, wanted you all to enjoy and focus on the gameplay, so they made sure that there would be no load times during battle. You also have the choice to skip the (incredibly awesome and hilarious) battle animations, as well as other shortcut options. Personally, I love the battle animations so I like to leave them on, but for those of you who want to just go go go, this is definitely a cool option to have!

The main story is all about friendship, promises, and love (gotta have that, right?) in the Netherworld! This time around, the story is based on political power and balance, so you get to have your own cabinet, influence the Senate, and so on. There are 10 chapters in the main story, along with multiple endings. Just playing through the main story is plenty satisfying, but NIS knows that no true Disgaea fan would be content if things ended there! So what did they do? They added even more stories for you to unlock after you finish the main story, of course! In these special stages, you will battle against more than 10 hidden bosses. These bosses are…just ridiculously dangerously powerful. The final boss in the main story is maybe level 100, but the hidden bosses are…well, I think you guys should find out on your own. But you’ll see lots of familiar faces, so it will be a treat! (I am sure some of you can already guess who they are…)

For those who really want to spend the next year or two, or three, with Disgaea 4, try to find items called Promotionhell Tickets, which you can use to unlock the X-Dimension. In this world, you’ll get to play some really super duper hard battle maps. Even if you clear the main story, these stages will still be challenging. So good luck!

There is so much more to talk about for Disgaea 4, but I think I’ve kept you here too long already. So I’d better get going, and hopefully I can come back again soon!

Happy Friday, dood! Oh my gosh, yeah, dood! We are releasing Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! for PSP on *UMD* and PSN this coming January!

Prinny 2 is a side scrolling hack-and-slash action game, and you can play as Prinny. Your mission this time is to find the precious panties of Demon Lord Etna! Yes, you have to search for Etna’s panties… or Etna swears that she will skin all Prinnies and make them into panties! Well, now that I think of it, Prinny panties would be kind of cool… but not for the Prinnies! You must find her panties by the following morning in the game, so you don’t have any time to dilly-dally! Let’s get to it, dood!

So, what’s new with Prinny 2 besides Etna’s panties? There are new skills, new stages, new story, and a bonus story with a new main character! We only have some screenshots to share this time, but I will be back here again in the near future to share more stuff with you guys. So please look forward to it!

We are launching the official Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! website today, so please check it out at www.NISAmerica.com! Also, we are cooking up some crazy fun campaigns for Prinny 2! All I can say about that right now is… it involves Etna’s panties… heh heh heh.

Before I let you go, I would like to introduce Ryan from NIS America. He joined our PR team recently, and he will be back here and talk to you guys more about Prinny 2!

Thank you for reading my post again. And I have to say… I am really sorry that I couldn’t reply to any of your comments on my post about Atelier Rorona. Today, I will reply to your comments though! Thank you, everyone! Have a great Friday and weekend, dood!

Hello ladies and gents! How have you guys been? I hope you all enjoyed the three-day weekend!

Today, I am excited to talk about Cladun: This is an RPG!… like we have to make sure you know it is an RPG… Hahaha! Anyway, as the subtitle states, it is an RPG, and it is also a classic dungeon crawler game.

There are nine characters, and each one of them can be played as a main character. Cladun’s key gameplay focus is team-work. Or, in other words, the Magic Circle. Let’s take a look at the Magic Circle here…

For this Magic Circle, the character in the center is the main character, Pudding. In a dungeon, you will see only Pudding whacking and slashing enemies, but actually you have all the other characters protecting you and fighting with you. There are more than 10 Magic Circles for each character. Each Magic Circle has different strengths and weaknesses, so depending on what kind of dungeon you are about to go in, you will want to take a moment and see which Magic Circle you should be using. Oh! So you see all these gemstones on the Magic Circle, right? These gemstones have specific attributes, for example, “DEF +3,” “ATK +5,” “SP +25” and so on. Each Magic Circle has different slots for those gemstones, so you want to take a close look at what they offer as well.

Below is another example of the Magic Circle. There are tons of options and choices, so take your time and explore the infinite possibilities! Oh, I cannot forget to mention there are different classes for characters, so depending on your character class, your magic skills, attributes and growth rate will differ. Lots to consider and strategize with!

I also want to talk about dungeons in Cladun. Each dungeon is randomly generated, so even if you go back to the same dungeon, you’ll have a different map every time. So there is no “memorizing” the map! Also, each dungeon has different types of traps and enemies. For example, when you go in a dungeon with fire element traps and enemies, you might want to choose a character and Magic Circle with fire-resistance attributes on them, so you will be well prepared for it! Shall we take a look at different types of dungeons here?

Also, I want to mention that Cladun comes with a multiplayer mode using the ad-hoc WiFi feature! You can play Cladun with up to four players. So hype up your friends about Cladun, and get Cladun on 9/21 together! :-)

Another cool feature in Cladun is that you can create your own characters and play as them. If you are not so into creating new characters, no worries, you can just edit the given characters however you like to!

Prinny, dood! Yeah, we had to have him, right? Also, here is what I created. It is “Fish Man”! Please don’t ask how it is “fish”… anyway… Have fun with “Pixel Editor” to create your own!

Thank you very much for reading my post once again. It is always fun to visit you all here! I will try to respond to your comments as soon as possible! Thank you guys! Check out more about Cladun on our official Cladun website!

P.S. In the very rare case you haven’t checked out our Cladun trailer… here you go! Enjoy the craziness! :-)

Hello everyone! NIS America just held our annual press event in San Francisco, and we’ve announced several new titles!

Let’s cut to the chase. Here are three titles we will be releasing in Fall 2010 and Spring 2011. First of all, Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel for the PlayStation 3 will be released in Spring of 2011! Nobody saw this coming, right? ;)

Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel is the final entry in the Ar tonelico series. There will still be song magic features, but the battle system has changed drastically. It is now an action-based battle system, and there is an eye popping twist to it as well… literally. You’ll be experiencing some edgy and kinky special moves the Ar tonelico girls pull off in this game! But we’ll talk about that a little later.

The game features all new characters with a new story, so even if you are new to the Ar tonelico series, you won’t have any problems getting into it! And if you have been a fan of the series… thank you for waiting patiently for this announcement! Ar tonelico Qoga will be released in Spring of 2011. Check out some of the Japanese screenshots until we have more to show!

Let’s move on to the next announcement. We will release two Nippon Ichi Software PSP titles in fall! They are… “Cladun: This is an RPG” and “Z.H.P. : Unlosing Ranger VS. Darkdeath Evilman”!

Cladun will be released only on PlayStation Network. It is a retro-looking dungeon crawler RPG with (almost) unlimited customization for your equipment, Magic Circle (character battle formation), character features, and even the last boss! The dungeons will randomly change all the time, so even if you re-visit a dungeon, the traps, enemies, dungeon map, and more will be different. It is a PSN-only title, but don’t underestimate its endless replay value! Check out the trailer below. Also, check back on www.nisamerica.com for the official Cladun website, which will launch around 5pm Pacific Time today!

Z.H.P. is NIS’s new strategy RPG. The ridiculously over-the-top story and characters make you feel right back in familiar NIS territory. The story goes something like this: The main character (you) is an ordinary shy young man. One day, walking on the street after getting some stuff from a convenience store, he witnesses a car accident! Oh no! The victim was the hero, the Unlosing Ranger, supposed to be at the Last Boss Battle to save the world… The hero asks the young man to take over his mission to save the world from the Last Boss, Darkdeath Evilman. Unable to refuse the hero’s last wish, the young man became the weakest, wimpiest main character ever in videogame history!!

Z.H.P. will be released this coming Fall on both PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Network! Check out the trailer to see how deep this game is!

I hope you are excited about our new titles! Lastly, I have something very exciting news for Atelier Rorona fans: We have decided to make a premium package including a hard cover art book. The game and art book will come in a premium box with Rorona artwork on it! Yay! Also, we launched the official website for Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland! Enjoy!

Hi everyone! I’m back to remind you that Trinity Universe will be shipped for the PS3 tomorrow!

After my last blog post, I received many positive comments regarding Trinity Universe from you all. I have to apologize that I haven’t been able to reply to every comment, but I gotta say I was so happy to hear that you are looking forward to Trinity Universe and Atelier Rorona!

When there are two main characters with their own stories, it is usually the case that one gets more attention. Kanata (the male character) has been getting more attention, I believe. So today, I want to talk about something special for other main character, Rizelea!

If you start with Rizelea’s story, you can utilize the Meteorite Workshop. Meteorites are cosmic stones and crystals that drift to the Netheruniverse. Well, they drift throughout space, so it isn’t just for the Netheruniverse. There are many different kinds and types of Meteorites, and you can strengthen your characters’ parameters by equipping them. Expand upon their natural strengths or compensate for their weaknesses — it’s up to you.

Equipping Meteorites on your Planetary Rings sometimes give you special effects, called Planetary Effects, such as regaining HP every battle turn, or nullifying certain elemental attacks — don’t underestimate Meteorites!

In order to utilize Meteorites, you will need to have various types of Mana and Souls. You can obtain Mana through battle when you use weapons with corresponding Managraphics. Souls are obtained by efficiently taking out different types of monsters. How you place the Meteorites determine what Planetary Effects you will receive. And here is one important tip: the closer you place Meteorites to the core of the Planetary Rings, the more effective that Meteorite will be. It’s important to strategically place your Meteorites.

There is more information on the official Trinity Universe website, so make sure to stop by. You’ll not only learn game information, but you can also get special Trinity Universe wallpapers and read comics. If you want to start your Monday with a little giggle, these comic strips will be perfect for that. :-)

Thank you again for reading my post. I hope you enjoyed it! P.S. NIS America will be having a booth at Anime Expo in Los Angeles! So if you are planning to visit there, make sure to visit booth #203! Hope to see you there!

Hello fantastico people! E3 was so intense – I hope you found the announcements exciting! I want to recap NIS America’s E3 2010 announcements with you guys: We showed Trinity Universe and Atelier Rorona on the show floor.

Trinity Universe will be released next week on June 29th. Trinity Universe has two main characters and two stories. It is a collaboration of NIS, Gust, and Idea Factory, so you get to play familiar characters – Etna, Flonne, and Prinny (of course!) from the Disgaea series and Pamela from Atelier – in one game. These characters are animated in the event scenes, so you can really see their expressions!

The battle system is also unique. You create special moves and skill attacks by pressing certain button sequences. Each character has different sequences for their moves, and you can combine with other characters to make far more damaging attacks. Check out the trailer to see more about Trinity Universe!

I know, I know – you want to know more about Atelier Rorona! Atelier Rorona is scheduled to be released this September.

Atelier Rorona is the first Atelier series game to hit the PS3. The game has field maps with 3D graphics and battle scenes with cell-shaded characters, and it looks fantastic. You have to see it with your own eyes, so check out this E3 trailer. It’s a very short teaser trailer, but you can see how good the characters look in the world of Atelier Rorona.

Let’s go over the story a bit. Arland is a small kingdom that used to have a small, poor population. It has prospered recently thanks to newly recovered technology called the machines. Thanks to the machines, the people of Arland are able to live more convenient lives. Within the kingdom, there is a small alchemy shop where Rorona works for the owner, Astrid. The shop used to be successful, but because of the machines and Astrid’s laziness, no customers have come to the shop in a while. One day, a messenger from the kingdom visits the shop and Astrid and Rorona are hit with a dose of harsh reality. They must prove the worth of alchemy by completing all of their assignments over the next three years, or the kingdom will shut down their workshop!

“You do it, Rorona,” said Astrid. Oh right, I forgot to mention that Astrid couldn’t care less about jumping through hoops for the kingdom, even though her workshop is at risk! Does Rorona have any choice but to take up these tasks to save the shop? Of course not! Rorona now has to work extra hard to keep the shop, and you must help Rorona gain the trust of the town people.

Meet Rorona and Astrid.

I’ll be back soon to show all of you some game footage. Oh, and a quick reminder that Disgaea Infinite is out on PSP and PSN. Explore the adventure novel genre with Disgaea characters!

It’s good to be back! I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of summer! So, it’s getting warmer and warmer out here, and we are all looking forward to outdoor activities, right? But not Badman! He fears that more Heroes are invading his kingdom, and are trying to take his peaceful kingdom away from him!

Today, May 4th, What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2 was released to retailers nationwide!!
Just like the original My Lord, this newly released My Lord 2 has lots of humor and American pop culture references! You can definitely expect to find yourself chuckling while playing it.

So, what’s new with this sequel, you may ask? You already know that there are more heroes and different kinds of monsters, right? Let’s talk about the new game systems!

First of all, the interface has been greatly improved, as you can see from the screenshot. The Monster Bar shown at the bottom of the screen tells you the ratio of monsters you have created in your dungeon. This will give you a better idea of which monsters you should focus on creating more of, or ones you might need to thin out. Remember, balance is the key! Also, the orange, bolded text shown on the top part of the screen are comments from the heroes. Some old wise man once said, “The annoyance of heroes makes annoying comments!” It’s so true! But don’t be distracted by it! The good thing is that you have the option to turn off the sliding text if you don’t want to see what the heroes are saying. The white text above the Monster Bar is “Heaven’s Voice.” It tells you when mutations occur or something else changes in the monsters’ habitat. The red square box in the bottom left corner is the “Live Camera,” which shows what the heroes and Badman are up to!

Let’s talk about “Badman’s Chamber,” shall we? “Badman’s Chamber” is a training ground of sorts for you. You can modify and customize your monsters and dungeon without being interrupted by the heroes. Here, you can observe and study how monsters grow, and how the ecosystem works. If you aren’t confident in taking up the roll of “God of Destruction,” you can always visit Badman’s Chamber to practice. If you want to have heroes stop by your dungeon, you can absolutely add heroes from the settings for Badman’s Chamber.

* You can modify your monsters too!

Oh, I have to mention the new feature, Dungeonquake! You will have to use quite a bit of Dig Power, but it will prevent mutations from happening, and it also destroys the heroes’ contraptions, such as Save Flags, Traps, etc.! When the Dungeonquake happens, heroes will be stunned for a little bit, so it can be very useful if your Overlord has a close encounter with the heroes.

Before closing, I would like to emphasize that the UMD version of What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2 will come with the original My Lord!? game, as bonus content! Visit the Official My Lord 2 website for the code to unlock the original game!

Hello all! I hope everyone here is doing well!

NIS America will release Last Rebellion in a couple of weeks for the PlayStation 3!

Let me go over the basic story of Last Rebellion first. Then I will go on to the battle system. I will be showing our first battle footage, so don’t forget to check that out too!

It takes place in a world called Jonovald, which is governed by two gods: Meiktilia who presides over the death of all people and the destruction of all things, and Formival who presides over the birth of all people and the creation of all things. Meiktilia blesses two types of people with special powers; Blades and Sealers. Blades have the skills to destroy the physical structure of things, and Sealers use magical abilities to destroy the metaphysical, the spiritual structure of things. The two main characters are Nine who is a Blade, and Aisha who is a Sealer.

Formival’s power allows all things to revive and when they do, they become a stronger threat to others. These undead creatures are called Belzeds. In order to destroy them, the power of both a Blade and Sealer is required.

Since Nine’s homeland, Lorvin, was becoming a nesting ground for Belzeds, the king of Lorvin (Nine’s father) summons Nine and Aisha to save the land.

Now, you’ll play as these two main characters. You control both characters operating out of a single body. Well, in short, they are two souls in the same body. You can switch between these two characters just about anytime you want while you’re on the field, as well as in battle. As mentioned above, in order to destroy Belzeds, you will need both Nine’s and Aisha’s power. You’ll have to use them wisely and in the correct order to successfully destroy Belzeds.

The battle system of Last Rebellion is quite unique. You’ll be able to switch between Nine and Aisha on the battlefield, and you will be asked to decide what actions you will take for each character. You will fight in turn based battles, so you’ll have time to strategize your actions!

When you attack the Belzeds, you will see lists of the enemies’ body parts. There is a correct order to attack each part. You’ll have to decide which body part to attack first, and by using CP, you can attack as many body parts as you can. When you attack their body parts in the correct order, you’ll do much more damage, so you’ll want to figure out the correct order for each enemy as soon as possible. Well, there is some information about the strengths of their body parts in the list, so it won’t just be “guess” work.

Once you decide the order of attacks and which skills to use, then you execute. When the enemy has been knocked down, you will have to use Aisha’s Seal skill to completely destroy its body. Otherwise, they will revive with even more power! Also, if you use Nine’s Absorb skill before sealing the body, you can absorb MP from that monster. This skill will come in handy if you need to regain MP!

It’ll be easier to understand once you see it, rather than reading about it, so check out the battle footage!

Here is some random stuff about Last Rebellion.

Nine and Aisha will share one body, so they will share HP and MP values as well. When you are using Nine to explore the field, MP will gradually recover, and when Aisha is on the field, HP will gradually recover. Switch between them as you need to.

Nippon Ichi Software was able to get some awesome guest illustrators, such as Mr. Mikimoto, who worked on Macross. These illustrations will be shown on the loading screens!

If you preorder Last Rebellion at RosenQueen.com you’ll receive a bonus double-sided poster, featuring some of the guest illustrators’ artwork! This is a pretty sweet deal, so I hope you are interested in it!

Last Rebellion will be released on February 23! That’s just around the corner, so until then, learn more about it on the Official Last Rebellion Website!

Thank you for reading my post again! Have a great day!

Best regards,
