PlayStation Network Regular Scheduled Maintenance

The PlayStation Network will undergo maintenance tonight, October 14. Maintenance is expected to start at 11pm Pacific and could last for several hours. During this time, some users won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store or account management, and may encounter some difficulty while signing in to PSN.

Stay tuned to the PlayStation Twitter feed for updates and a notice when the PSN is fully back online.

Update on PS3 Firmware 3.00

SCEA is aware of reports that PS3 owners are experiencing isolated issues with their PS3 system since installing the most recent system software update (v3.00). Rest assured that we are looking into the matter and will provide an update here as soon as possible. PlayStation Store Status Update

We’re aware that some of you may be experiencing difficulty accessing the PlayStation Store at this time. We have a dedicated team working on it now and will let you know as soon as things are back to normal for everyone, both here and on the PlayStation Twitter account. We thank you for your patience, and hope to have the Store up for everyone shortly.

UPDATE: The engineers have finished their maintenance, and applying the final tweaks. The Store should be functioning now as normal. Thanks again for your patience.

PlayStation Home Beta Update

We are aware that some people may be experiencing difficulty in accessing the PlayStation Home beta at present. This is due to overwhelming demand for the service as people access Home for the very first time since it became Open Beta and appeared on the XMB.

LittleBigPlanet Release Update

During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologize for any offense that this may have caused.

We will begin shipping LittleBigPlanet to retail in North America the week of October 27th. Sorry for the delay, and rest assured, we are doing everything we can to get LittleBigPlanet to you as soon as possible.

PlayStation Network Temporary Unscheduled Maintenance

UPDATE: The PSN is now back online. We’ll be updating the PlayStation Store shortly – keep your eyes on the PlayStation Blog for Grace’s Store Update post.

As some of you may have noticed, we’ve temporarily taken down some functions of PlayStation Network – specifically access to the PlayStation Store, account management and registration. Online gameplay will remain uninterrupted. We thank you for your patience and will report back here as soon as the Store and registration functions are back online.

Firmware v2.40 status

As has been reported on many gaming blogs and websites, we have temporarily taken Firmware v2.40 offline. We’ve received a limited number of calls from consumers experiencing an issue with installing the system software update on their PS3. While our consumer services department has seen a low volume of calls on this topic, we are committed to providing the PS3 community with XMB access features delivered in the v2.40 update. We are working diligently to isolate the problem for those few consumers and to identify a solution before we put the firmware back up.
