With PS4’s papercraft-inspired adventure Tearaway Unfolded available on PS Plus this month, we asked Media Molecule to talk us through some unseen concepts behind the game’s creation. Here, designer Rex Crowle pinpoints key design junctures in Tearway’s development, illustrated through exclusive images from the game’s early days.
What a week it’s been! After all the excitement and fanfare of E3, we wanted to take a moment to show you our fantastic new trailer for Tearaway Unfolded, and tell you a bit more about our brand new companion app which will be launching with the game on 8th September!
It was such a buzz doing it all live, the three of us (Karen, Tim and myself) trying to match what we were doing with Kaz’s speech, whether that was painting, drawing, collaging or sliding real Sony products onto the paper scene. I think it really represents how personal technology can and should be.
Here at Media Molecule we love to make new things on new platforms. To us, making games is a real labor of love. Our very blood, sweat and tears are poured into every pixel, every line of code, every note in every song, and every little post it note we use to plan our lives.
