So, OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood is out today, and it’s free on PlayStation Plus! Everyone at Roll7 is hyped that the game is part of this month’s PlayStation Plus lineup. This means that millions of people will be able to get their hands on our little skater. It also means that leaderboards competition will be crazy.

OlliOlli2 might seem like it has hit Beta status quite quickly, but when you consider that we feature locked on the Vita original in August 2013 — it seems like we have been honing this bad boy for ages! We have now completed all user testing and locked about 95% of features while Sam, our Head of QA, does his evil magic and tries to break the game six ways from Sunday.
So, its finally here — the moment that we can announce that since February this year, the skate crew here at Roll7 have been working night and day on what we think is the most epic skate game ever! OlliOll2: Welcome to Olliwood will hit PS4 and PS Vita in 2015!
OlliOlli almost never happened. It was only a kick under the table from Studio Director Tom Hegarty that pushed Creative Director John Ribbins into taking the prototype out of his pocket in our first meeting with PlayStation. Shahid Ahmad at Strategic Content signed the game there and then and the rest, as they say, is history.
Everyone at Roll7 is ecstatic to say that the latest patch for OlliOlli on the PS Vita has finally fixed the crash bug that has been causing inconvenience to a small number of players. It’s with Sony’s QA team and should be rolling out for users before June 20th.

Well, it’s been quite a rollercoaster for us at Roll7 over the last few months!
Our submission process last year was pretty hardcore, with many a pizza-stained late night at our Deptford HQ, London. The team was pretty much broken by the time OlliOlli came out. We had broken down everything that was ‘wrong’ about the game to such an extent that we had managed to successfully convince ourselves that the game would most likely be a flop, a mediocre launch at best…
Next Thursday, February 13th, the Daily Grind Spot will be the Base Amateur 5 Spot. So, if you have unlocked it, get practicing! If not – crack on with career mode until you can access it (then rinse and repeat!). King of the Daily Grind for the day will win a custom OlliOlli skateboard, helmet and first aid kit.
