In the world of Muramasa Rebirth, the princess Momohime is possessed by an antagonistic spirit, who desires his lost legendary Demon Blade and the power it holds. In her captive state, Momohime travels West in order to accomplish the spirit’s goals. With the power of the Demon Blades at her disposal, and the spirit’s sword wielding prowess, demons and gods alike will experience her wrath.

Kisuke, the amnesiac fugitive ninja, finds himself on the run for a crime he has no memory of as he travels East. During a mission for his former lord, he comes across his target, a beautiful woman, who immediately recognizes him. Will Kisuke remember this beauty from his past and survive the onslaught of his pursuers? Only the gods can say.

Both Momohime and Kisuke’s search for the 108 Demon Blades will take them on a perilous journey filled with all kinds of ravenous monsters and deadly enemies. Each Demon Blade is equipped with a secret art that turns Momohime and Kisuke, already deadly with a sword, into unmatched masters of the blade. In this trailer, we show off just some of those blades and their awesome abilities.

Hey there, PlayStation Blog friends! This is Frank “Bo” deWindt II of Aksys Games, but you can all call me Bo. We have a demo coming today for our upcoming PS Vita title, Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward!

For those who aren’t already familiar with the Zero Escape series, Virtue’s Last Reward is a sequel to the critically acclaimed Zero Escape: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, which came out in November 2010 and received glowing accolades from IGN, as well as amazing reviews from Destructoid and Nintendo Power, among others.

Virtue’s Last Reward is a visual novel-style game with puzzle elements that traps college student Sigma, a mysterious young woman named Phi, and seven other strangers in a game of life and death.

They are forced to take part in a game known as the Nonary Game: Ambidex Edition, which will place their lives on the line as they try to escape and discover the truth about why they’re there in the first place.

As a visual novel, Virtue’s Last Reward delves heavily into story, characterization, and reading in general. However, this is balanced by the escape rooms, which consist of point-and-click puzzles that Sigma and his fellow prisoners must solve to move the game along.

For those who happened to mosey on by to just get the first gleaming bits of information on the demo itself, it consists of a brief taste of the Novel sections of the game, which will introduce Sigma and the cast of characters, whom you’ll hopefully fall in love with or hate with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns.

The demo also contains an Escape section, where you’ll play through one of the early escape rooms to get a feel for the interactive point-and-click puzzle gameplay the game has to offer.

Fate. Destiny. A pre-destined future. Call it what you will, but fans of the highly successful Type-Moon franchise will come flocking at the mere mention of the word. To those not quite as familiar with the Fate series or all things Type-Moon, we’d like to present to you an excellent entry point into the universe in the form of the exclusive PSP title Fate/EXTRA!

In this role-playing game you’ll assume the role of a male or female protagonist as you pair up with one of three mystical and mysterious servants to aide you on your quest.

Saber: A class known for its well-balanced abilities and its superior swordsmanship. While Saber may be short in stature at a diminutive 4’9”, her strength and skill with a sword make her worthy of the Saber-class designation.

Archer: A class that specializes in the use of ranged weapons such as bows. An enigmatic warrior clad in a scarlet coat who possesses the ability to excel at weapons other than the bow…

Caster: A class that excels at magic-based combat due to their superior intelligence, though at the cost of being woefully inadequate at hand-to-hand combat. This particular Caster is a powerful magic user with an exotic vulpine appearance and is always clad in a blue kimono. She can be incredibly malicious and vindictive when the situation demands it, but otherwise is absolutely devoted to her Master.

Battles are one-on-one, and the turns are divided into six actions. An action consists of Attack, Guard, or Break. This applies to your enemy as well. The more you fight an enemy the more you’ll learn about their attack pattern to combat them more effectively. You can also pair up with a Servant of your choice at Tsukumihara Academy as you battle it out in the Arena against other Masters in order to vie for the Holy Grail.

Greetings fighting game enthusiasts and BlazBlue fans everywhere! This is Xie from Aksys Games, and I’m here to let you in on all the awesome BlazBlue news happening just around the corner this May!

For the first bit of news, a new patch is coming out for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift on the PS3. This patch is a FREE upgrade that will enable Version 1.03 of the game. Version 1.03 will contain a lot of various bug fixes and tweaks, but there are two big changes that Version 1.03 brings that are sure to get you hyped up for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift all over again!

Version 1.03 will change the game balance to match the current version of BlazBlue found in the arcades of Japan. Whether your dream is to battle it out in Japan in their famous Super Battle Opera or just play with friends at home, be prepared to unleash all sorts of new combos and strategies after this update.

But that’s not all! Version 1.03 will make a new character available for purchase – the unbelievably cute Platinum the Trinity has finally made it to home consoles! Whether you enjoy throwing down with cutesy characters or fighting with a quirky, item-based style, Platinum will be available for unlock on PSN for $7.99!

The other piece of big news is that BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II will be coming to PlayStation Portable this May! BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II is an enhanced port of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift that includes all the DLC and balances changes, and even includes some new story and single-player content created just for the handheld version. It’s the perfect way to take BlazBlue with you when you’re itching for awesome 2D fighting action on the go!

You may have had a chance to peruse some of our marketing materials regarding Agarest. You haven’t? Oh my. Well, in polite company, I would say that they play up the relationship aspect of the game. To elaborate somewhat, Agarest gives you, the PS3 player, the reasonably unique experience of playing through five generations of fathers and sons. Your in-game decisions – tactical, moral, and romantic – will determine the abilities and strengths of your offspring, which characters will join your party, and ultimately, the very fate of your world!

But perhaps a dating sim (and genetic simulator) doesn’t tickle your fancy. As a strategy role-playing game, Agarest is, in many ways, defined by its battle system. I could use all sorts of large, important words–words like “nuance”, or “multifaceted”, or “ham”–to explain its intricacies to you, but this is the Age of Information, and that means videos! Everyone likes videos. We have included one, in which an incredibly handsome and shockingly intelligent narrator explains some of Agarest’s basic battle concepts to you. Give it a watch!

Of course, even with a flawless strategy, you may find the game difficult–especially if you are insane enough to play on “Hard.” Fortunately, we have sought to alleviate such woes, and will be giving out a number of free DLC packages in the weeks following release. Free to everyone on the PlayStation Network, these tiny nuggets of digital joy will bring you everything from special weapons and armor, to items that improve your stats and abilities, to that most indispensible category of loot: restorative items. There will be DLC you can buy too, of course, but these ones are free!

So there you have it! Record of Agarest War has something for everyone, whether you’re looking for a dating sim, a complex strategy-RPG, or hours upon hours of epic fantasy and political intrigue…or all of those things.
