The Holiday Sale has been spreading holiday cheer to PS4, PS3 and PS Vita owners for the last three weeks, and today marks the beginning of the final week of discounts on a ton of games, movies, and TV shows.
Today on the blogcast: hands-on impressions with Resident Evil, Vib-Ribbon, Alien: Isolation, and a heated discussion about spoiler culture. Plus new releases, listener letters, and more. Enjoy!
Alien: Isolation is out today on PS4 and PS3, and it’s designed to capture the style and horror of the 1979 sci-fi classic. To celebrate, two members of the development team join PlayStation.Blog for a look into the rich, complex process of bringing the iconic killer to Alien: Isolation.
Three extraordinarily different games headline this week’s new releases, filled to the brim with socially connected racing, survival horror, and world-class basketball (Can you guess which one’s which?) It’s a tremendous week of gaming at PlayStation, and it caters to all sorts of gamers.
Alien: Isolation’s Survivor Mode was first seen at E3, where attendees got hands-on with the time-based challenge of escaping a level — and the Alien — in the fastest time possible. Others later experienced this terror, isolated in the dark chamber of a 10ft tall, giant Alien egg replica gaming station at San Diego Comic Con and PAX.
Alien: Isolation’s Nostromo Edition, which includes the bonus content “Crew Expendable,” contains Ellen Ripley and the original crew of the USS Nostromo. The pre-order bonus content will find you playing as Dallas, Parker, or the iconic Ellen Ripley. In the horrific moments following the deaths of Brett and Kane, it will be up to you to escape the Alien terror hunting you.
