In our last PlayStation.Blog post we announced that Gauntlet is coming to PS4 August 11th in the new Gauntlet: Slayer Edition.
For a number of months now the Gauntlet team has been working tirelessly to mold the game into what we fully envisioned. The key points we have wanted to address are Hero depth, gameplay variation, and overall visuals — and we did this by both adding new features and updating existing ones.
Nearly 30 years ago Morak first took his place in the Gauntlet to shape it to his will and torment any adventurer daring to brave its depths. Last year he made his re-appearance to challenge champions on PC, and your cries for more ways to thwart his evil plans were heard.
Honored HELLDIVERS, With your help and determination the first Galactic War was won, then the enemies of freedom retaliated and we were forced to find a new home. New Super-Earth is safe… for now.
Greetings, Helldivers. As a civilian, you made the most important decision of your life by enlisting in the Helldivers. As a Helldiver, you made Liberty… Democracy… and the protection of Super-Earth your personal responsibility.
With a game of Helldivers going, shouts, curses, and laughter are never far behind. Arrowhead’s top-down shooter is coming to PS4, PS3, and PS Vita this Summer, bolstered by brutally difficult missions and gratifying multiplayer design. This is a game about outfitting an elite squad, dropping into procedurally-generated battlefields, and fighting to survive. The high level of challenge and the “always-on” friendly fire make victory all the sweeter.
Helldivers marries real-life laughter and video game death better than it should. Within ten minutes of top-down mayhem, my team and I were mauled by a wild praying mantis, trampled by beetles, evaporated by ordinance, and crushed by our own orbital supply pod. And we couldn’t stop laughing along the way. This absurdly entertaining co-op shooter is coming to PS3, PS4, and PS Vita later this year, courtesy of Swedish developer Arrowhead Games.
