Welcome back to PlayStation Underground, our online show about video games! Today, we go underground with Destiny: House of Wolves, the latest expansion to Bungie’s sweeping, sci-fi opus. Specifically, we gear up and enter the brutal Prison of Elders, a wave-based arena mode that pits Guardians against voracious enemies in exchange for legendary rewards.
In addition to upgrading the game’s popular competitive mode, Destiny’s next expansion aims to flesh out the backstory of The Fallen, the dastardly alien race that have claimed many of mankind’s abandoned strongholds following the appearance of The Darkness.
With House of Wolves, Bungie aims to bring a bigger, more rewarding competitive experience to Destiny. In addition to three new Crucible maps (plus an exclusive fourth map for PS4 and PS3 owners), Bungie is shaking up the formula with more loot and more activities for high-level players.
It’s been a crazy year at Bungie. Not only did we launch a new game, but we saw a brand new community rally around it. We’ve had an amazing time welcoming you to the Tower, and fighting alongside you in public events. Even better, we got to meet some of you in real life – at E3, gamescom, or even the very first PlayStation Experience.
From the minute we saw Destiny at Bungie, we loved it, and we thought it was the exact kind of game PlayStation fans would fall in love with…and you did. You spent so much time trading in items to the Cryptarch, hiding in terror waiting for a Strike teammate to respawn, or just standing outside of a cave like maniacs firing blindly into the abyss.
A foul evil stirs beneath the surface of the Moon — a dark legacy that has threatened countless lives. And now, as the Hive legend known as Crota prepares to unleash the strength of the Hellmouth upon Earth, Guardians of the Last City take up their arms in courageous resistance.
