Last week, I shared my first PS4 hands-on experiences with Destiny, Bungie’s ambitious social shooter. In today’s new video, weapons, armor, and loot are squarely in the crosshairs as lead designer Lars Bakken and community manager David Dague walk us through Bungie’s plans for galactic domination.
Having spend several hours with a pre-release version of Destiny on PS4, my sense is that Bungie’s vision is no less than a complete rethink of how multiplayer shooters work. Destiny is a deconstruction and reconstruction of a genre that has languished in sterile matchmaking lobbies for far too long.
Hey there, PlayStation Nation. I’m here from Bungie, to offer you another look into the world of Destiny. Very soon, you’ll have a chance to take your first steps into that world as a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth. We have a grand adventure planned for you, and we’re thrilled to be sharing another piece of it.
This has been a great year, and we’d like you to know that you’ve been a huge part of that. We’re about to close down our studio for a long winter’s nap. Before we go, we wanted to remind you that, of all the gifts we received in 2013, the chance to introduce our game to you was the sweetest.
Everyone here at Bungie is thrilled to help ring in the next generation of gaming, and to celebrate the launch of the PlayStation 4. Though we couldn’t bring the entire studio to the launch event in NYC, we thought it was only right to deliver a little taste of in-engine footage. Check it out!
Yesterday, we gave you the first glimpse at Destiny’s box art. Today, we’ve got a new trailer for you to check out, and an announcement we’re really excited about: the Destiny Beta! Before you rush off, watch our new trailer, featuring a destination we’re super excited about… the Moon!
